Address provided on map isn’t accurate, beach is crowded, need to walk down steep set of steps for access

Hi Jason, We would like to confirm that our shop is located at the address provided on the map. All independent surf schools in Puerto Escondido must have a shop front. The beach that is closest is Carrizalillo and does have many stairs to walk down (and up!) to access the beach. During high season, in December, all of the beaches become very crowded. This is our local break and preferred spot for classes. This beach was also the most suitable beach for your class on the day. We are sorry for any confusion and disappointment you felt with the location. Take it easy!

I had an AMAZING time with Donovan, the owner of the shop. I was spending a solo day in Puerto Escondido and decided to book a morning surf lesson and was highly impressed. The lesson ended up being completely private, and Donovan was super friendly, even offering to pick me up from my hostel and drop me off at a different beach afterwards. He is a great teacher and gave me honest feedback after each wave. I ended up standing up on just about every single wave due to his help and advice! There are tons of other shops but I had such a good time with Donovan I would definitely recommend him if you’re unsure who to pick. I am hoping to come back to Puerto Escondido in the future and want to book private lessons with Donovan, he was that good!

Pacific surf academy was epic. My son and I had a lesson with Alejandro - great vibes, spoke english-highly recommend.
November waves were low at Carrizalillo for 10am lesson, so we went over to La Punta. Owner arranged a taxi and even gave my wife and daughter an umbrella so they could sit on the beach and watch. They had boards waiting at La Punta for us to use.
My son (14) is a beginner and the setup was great: Alejandro had great local knowledge of the wave and helped him position and gave great tips. Gave him a push on a few waves and he stood up and road his first attempt...mid way through the lesson he was paddling into his own waves and riding. I went inside near the rocks and rode some small but consistent waves... La Punta had various surf school folks out for lessons, but it wasn't too packed and there was a good vibe in the water.
After the lesson another guy from Pacific academy came to pick us up in a truck and dropped us off at Angelito near the surf school so we could grab lunch and chill at that more family friendly beach.
Super laidback shop, good vibes, excellent customer service and communication on whatsapp - definitely take a lesson with that crew - seems great for beginners.

It was by FAR the highlight of our trip. These guys are AMAZING. They are knowledgeable, friendly, and patient. My family (son 17, twin girls 15, my wife and I) had such a great time. It was our first time surfing and 4 of us managed to stand up more than once.
We felt safe all the time.
I HIGHLY recommend surfing class with these amazing group of instuctors

Donavan and Alex were great, picked us up on time. Drove us to the shop for a quick overview then we descended the stairs and got a heap of waves. While we were out surfing a sea turtle popped up between the waves as well which was really cool to see. When we finished a couple of ice cold beers were waiting for us as well.

Sonle, the theory was very good, the beach is beautiful and very quiet but I no longer felt comfortable with the instructor in the water; at no time did they tell us that he was going to be hanging on our boards all the time; while waiting for the waves to come to get ahead of us; he hung on the top of the board and tried to make conversation; for this he hung so hard that I made efforts not to fall; I thought that he was going to be watching us and that we were going to hustle to catch the waves; although he tried to make conversation, he has no tact to treat people; to me for example he said: do not be afraid, do not get nervous; and I said, neither fear nor nervous (I do not know where he got that) to the third wave, when he found me he said: already tired? Are you tired? (And I, because I will be tired???) then I heard myself talking to the other girl who tmb was in the activity and said: I thought she was coming with her family, I didn???t think she came alone, sometimes it???s good to get out of trouble, you???; and I with the face of: what happens to this one??? I found it so impertinent and annoying that I preferred to no longer try, I said: you don???t love me anymore; and he replies: does he want to get out???
