Opting out of the cruise offered excursions for this stop, given so many other options, we booked this tour direct with ViaTor and had a great experience. I was concerned about my first time going independent of the cruise program; but, everything worked out smoothly. Our team, Tumate (spelling?) met us right at our tender pier as we arrived. Super convenient! And, the comms through the Viator App leading up to that were prompt and effective. Tumate was very proud of the island heritage and culture and shared numerous personal stories of growing up locally. Things got off to a bit of a slow start as we first started the tour; but, he seemed to know he had aces in his pocket that he was going to play in the end. He even commented he liked the “cherry on top” approach. And, boy did he finish strong with that! Tumate seemed to focus on avoiding the crowds, and took us around to the west side which felt more remote. We exited the lagoon for a short period into the deeper waters in search of Dolphins; but, were unsuccessful. Not the team’s fault. We were then taken to a very productive coral garden where we were the only boat and had a pleasant snorkel there. Coming back, Tumate dropped us into a channel where we struck “Turtle Gold!” My wife was so excited as this was on the list of things she really wanted to experience and, boy, did we! While the waters were choppy, and not necessarily beginner level, we immediately saw multiple turtles hunkered down on the sea bed of the channel. Tumate was an excellent free diver and was going down to point them out for us. He even took our GoPro down for some close up shots! And, we also got to see some surfacing for air and get up for a real close experience which was amazing! We were fortunate as well to hit a large school of Eaglerays which were just beautiful! And, he dove down and got some great close up pictures of those for us as well. Lastly, we finished with a sandy bottom shallow snorkel where we had close encounters with black tip sharks and stingrays, often even in the same picture frame! They dropped us back at the pier right on time and we were elated with all that we were able to see and experience in such a short time. Overall, a great tour and way to experience this beautiful island and its majestic scenery and marine life.

Incredible Moorea Lagoon Tour – Don’t Miss This!

    April_P, Apr 2026
One of the absolute highlights of our Moorea cruise stop. Our guide and the entire team were exceptional – knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely passionate about sharing the lagoon with us. They expertly spotted and pointed out black tip sharks, sea turtles, stingrays, and an incredible variety of fish throughout the tour. What really set this experience apart was being brought to underwater sculptures tied to the region’s ancient religion – a completely unexpected and fascinating addition. The team was also incredibly well-organized from start to finish. They arranged our taxi to the tour location and made sure we got back to the dock in time for our ship – no stress, no scrambling. For cruise passengers especially, that kind of reliability is everything. Knowledgeable, warm, accommodating, and thorough. I would book this team again without a second thought and recommend them to anyone visiting Moorea’s lagoon.

Thank you so much for your incredible and detailed review 🙏 We’re really happy to hear that you had such a great experience with us from start to finish, especially with the pickup and organization for your cruise stop. Tumate will be very proud to read your message 😊 He always does his best to avoid the crowds and create unique moments on the lagoon. We’re especially glad you experienced that “turtle gold” moment 🐢 — those encounters are always very special! And what a bonus with the eagle rays, sharks, and rays all in one trip 🦈✨ Thank you as well for your understanding about the dolphins — nature doesn’t always follow the plan, but we always do our best to make each tour memorable. We’re really happy you enjoyed the variety of spots and the overall experience of Moorea’s lagoon 🌴 We hope to welcome you again one day for another unforgettable adventure 😊

Wow! We had a great time on the lagoon tour. Initially, there was some miscommunication as to where we were supposed to meet the boat. Not sure if I put wrong pier in or not. Regardless, they made it even better than we ever anticipated. We swam with sharks, rays, beautiful fish and turtles. We saw so many spinner dolphins playing with their babies. It was a wonderful day. Thank you!! Would highly recommend.

