The Kibera tour is an eye-opening and deeply meaningful experience. Despite being known as the largest slum, it is a place full of life, warmth, and incredibly kind people. Our guide, who was raised in Kibera, was highly knowledgeable and shared valuable insights into daily life and the challenges faced by the community. Additionally, the entry fee goes toward developing and supporting a school for underprivileged children, which makes the experience even more impactful.

This was without question one of the most powerful and meaningful experiences I’ve had anywhere in the world. From the moment the tour began, I felt completely safe, welcomed, and guided with genuine care and respect.
This experience is humbling in the truest sense — not voyeuristic, not rushed, and never uncomfortable. It’s about connection, understanding, and seeing the strength, resilience, and humanity within the community. The warmth of the people and the joy of the children are things I will carry with me long after leaving Nairobi.
My community guide and leader, Rally, was exceptional. His knowledge, patience, and integrity set the tone for the entire experience. He was incredibly accommodating and thoughtful, always checking in and making sure everything felt right. At the end of the tour, he went far beyond expectations by taking me to one of his own local spots for lunch — an authentic, personal gesture that perfectly reflected the spirit of the day.
If you are visiting Nairobi and want more than a surface-level experience, do this tour. It will challenge your perspective, leave you inspired, and remind you of what truly matters. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Rally was incredible! Kind and informative and showed all the areas. Please be prepared to bring cash with you to purchase snacks at the local stores and hand out to kids. There are also opportunities to buy and eat local foods if you want to try and you will need cash. If you want to buy water at the stores you will need cash as well. Bring at least 2000-3000 KES and also tip Rally.

Honestly I am so glad I found and booked this tour. It was an eye-opening experience and so heartwarming and beautiful to see how many things Rally and Alan give back to the community through the Agape organisation they put together. The people are so thankful that you visit their community and we felt completely safe and even loved by all kids and adults! Definitely recommend

Very interesting experience. We spent 2-3 hours visiting the place. The tour guide was a teacher from a local school, and the revenue goes to the school.

We finished the tour with Rally a few hours ago. We were impressed by the kindness of the people and especially by the hospitality, despite their precarious living conditions. Rally was fantastic. He was born and raised in Kibera. Now he teaches school and tries to change things as much as he can, together with his brother. Kibera teaches us so much; it was a good life lesson for us. I recommend everyone to visit.

Very interesting tour through the probably largest slum of Kenya including loads of friendly local encounters! Fully recommended especially since tour groups are usually very small or even private.

Rally was an informative tour guide. He grew up in the slums and became a teacher. He now helps run a school for children with challenges. Great behind the scenes info and tour. Saw a souvenir factory, a home, a big open air market and a school. Highly recommend.

This tour highlights the fighting spirit of the people of the Kibera slums. It was quite beautiful to see the hope and smiles of children that are not as fortunate as others. It’s an experience everyone should have. My guide Rally is an amazing leader and rolemodel of the community. I was honored to be given the opportunity to tour Kibera.
Thank you
Laz

Rally was a really good guide! It was a very safe tour. You can walk around the slums with confidence, ask questions of the guides and gain their knowledge. On the way, we stopped at one local souvenir shop that sells traditional crafts, but shopping was not compulsory, the price was right, and most importantly, they carried cuter items than anywhere else.
