What To Expect
At 8am, 11am, or 2pm, your tour begins at a centrally located meeting point in Playa del Carmen. Here, you’ll get to grips with your personal ATV, which can accommodate up to two passengers, and receive a detailed safety briefing.
Then, once you feel confident, embark on a 17-mile (28-km) route that winds through mountain roads, dense jungle, and rock formations. After approximately 40 minutes, you’ll arrive at Rio Secreto Nature Reserve and descend to a subterranean network of caves.
Refresh in an underground river and admire elaborate crystal formations before returning to sea level and continuing to your final destination, a cenote.
Spend approximately 30 minutes refreshing in the sinkhole’s crystal clear water before returning to your original departure point in central Playa del Carmen.

I enjoyed driving the ATV. You need a Scarf as dirt particles can get in your face while riding. The crystal Caves tour was very insightful to mayan culture and nature.

I did not get to do this excursion, due to a mishap with my Bestfriend credit card, I loss my deposit & they charge me full price, I did not want a refund, just to exchange to the next day, so I could enjoy the experience with my family & friends, I would never go off the resort by myself and they was not being reasonable at all.
Horrible Horrible Horrible, sad part they called me after they charge my card to say they had an opening the next day but I would have to pay again!!

We had such a great time! The ATV portion as well as the cave/ Cenote tour were great. Our guide Lorenzo was the best!! Definitely recommend bringing a gator/bandana to cover your mouth as the roads are dusty during the ATV ride. They have everything you could need available for purchase though if you forget something!

This adventure was worth every dollar and moment. Incredibly awesome staff/guides; amazing atmosphere; an adventure to remember! I would recommend booking with a smaller group as there is more time and space to really embrace the cenote portion of the adventure in its full tranquil beauty.

We had an appointment at 10AM, got a confirmation email the morning before and then the afternoon before I got an email that our time had been changed to 1:40PM. We already had afternoon plans. Called to cancel and get a refund and they said they would need to “review” the details and get back to me about my refund. Have not heard back. Have not received my refund.

These folks were great. Excellent tour of Rio Secreto and for the ATVs they were really good about doing different paths for different abilities--we had a few less experienced teenagers, so the guides took them a little slower and added more difficult sidepaths for the others until we met up. One comment for the company tho, I get not wanting people taking pics with their phones while on the ATVs--it's a safety hazard--but not allowing it in the river just seems a money grab. Lower the price (it would've cost us $100 to get even a single one of their photos as you have to pay a flat fee for every person in the group and get all the photos), and/or allow cameras in the river. Everyone would be happier. That said, this is still a fun tour and the guides were great.

This experience was amazing! Spent a great amount of time on the ATV’s and the Cenote swimming. The crew is so friendly, accommodating, and helpful, you would have thought they were family. If you do not like cold water, they offer you rental for swim suits that help warm you up. They also take pictures of you that you can buy, the transportation was very easy and comfortable. They provide you with unlimited water, helmets, life vests, and swim shoes. I recommend each person being prepared to pay for the transportation ($10), ATV insurance ($10), and the photos taken ($50). This excursion was great for my group of 9 friends, and if we ever visit mexico again, we would do it again!

The Crystal Cage tour was absolutely 💯 amazing 👏🏿. Our host was patient and friendly; very informative about the Yucatan history. The ATV ride was exilerating! Definitely recommend the combo.

This was the best excursion of my life. I 10/10 recommend Mexxtremo Tours. They are a small business and I loved that this felt like a private tour. Everything went seamless from pickup to drop off. The driver was punctual, The guides were so attentive and supportive to me and my friends. I preferred to ride slower and one of the guides (Bohish I think) stayed behind to make sure I was safe and comfortable. The ATV excursion was amazing. It gets dusty and the roads can be a little scary at times but if you like trill, this excursion is for you. After the tour, we visited the most magical cenote I've ever seen in life. That place looked absolutely unreal. It is definitely worth every penny. The photographer also captured some amazing shot of us there. While there, Mexxtremo Tours mentioned that also offer a separate tour of just the caves. I would definitely go back for that.

I was both nervous and excited for this experience, as I had never ridden on an ATV before. However, the crew at Mexxtremo made my family and I extremely comfortable. They are very accommodating and patient, especially with my parents. After getting dirty with ATVs, we then did some cave and cenote exploring. The whole excursion was wonderful, and the pictures taken were amazing. This was an experience my family and I will talk about for months to come!

Do not book with viator they did not give me the trip I planned for and it cost me extra- use MAYA - this is the company they dropped me off with -the add said we would be going to Rio Sectreto. It’s the only tour that did this - I should have known it was false! My father and I should have been able to zip line for the price we paid as well as ATV and cenote per Maya adventures.

Awesome group of people that this experience even better. Amazing cenote and experience! The reason it is not 5 starts is they booked us for 2 dbl atv's for a family of 5. Mom, dad, 3 boys-17, 16 and 11. They had the 11 year old riding with a guide. He ended up doing that which was fine. But, my older sons needed their own atv's. Make sure you specify when booking how many atv's you want. They charged us additional monies for the additional atv. Then we had no cash to pay for all of the awesome pictures that were taken. :(

was OK and less than expected
ATV was nice but not that long, I was slow and they decided to do short ride from with out asking ! cenotes was nice but was not that long

We had a great tour, very familiar with four wheelers as we live in Louisiana. The trails i wouldn't say were thrilling or anything, about what we're use to back at home but i could see how they might be for a beginner. Cave and cave tour was absolutely wonderful. highly recommend this crew, enjoy!

Absolutely the best guides around. Spoke great English, really got involved, were accommodating and funny. We had a blast. One of the best excursions I have ever done. This company goes above and beyond.
For next time I will bring my own bandana or scarf for the ATV’ing ( it’s dusty. ( they have ones for sale 10$ ) hey now I have a souvenir. They provide water shoes if you don’t have your own for free! This cenote was one of the best I have ever got to experience ( the caves amazing )
I will be returning in March and will book again to bring my mom. So much fun. Poala ( not sure how to spell her name correctly is a Gem)

With the plethora of tours available, this by far is the best kept secret of all and the hi-point of our trip to Cancun. The professionalism and personal attention by the staff was second to none. It's a bit of a cruise to get to the location but once there well worth the drive. We spent a good amount of time riding the ATV's and were led through a variety of terrains. Next came the underground Cenote which was incredible. Our knowledgeable guide "Bosh" carefully led us into the rainwater filled cave detailing every aspect...its' creation and makeup. Once in the center of the colorfully lit underground pool he released our family to swim about till it was time to head back out to complete the experience with a shot of Tequila. With so many tour options available, this should be your first pick.

OMG!! This was the best tour by far. 1.5 hours on fast ATV’s, and 55 minutes in White Head cave!! This cave was by far the most beautiful creation in the world. Guides were fun, positive, and aware of everything. Must do when in Playa Del Carmen
