This was a fun experience. Our guide Roney was knowledgeable about the city and its history. The food stops were very good.
Would recommend this tour.

Just do it! Mr. Tommy was fantastic! Make it the first thing you do when you get into town so you know where to (and where not to) go. You will learn so much about the city and culture. And the food stops can't be beat. Come hungry!
Response from Host, Mar 2026
Robin, THANK YOU for your enthusiastic and cheerful review!! Tommy appreciated hearing your kind words, and so did we. It is music to our ears to hear that you had such a great time on the tour. It means that we met our goal! It would be great to see you again in the future. Please remember to recommend us to your friends and family, and on social media. Thank you!

Our tour guide Naif was terrific! Wonderful personality and very knowledgeable! We did not feel like we got enough samples of food, however. Tour consisted of gumbo, jambalaya, étouffée, a sandwich and a praline. I guess we were hoping for more of a variety, instead all the rice based cuisine. Also, we could never order a cocktail during the whole tour because that would have taken too much time at the restaurants.
Response from Host, Feb 2026
Hi Anjanet! First of all, thank you very much for your praise of Naif. He appreciated hearing your kind words.
Now to your complaints . . . first, our rice-based cuisine. Our local and historic cuisine IS rice based. This is due to the one-pot cooking that our Cajun ancestors relied on. Also, Louisiana is a top-three U.S. rice-producing State. Since our tour is specifically geared to historic, local foods, there is rice. Of course we are sorry that you were disappointed. I hope you felt the dishes were delicious at any rate.
Secondly, being unable to order a cocktail . . . you took our tour on the Sunday before Mardi Gras - the Quarter was packed, and the restaurants were slammed. More than 2 million people came for Mardi Gras this year!!! Of course, however, I wish that you had been able to get your cocktail. We need cocktails!
And lastly, here in New Orleans the Muffuletta sandwich is not "just a sandwich". It is a dearly loved part of our Italian heritage, and is very popular.
In closing, thank you for taking our tour, and I wish it had been a better experience for you.

My daughter and I did The Premier New Orleans Food Tour. Mr. Naif was our tour guide. Let me tell you, Mr. Naif did a FABULOUS job!! He is very knowledgeable and so passionate about New Orleans!! I didn't realize how much history New Orleans has. I have learned a lot! Also, the food was AMAZING!! I highly recommend doing the food tour with Mr. Naif! You won't regret it. I promise!! ❤️
Response from Host, Sep 2025

Food was excellent as well as our tour guide, Neif. Make sure you have an appetite and good walking shoes. Good history shared about the food, locations, and NOLA in general.

Patricia_D, Mar 2025
A wonderful way to make sure you taste all of what New Orleans is known for! Gumbo, jambalaya, poboy sandwich and pralines! Our tour leader, Bryon, was incredible! Not only did he give us the history/background of the food, but interesting information/history on places/events we passed. What a wealth of knowledge! If there was a downside, , I would say the food was too much…maybe one type of gumbo instead of two and add something lighter?
Response from Host, Mar 2025
Brion thanks you so much for your great review, Patricia! We are happy that you enjoyed the tour so much. Brion does a great job. Your comment about too much food being served made me laugh! That is the FIRST time I've heard anyone complain about that in the two years + that we have been the owners. Please allow me clarify that you did not have two types of gumbo. One of the dishes, at Pierre Maspero's, was crawfish etoufee. One of my absolutely favorite dishes, by the way. Most Cajun dishes, (as well as Creole), are served with rice, since Cajun food is commonly known as one pot cooking. That is the historic food culture here in south Louisiana.
Abigail_F, Mar 2025
Great tour. We saw a part of old New Orleans that was genuine…had great little restaurants, and different souvenir shops than those around Bourbon Street. Classy and memorable. Larry was the perfect tour guide , very knowledgeable and always helpful
Response from Host, Mar 2025
Larry was so happy to hear about your great review, Abigail! Thank you so much for posting. It's so satisfying to know that you consider the tour classy and memorable. That's our goal! We hope to see you again in the future. Please remember to recommend us to your friends and family, and on social media. Thank you!
Tricia_T, Jan 2025
We’ve been on food tours in other cities and this one was incredibly slow. There was a lot of waiting around for when it was time to move to the next location. There were 4 sit downs plus a walk-through Aunt Sally’s to pick up a boxed Praline over a 3-hour period with 16 people.
Elizabeth was trying but she needs more training. She gave us some basic information on each of the foods but at times went off on tangents with anecdotes about her relatives. I prefer information that is precise and to the point. She also admitted multiple times that she doesn’t like to cook. A food tour guide should be a gourmand who loves eating and cooking food and can really infuse a passion into the stories about the ingredients and history of the origin of the dishes.
Response from Host, Jan 2025
Dear Tricia . . .
We were so very sad to read your review. We are a small company, struggling hard to provide an excellent tour. Bad reviews take such a toll on us. I will address your concerns one at a time:
1. The fact that you were unhappy with the tour. If you wish, we will make a refund. We want our guests to really enjoy our tour.
2. The tour was slow. The reason for this is that the French Quarter was BURSTING with tourists, and the restaurants were packed. New Orleans is a popular place to spend New Year's Eve, plus the Sugar Bowl was to be played the next day. 80,000 people came to town to go to the game. This means that the restaurants were under high stress. But they did the best that they could. We regret the extended wait time.
Elizabeth: I have counseled with Elizabeth, and we will work with her. As far as "a food tour guide should be a gourmand who loves eating and cooking food" . . . as you can tell by her size, she does love eating. I must say that I too love eating, but not cooking. I don't think it's mandatory to love cooking in order to appreciate fine food.
So, to sum it up, we apologize. If you will contact me, I will refund. We can't control crowds on New Year's Eve. We will counsel with Elizabeth.
Best wishes to you and your family in the New Year. Sandy