Small tour group. Important to know, if you are on a cruise. The cruise tours are very crowded. We swam with sharks, sting Rays, colorful fish, turtles. Swam through coral reefs. We had so much time in the water. Never rushed. All equipment provided. We were on the Anthem of the Seas. Largest ship to ever dock there. We had to tender in, making us late. They were right there, waiting us. If snorkeling is where you want to do, this is the tour you need to take

    Perfect Day in Mo'orea

    Laura_K, Nov 2025
As I watched the Buses and Boats load up with 30, then 40 and and even 50 of our fellow Cruise Passengers, I thought, how did I get so lucky to pick this tour. Our day was to take a Boat Tour with for Snorkling and just see the beautiful island from the lagoon! But while the overloaded buses and boats took off, my husband and I joined a guide and boat driver with only 8 fellow passengers. We stopped at 3-4 very well selected snorkling stops (they had equipment for those who didn't), and we could swim, snorkle or just stare at the AMAZING scenery. The water is crystal clear around the lagoon. The underwater life is unbelievable. But not being a huge swimmer or snorkler (though I did both) just the day in the boat was perfect. We had lunch on a small island, with fresh fish the guide had caught the day before. The guide also prepared part of the meal showing us a local dish that was part of the meal. The day, the location, the tour, the food was so perfect! I cannot recommend this company high enough. Since we only had a few hours to see this amazing place, this tour really maximized the opportunity. Thank you, Enjoy Boat Tours and especially our very kind guide and driver!

Great place to visit, snorkelling was amazing but the captain of our boat had at least 3 cans of beer and we had money stolen from our bag and there was only 8 people on the trip. The owner reimbursed us for the money that was stolen which was something he didn’t have to do.

    Response from Host, Sep 2025

Thank you for your review. We would like to clarify a few details. During the trip, you mentioned to the captain and the other guests that your wallet contained $635, and that $35 were missing. It is indeed unusual that a thief would only take such a small amount, which unfortunately led to unfair suspicions towards the other guests and even the captain. When we reimbursed you, we asked exactly how much was missing. You replied, “I don’t know, maybe $35,” which was really unusual in this situation. Despite this, you were reimbursed immediately, and even more than the $35 reported missing, as we gave you 5,000 Pacific francs. When we gave you the 5,000 francs, you did not hesitate to take them and accepted them immediately. We did this as a goodwill gesture, even though the situation was not our responsibility. The captain brought you back earlier than planned, after lunch, on the islet where we usually have lunch, because the atmosphere on the islet with everyone was a bit tense. The captain preferred to bring you back to the ship after lunch to calm the situation. In 7 years of activity, this is the first time we have experienced a theft on board. Even with the captain, we have never had any issues before; he has always been reliable and respectful to our guests. However, we regret that this turned into a scene in front of the other guests and the captain, which made everyone uncomfortable. We still hope that you will keep good memories of the excursion and the beauty of the lagoon.

From start to finish the tour was excellent, we made our own way over from tahiti to moorea, driver picked us up on time, bit of confusion as minibus was not signed written with company name. The two captains where the nicest people you could ever want to meet, very funny & looked after us very well. Never felt rushed, swimming with black tip reef sharks was amazing. I would 100% recommend this tour & if back in tahiti area would do it again with these people.

The experience started at a sandbar that had sharks and rays. Next, we went to a channel that had some current and we saw turtles and Eagle rays a school of them.. next we went open ocean looking for whales, but did not find any whales to speak of. Then we returned back inside the reef to a shallow rest area. Then we had lunch on the Motu at the Tia Hura Coral Gardens.. The food was excellent. That area of the snorkeling was not good because it looked like the reef in that area was destroyed. Had we known better we might have had time to travel to a different area of the coral garden. That’s it..

It was beautiful. The guide and boat captain were very friendly. The fish I saw were absolutely stunning - and I was lucky enough to see sharks, stingrays and green turtles. Alas it wasn’t the day to see whales or dolphins unfortunately. But it didn’t matter. The trip was well worth it and probably enough for me as I am in my sixties!

