Please meet us at Cafe Colibri, a small coffee shop next to the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve. Depending on the traffic, you may be able to park on the road (route 620, Carr. a Reserva de Monteverde). Otherwise, you may park at the Monteverde Reserve's Parking lot (in front of Selina's Hostel).

The guide himself was passionate about birds and knowledgeable. We've seen a few interesting species, including some woodpeckers, a parrot, some hummingbird species, a green toucan and some more smaller birds.
Now the not so nice part: the tour description says that one starts with the breakfast at 6am at Hotel El Bosque, but the restaurant only serves breakfast from around 7:30. There was no information anywhere about the itinerary of the tour and what to expect. Basically we stayed mostly around the hotel premises, not even getting close to the Monteverde reserve. I would have expected that we go further into the forest, not just at the hotel area.

Good points. Great feedback.
The reason we were originally doing the tour around El Bosque is mostly to drive costs down to make it more affordable for customers. The entrance to parks is $25 which would drive costs up, translating into a significantly more expensive experience. However, we realize that this might be the best way forward, so we are considering changing plans and going in that direction.
