Enjoy a sightseeing dinner cruise along the Saint Lawrence River and Montreal’s beautiful waterfront, departing from the Conveyor Pier (Quai des Convoyeurs) at Promenade des Bouquinistes in the Old Port. This excursion covers the Saint Lawrence River with fascinating views of Montreal’s city skyline, attractions and neighboring islands.
The Cavalier Maxim is a modern dining ship with three exquisitely decorated glass-enclosed dining rooms, offering amazing river views of Montreal’s city skyline and attractions from every table. These inner dining areas offer plenty of comfortable seating with large picture windows to see the sites. There are also two distinctive, open-air, outdoor terraces and a dance floor.
For the 5-course dinner, there are appetizers, entrees and desserts. Enjoy a fresh salmon fillet, chicken supreme, or Braised Beef — plus the chef's delight for dessert. (Menu subject to change.) The onboard wine steward will offer beverage suggestions to complement the gourmet meal.
After eating, dance the night away to music with a live DJ.

What can we say — this was a 10 out of 10 experience!
Visiting Montreal for the first time this was truly a highlight.
A red-carpet evening aboard a stunning river cruise featuring a five-course gourmet meal made with locally sourced ingredients. Everything was perfect — from the elegant table settings and breathtaking scenery to the beautiful live instrumental music that set the mood.
After dinner, the celebration continued with a lively dance party on the upper deck, complete with a fantastic DJ and incredible energy. It was the perfect way to celebrate a milestone birthday — a complete surprise for my husband — made even more special when the staff arrived with a sparkling dessert and a heartfelt song.
This four-hour magical cruise exceeded every expectation. A huge thank-you to the entire team for creating such an unforgettable and joy-filled evening. We loved every moment and highly recommend.

We took the Red Carpet and chose the beef tenderloin and lobster tail for the main course. Unfortunately both were not very good (tough cut and dried out tail). The rest of the meal and drinks were excellent along with the cruise. Overall it was good, but I would stay away from the tenderloin.

The food was ok, but it takes awhile. The dancing was tons of fun, and the scenery was awesome. I would sail again.

It was an average dinner cruise. The time could be reduced from 3 1/2 hours to 3 hours without loss of experience.

I was very pleasantly surprised at the service , elegant table settings and dining experience complete with live dinner music. The food was delicious. The waitstaff professional and pleasant as well, After dinner, the DJ made such a fun party with a very well selected dance list and we had SO MUCH FUN dancing ! The best part was the spectacular night time view of the lit up city line and bridges as we returned to the dock.

the dinner cruise was great we enjoyed the music while sailing. on land we used the hope on hope off bus and we took the subway. for me this was a first in my life. i'm 87 years old. even had a trip to the ER it went well. it was a good time for all three of us..

Terrible acoustics in the dining room. Overpriced drinks.No dance music in the hall. Only a noisy disco on the deck. I would not return.

The music was so loud you could not easily converse with the server or each other. The foie gras was ice cold, looked like a meatball, and tasted nothing like foie gras. The entire meal took too long to serve.

Pretty disappointed with this excursion and it was the one we were really looking forward to the most. First, they were going to put us in a corner with our backs up against a wall and a side view of another wall. The person in the corner couldn’t even get up without making everyone else move. The table should never had been squeezed into there to begin with.
Next, the noise level was over the top. You couldn’t have a conversation directly across the table from you without yelling.
Third, the food. The appetizer was good. The main meal and dessert was average. Also, the servers never made it to our table to see if we wanted coffee after dinner. We saw them at other tables with the carafe, but they never came to ours.
Overall, a disappointing evening out for something we all had been looking forward to.

The cruise itself was a nice experience, and seeing Montreal from the water at night was beautiful. However, the “5-course gourmet meal” was very underwhelming and definitely not worth the price. The food didn’t live up to the expectations set by the advertising.
To make matters worse, our coffee cups and some of the utensils were dirty, which was disappointing and unacceptable, especially for a dining experience at this price point.
Overall, I’m glad I tried it once for the experience, but I wouldn’t do it again or recommend it based on the value for money

Music and atmosphere is unmatched. Quality of food and our service was not so great. Our server was horrible. We didn’t know soft drinks were extra, no problem but we should have been told. We were told a specific dish we asked about was extra so imagine the surprise when we got up to leave but was told we had a $30 charge for 3 Cokes!!!!

Very clean ship, comfortable, staff are very pleasant and helpful, we had the 5 course meal and it was amazing, the staff went out of their way to accommodate my wife's serious food allergy and ensured she had just as a incredible dining experience as I did.

Well work the trip. We were on the 3 plate dinner package. The food was excellent (4 choices of mains). We had our own table for 2 and around us were people on the 5 course package. We were happy with our package. We bought a bottle of white wine ,(price was what you'd expect around 78 Can Dollars with tax and tip added). Lots of water filled ups throughout the night. Never ran out, well done to the servers. During dinner there was harpist then saxophone player. After dinner we went upstairs to the high open deck area. There were lots of people dancing in the mid deck area. The views and evening lights of Montreal were amazing. A great journey into Port.

The food was unexpectedly good for a trip like this. We had the chicken and beef which were cooked to perfection as were the vegetables. Our waiter Sofia was very attentive and the entertainment was great. Not a huge amount to see outside. The toilets were clean and the boat comfortable.
Great from start to finish! The food was great, the live harpist and saxaphone player elevated the meal portion of the dinner. The boat tour was beautiful, going from day light to night. The only critique, I wish an announcement would have been made, for when the dancing/dj starts. Or, have the announcement placed on the TV that had the menu options running.
The service on the boat was top notch. Very friendly. The views were amazing as you move along the St Lawrence River. The entertainment was also very good. During dinner we had live performances from a Harpist (playing modern music) as well as a saxophonist doing the same. After dinner, there was a live DJ for dance music outside on the deck.
By far the best thing was the food. Very tasty and never overcooked. We had the 5 course meal and paid a little extra for the filet mignon once on the boat. Totally worth it though. The staff also supplied my wife with a candle on her dessert for her birthday making it extra special.
The service was smooth and professional from boarding to off boarding. The staff was very courteous and helpful, the service was great and the food was excellent.

The staff was friendly. The boat was clean. The food was really tasty. I had the red carpet experience. The entertainment was a harp player, and she was very talented and played some modern songs. Finally, at the end, we all went outside to dance to the dj's music, as we entered back into the port. It was so much fun!.

The 5 course dinner cruise was a wonderful experience and a great treat for my husband and I. Beer and pizza would have been fine with us, but this let us live a little outside of our norm. The servers were attentive and accommodating and the DJ was energetic. I would definitely do it again.