    Mandy_R, Jul 2025
Crew was great! Wish we had more time in the water. We were taken to the two bays and they talked about their history and the differences and the chance to take pictures. Then, we swam with the sharks and rays for around 45 minutes. After that they took us to an area where turtles are known to be and we saw 2 come up. That was cool. After we were taken to an area with coral to snorkel and see some fish for about 30 minutes. I presumed from photo and the 4-6 hour description there would be lunch. However, rereading the description it says or “by lunch on the islet” which I think means “buy”. Price for lunch and additional 2 hours was reasonable ($40/pp), we chose to opt out though as we have picky eaters in our crew. We were picked up at dock at 8:45. Very convenient. Dropped off by 12:30. I did a very similar excursion at Bora Bora on an outrigger and we spent a lot of time in water, so I had different expectations. Had I not had a previous experience and something to compare to it would have been fine.

    Response from Host, Jul 2025

Thank you very much for your feedback and for joining our tour! We’re happy to hear that you enjoyed the crew and the experiences with the rays, sharks, turtles, and snorkeling. Each island in French Polynesia offers a unique experience, and tours in Moorea are quite different from those in Bora Bora. While Bora Bora often uses traditional outrigger canoes, our tours in Moorea are designed differently, based on the shape of the lagoon, the wildlife areas, and the timing. Regarding the tour duration, we offer both half-day (4 hours) and full-day (6 hours) options. The tour you joined was the half-day tour, which runs from 8:45 AM to around 12:30 PM. This version does not include lunch, as it finishes before lunchtime. The full-day tour includes additional stops and an optional lunch on the islet, available for an extra fee (about $40 per person). Also, please keep in mind that this was a shared tour, which means you were with other guests. It’s completely normal that there may be families with children onboard, and sometimes that can mean a bit more noise and energy during the tour. If you are looking for a more peaceful and private experience, we always recommend booking a private tour. We truly appreciate your comments, as they help us clarify our offers and improve our service. We would be happy to welcome you again in the future — perhaps for a longer or private tour — if you'd like to explore more in a quieter setting. Warm regards, Amo – Enjoy Boat Tour Moorea

    Fantastic tour

    Karmen_V, Jul 2025
It was amazing. Our hosts were kind and friendly and did everything to make us happy. We saw a bunch of dolphins, swam with big rays, small sharks and turtles. We got snorkeling equipment and fins. We really liked the underwater carved sculptures. We went to a small island where we were served an excellent lunch, grilled fish and meat, salads, drinks and the host prepared raw tuna in coconut milk for us live. I didn't expect there to be so many activities so this trip exceeded my expectations. Karmen and Leo from Croazia

Thank you so much, Karmen and Leo! It was a real pleasure to have you on board. We're so happy to hear that the tour exceeded your expectations and that you enjoyed the dolphins, snorkeling, and lunch on the motu. Unforgettable Private Snorkeling Adventure with Kali

    ANDRE_S, Jul 2025
We had a wonderful snorkeling experience with Kali. We booked last minute, and it was just my wife and me. Kali made sure that we felt comfortable at all times. We saw stingrays, reef sharks, sea turtles, and the coral garden with lots of colorful fish. Thank you, Kali, for sharing your love for Moorea with us and for the nice stop at your family's place on Motu Fareone.

Would give 10 stars if I could!

We've had an amazing day out on this tour. We've seen fish, sharks, rays, turtles and dolphins, and swam with all except the dolphins. We paid the extra cost for 2 hours extra and lunch, which was so worth the extra cost. We had lunch prepared for us on a secluded part of an island in the lagoon. We also got to spend quite a lot of time outside the lagoon (this is where the swimming with sharks bit happened). Guide and captain were amazing - sorry guys I can't remember your names. (Tamati? Michael?). There are free drinks available throughout the tour (water, juice, beer and rum punch) and snorkelling gear and flippers provided.