Great tour to start your visit. Naïf has curated the best spots for the New Orleans classics. He pairs that with entertaining history of the food, location, history and culture.

Ann_S, Nov 2024
We had a great time on our food tour! Our guide, Naif, was friendly and knowledgeable, like hanging with your uncle who's taking you to all the best local spots and giving you lots of background and history along the way. (We felt safe with Naif!)
We had such delicious food, including jambalaya, gumbo, crawfish etoufeé, muffaletta (group's overall favorite), and pralines. I absolutely recommend this tour for foodies and history lovers!
This doesn't take any points away, but while Naif is a great guide and very open and personable, the neurospicy among us found there to be a lot of direct eye contact. Great if you like or don't mind that, uncomfortable if you don't. We also fully realize that it is our responsibility to communicate those feelings, and we did not.
Jackie_G, Oct 2024
Great experience- 5 different but classic NO dishes in 5 different locations. Jambalaya, duck gumbo, seafood etouffee, muffuletta & pralines. Great history of food, culture & history in each dish. It was relaxed, we were not rushed to finish or to next location. Plenty of time to ask questions & chat with others in the group. Really enjoyable.
Response from Host, Oct 2024
Wow, we were so happy to read your review, Jackie! Thank you for posting. It was our pleasure to host you, and are so glad that you enjoyed the tour. We hope to see you again in the future. Please remember to recommend us to your friends and family, and on social media. Thank you!

Heidi was an outstanding guide, full of enthusiasm, fascinating insights, and engaged everyone. She kept things running smoothly and made adjustments when necessary. This was not a “small” taste tour but very ample and by the end we all knew that was the last food needed for the day and dinner plans were out of the question! I would book Heidi for anything she does!
Response from Host, Oct 2024

We had the most wonderful time with Naïf! He was extremely knowledgeable and adjusted the tour based on the audience. The food was excellent! We did not have a ton of walking. Just the right amount, given the heat. Recommend!
Response from Host, Aug 2024
Naif thanks you for your kind words! It is great to hear that you had a most wonderful time. About the walking, we specifically chose restaurants that are pretty close together. New Orleans summers, as you said "given the heat" dictate that! We hope to see you again in the future. Please recommend us to your friends and family, and on social media. Thank you!
Paula_B, Jul 2024

The tour was ok .. wish the guide explained a little more of the food.
Our guide was very soft spoken and hard to hear when she spoke
Response from Host, May 2024
Hi, Patricia . . . darn, I am so sorry to hear that our tour was less than stellar. Our goal is to give you a great experience. We will certainly talk to the guide, but in addition, we would like to offer you a complimentary tour when you next visit New Orleans. Please contact me directly (contact info is on our website, noculinarytours.com) and I promise I will take good care of you!
Michael_W, May 2024
This is the second time I’ve been on a city food tour and this experience was even better than the first due primarily to our incredible guide, Naif. He was so welcoming to all members in our group and truly created a family atmosphere. He shared personal stories about his upbringing in New Orleans and prepared dozens of maps and other artifacts to teach us about the rich history of the creole and Cajun people that left us with a deeper appreciation of the culture and traditions in this area. Oh, and the food really couldn’t have been better! Overall a wonderful experience that we would highly recommend to anyone who loves delicious food, meeting new people and learning about this amazing city!
Response from Host, May 2024
Thank you so much for posting, Michael! Your kind words are music to our ears. Naif loves his city and his guests, and is always delighted to hear that the tour was a success.
