Not a great experience, the tour guide was nice but that’s about it. The company needs to review who they are hiring, I am not expecting an expert but I am expecting informative and educational tour for that kind price. I think I will avoid this tour company from now on.

Carlos was great - he took us around Old Town and explained some history. We went through parts of the Underground enjoying the architecture as we walked, where old meets new, as well as Chinatown. He met us right at our hotel which was a plus.

We had a great experience with this travel company’s tour, everything from the communication pre- and post-tour to the actual tour itself. They contacted us via phone and text before the tour to confirm details and to explore our preferences and mobility issues. Then our actual tour guide, Carolina, also contacted us to confirm meeting details and preferences. She was even early and took us around Montreal to all of our preferred sites. She allowed us time to do some souvenir shopping too. She was kind and funny and informative.

Thomas was a friendly and knowledgeable guide and we got to see so much of the city! It was a lot of walking so make sure you wear comfortable shoes and bring water! This was a great introduction to Montreal from the highest point in the city to the water!

Our private tour guide, Carlos, for our group of 6 was exceptionally knowledgeable about the city that he loves, Montreal. He was exceptionally nice, patient and cordial. Per our request, we were treated to several places off the usual beaten path.

Gustavo was a great guy, interesting and informative and very sociable.
You need to be aware he is not a native of Canada and therefore he didn’t always know the answers to our questions. He did though show us and tell us things that you would only know by living in the city.
It’s not a traditional history filled tour, so be aware if that what you after, then this won’t be for you.
We are a 4 , 2 couples and overall we did all enjoy.

Our guide was 45 minutes late. She did text me and communicated regularly but we ended up with much less time. We made the best of it. She was sweet but hard to hear and wasn’t all that chatty. The company did refund half of what we paid which was the right thing to do and they did with no issues whatsoever. Good customer service!

This was the first tour of this type I've ever taken part in and we really enjoyed the personalized and customized nature of it. It's really one of the first tours we've taken in over two decades of traveling in which we felt we were in control of the program and itinerary. This made the experience a lot more fulfilling.

Our guide showed up sweaty like he had run there (running late maybe). At the start, he went next store to get water. Later stood in line at the water fountain. Okay fine… but I would’ve thought he’d be prepared for a 2hr tour - assuming he’s done it before.
He didn’t tell us much about the city and wasn’t passionate about it. He was friendly enough, but basically just walked us around and didn’t know the answers to our questions. He recommended taking a boat out to an island but couldn’t remember the name of it.
We concluded that maybe he was covering for someone else, and that this wasn’t something he normally did.
All in our group regret spending the time and $ on this.

It was interesting being guided by a college student from Eastern Europe. Her perspective on Montreal as a "college town" was useful. The flexibility of the tour was a positive. We walked the bustling shopping district on St. Catherine Street. The drawback was that her overall perspective on life and culture in Montreal and Canada in general was limited. She was conversational, but not deeply informed.

In all of our information, we outline that we provide unscripted walking tours through a city with a local - just as you would see a city if you had a friend showing you around. Lokafy allows travelers to connect with locals, and learn about the city from their perspective; things like what it's like to live there, advice on their favorite restaurants, and also connecting on a personal level.
As they are not professional tour guides, we do not require Lokafyers to have a detailed knowledge of the city’s history. We hope that the conversations you had with your Lokafyers helped you connect with them on a personal level.

This was our first time doing a Lokafy tour and it won’t be our last. Such a great way to get to know a place from a local’s perspective.
Our assigned guide reached out several days in advance to make some recommendations and get an idea of what we were looking for. Unfortunately she got sick and had to cancel the night before our tour. They assigned us a new guide and Carlos was excellent. He had a route planned but was happy to make changes to accommodate our requests including a quick shopping trip to get warmer gloves. Before our tour ended, he got us a subway map and made suggestions for things for us to see and do on our own. He also encouraged us to text him if we needed anything which was an especially nice touch. We felt like we made a friend.
