Overview
Rent an electric bicycle in Montepulciano and visit the wineries of Tuscany without getting too tired. Thanks to the extra sprint it gives you over hilly terrain, the electric bike is the perfect way to explore the country lanes and soak up the landscape of the famous wine region. Our guide Piergiorgia, was wonderful. He was extremely friendly & knowledgeable about both the land & vineyards. We had such a fantastic time learning about the wine making process & enjoying the other guests apart of the tour. We highly recommend this bike tour.

It was a fun experience, since you use your own phone to follow preset routes. You bike at your own pace through the country side hitting wineries at certain set times to learn about the history, the wine and the region. Of course you sample their wines and are fed food, snacks, and of course breads. It was easy once you leave the busy town and was worth doing. The people at the wineries were great, and full of passion and knowledge.

Great way to tour local wineries outside Montepulciano, especially with teenagers! Fun for all! We were on dirt roads for most of the 1/2 day tour and barely saw another person! Beautiful experience in Tuscany!

This is not for anyone who hasn’t been on an e-bike and it’s not off road as the photos would represent. We traveled main roads between wineries. That said, Italians are kind to bikers/cyclists and I never felt unsafe. Both wineries we visited were lovely. We had one of our best meals in Italy during this excursion! Urban Bikery was an upscale store with great staff. A unique experience for sure and be sure to leave yourself extra time to explore the town!

Great fun!! This excursion was a full day with stops at 2 wineries and a stop for lunch. Beautiful views of the Montepulciano countryside. Bikes were easy to use and the preloaded GPS worked great. Only suggestion would be a different place for lunch. Where we stopped took way too long. We would have preferred somewhere quicker with a cleaner atmosphere. Overall a wonderful experience!

UrbanBikery was really cool, the bikes were easy to use, the instructions were great. The first part of the tour was awesome with incredible views and the first winery was fantastic. We could have stayed there all day sipping wine and learning about the region. Lunch was one of our favorite meals of the entire trip. After that though it went downhill- Or rather, UPHILL. After lunch, it's a 60-minute ride at a steady incline with no breaks on dirt/rock roads that were badly rutted, being passed by tourist cars and getting covered in dust and dirt. We almost didn't make it to the 2nd winery but had no choice but to keep going- By the time we arrived at the 2nd winery, which was pretty fancy, we were soaked with sweat and covered in dust, while the other guests who drove there looked at us like we were lunatics. We ended up calling a taxi to take us back to the bike shop and they went back for our bikes. It would have been another 45 minute ride up a steep mountain- I'm honestly not sure how they expect casual bike riders to complete that journey even with e-bikes. We saw loads of professional- looking cyclists who were in about as bad shape as we were. The guy at the bike shop said if we get to lunch and want to turn around, they would refund us the 2nd half of the trip- Now I know why he said that! The taxi could barely make it up that mountain and back into town, let alone our e-bikes.

Wow, wow wow is how I have to start this review! Enrico was our guide and I have to say in all my travels. he is the best guide I have ever had. When you book your tour with Urban Bikery make sure you get a guide and make sure it’s Enrico! They are very lucky to have him in their employment! This bike trip is incredible. You go through the Tuscany region back roads to wineries for tastings and if you choose, you can stop for lunch. Enrico took us to a wonderful Cantina where they had the most incredible homemade food and wine. The scenery is more than breathtaking! And to be right in the middle of it on a bike is indescribable! You will have to take a cab or bus from the train station to Multipulciano. Then the Urban Bikery is right in the main square. We walked right in no waiting. We pulled our bikes out and Enrico gave us a little tutorial on the bikes and we were off. We left at about 10 o’clock in the morning and came back at about 5:30 PM. Enrico was so very knowledgeable and so much fun. We laughed so hard all day long. It was an experience of a lifetime and I highly recommend it!

Urban Bikery was great! They gave us all the stops and how to use them with Google Maps. The last stop however was a bit difficult to get to. Vineyards were great, stopped for lunch half way through.

I initially wanted to do the horseback riding through the vineyard, but the minimum requirement was two people. As a solo traveler, that was not happening. When I came across this, however, there was no minimum! I loved incorporating nature and exercise while exploring the Tuscany. I was able to bike through the vineyards, see the plants up close, and enjoy the sunshine while listening to my music. The e-bike made the hills easier to tackle, and the phone holder made navigating safe. The first winery was Boscarelli and I really appreciated the detailed tour and tasting. I ended up shipping six bottles back to the US! The wine was delicious. I didn't finish the bike ride, as I got lost on my way to the second winery, but I thoroughly enjoyed the scenery and time in nature. Would recommend!

This turned out to be one of my favourite activities of my entire Italy trip. I didn’t read the information correctly when booking and wasn’t expecting this to be self directed and self paced. But this was a blessing in disguise as it allowed me to stop at the most breathtaking views (there were alot!) and go at my own pace. The introduction to the e bikes was excellent, with helmets and backpacks available. Terrific off road e bikes with 4 assistance levels that made going up hills tolerable! The entire route is provided and uses your phone (make sure you pack a portable charger). Two winery bookings are made for you- you just need to follow the path to get there. Live assistance was available throughout the day, making you feel safe and supported, even when doing this solo. Consider booking directly through Urban Bikery for a better deal.

This is a good adventure. We road to the second winery which was the best one. The scenery is beautiful once you reach the countryside. My wife, unfortunately is not a strong bike rider, so she had trouble finishing the ride. Be aware of this before signing up. Stronger riders shouldn’t have any trouble. The operator was very kind, coming out to pick us up.
