Poor Service and bad experience with Viator

The tour is advertised as 2.5 hour private, in the language of your choice. Our language is English. It says it will be just you and your tour guide. We spent the first half hour driving to pick up another couple, whose primary language was Spanish, though one of them spoke English well. It says you will receive snacks, namely empanada. We did not receive this, and when we were offered coco water, we thought we had to buy it so declined; they did not say it was free. Our host, Danielo, spoke derrogatorily of Haitians and Venezuelans throughout the tour. After an hour of driving us around, he took us to a remote souvenir store for half an hour, then dropped the other couple off. To make up for it not being private, he took us to take a picture at the entrance to a beach, and then a supermarket. We learned some, but left with a bad taste in our mouths and disappointed. This tour is subcontracted so one person’s experience may not be yours.

Alexander the Great is greater than his namesake!

Alexander the Great was amazing! Even with the rain and it being 3 Kings Day we were able to get out amoung the real people and see life in the Dominician Republic the way it is. All our questions were answered honestly and my heart was filled with a person to person connection with many. Off restort it is hard to feel any safer then with a Christian pastor who you can tell is full of love for not only this country and it's people but all people! The history, knoweldge and personilization of this tour cannot be beat. In fact I will be willing to say Alexander went above and beyond checking back to ensure another tour that was cancled by another provider was taken care of for us the next day, just so we had the vacation experience we had desired. It was not his job, his company or any of that, he just loves and cares that much. That kind of kindness and compassion for others is rare in today's society unfortunately and is what our world could use more of. I would love to consider Alexander as a new found friend as he is one amazing human who has made this trip better than ever!

SCAM! Driver dropped us...

SCAM! Driver dropped us off a souvenir store and drove us back! We had another driver call when we were at the store asking where we were! I believe the employees at the store were in on the scam as well. Very frustrating and scary.

Not worth the money! Nothing really to see here. Two guys picked us up in a beat down van and took us round the city in front of all the other resorts and stopped in front of a gift shop.

Book this excursion. Don’t cheat yourself, treat yourself. Ramon and Adolfo were pleasant, professional, and timely. In addition to treating us to the sights and some delicious authentic empanadas, they were kind enough to stop at some very scenic sights and take pictures for us. From start to finish, this was a great way to spend several hours on an afternoon.

Nice to get out of the resort and see a bit of the real Dominican Republic. Guide was very repetitive in his comments and it was hard to make out what he said. Quick walk through a busy local shoping street and short walk through a local shopping centre and supermarket. Minibus drive was interesting. Disappointing end to the tour, visiting a tourist craft shop, not the local market we expected.

Advertised incorrectly but ok if you want to view local streets from car

Expect a ride of confusion, frustration, and moments of regret. Firstly, you won’t be picked up on time. My driver didn’t even know how many people he was picking up. Secondly, there is no concept of you going shopping to a market. We were group of 7 and were picked up from resort and brought to a gift shop 40 mins away where we were given baskets to buy “magnets, booze, clothes, artisanal items.” That’s as far as it goes for shopping. I can’t believe I was looking forward to coming back to the resort. Best for folks who wish to view the streets of punta cana from the car and have low expectations.

We wanted a tour where the locals live and that’s what we got. The driver and tour guide worked very well as a team and made this trip a memorable one. We walked through the neighborhood, then went for some mamajuana drink tasting and souvenir shopping. Along the way we stopped by for some empanadas.

The tour was so fun! You get a different vibe, you learn and see the reality of the life's of dominican people we got to stop to eat empanadas, got lemonade, mangoes and he even let us stop too try some local food that was delicious. Danilo was the best we booked in english but he spoke french so we where able to communicate in our local language. He speaks many more languages he's the best and a funny guy that's knows his stuff!!

This tour was so great! Our tour guide was very informative and funny. He knows all 3 languages so getting around was not a hassle. We got mango sugar cane and honestly anything we wanted on the side of the road. We even got to enter and shopping boutique!! 10/10 experience

This was a great experience! Feloz was the driver and Danilo was the facilitator. We got the experience of seeing real life hustle & bustle of the Haitian and Dominican people. We also made one stop at a souvenir shop, so hold off on getting those! We requested empanadas and also stopped for those. Overall 10/10! Wear tennis shoes!

Was fun learning about Punta Cana besides the resort. Nice beach wish we stayed longer and enjoyed the shops there. The only negative was the souvenir shop was pricey.
