Spending 3 hours in Tepito with Lili, who grew up there, was the highlight of my trip to Mexico. She is an amazing guide, fluent in English, who took me everywhere in this historic and infamous "barrio" which has existed since before the conquistadores came. This is the real Mexico City - not a tourist trap. You will see the famous market, the famous boxing gym that spawned champion boxers, the Sainte Muerte altar and you will eat the most delicious street food inside Tepito. Unforgettable and highly recommended.

To be able to be welcomed into the heart of Tepito with Nelly was a great experience and one I’ll never forget. Don’t let the sensationalist press and absurd influencer videos about this neighborhood form your opinion. If you’re in Mexico City, take this tour and experience Tepito for yourself

I had a fantastic experience on my tour of Tepito. My guide Gaby was very knowledgeable about Tepito as she has lived there all her life clearly having a deep connection to the area. I have to say I never felt in any danger it is clear that all the guides know how to navigate the area well, and are known by locals. I would recommend the VIP tour as you get longer in Tepito- more time to really experience it. I would also recommend Gaby as a guide if you get the chance, she was a very friendly and interesting guide.

Nelly was an excellent tour guide. She waited for me as I was extremely late due to the traffic. She is so sweet and gave me such a good historical background on all the stops from the churches to the neighborhood to the soccer field. It was great to see another side of Mexico

The Tepito tour was wonderful. Our guide was excellent and offered plenty of insight into the wild world of the market! He had a 6 and 10 year old with us and they had a great time. Our guide took many pictures with her phone and indicated we would be able to get the pictures, but I haven't been able to make that happen - reached out via Viator. Anyway, recommend connecting with her via Whatsapp or perhaps just use your own device for pictures.

I loved the tour of Tepito. My guide was Nelly, and she grew up in Tepito and so, was extremely knowledgeable about the history, culture and socio-economic condition of the neighborhood. I started the tour with a certain (un-educated) perspective and left with a totally different view. The people are wonderful...the food is exceptional and the experience is totally unique. Nelly was a prize!

Went with Daughter who is 4 and wife. Nelly was our guide. 10/10 l, I'm going to try to doordash her family's delicious soup restaurant which was on Anthony Bourdaine show. Found very nice shoes and ate really, really yummy liver tacos. A statement I never thought I'd have in life but everything was great. Also the Church we saw was one of the prettiest I've seen in the world. From a family from the US, thank you for showing me so much love.

Don't think twice, book immediately. While in CDMX I participated in multiple excursions and tours, hot air ballon rides, food and drink tours, futbol matches and NOTHING came close to this experience. Nelly was my guide for the day and I can't say enough great things. Tepito was amazing, but the real prize was Nelly. She was so kind, patient, knowledgable and made the experience the best tour ever. You will walk the maze of the markets, see the triangle of churches, visit the shrine of Santa Muerte (and maybe meet Doña Queta). The best compliment I can give is that even though I've already taken the tour and seen Tepito, I'd probably do it again! Side note, Migas la Güera is worth the trip alone. It is quite literally the best tour I've ever taken in any country. Thank you so much Nelly (and Gabby)!

Traveling to Tepito as a research, travel fellow for my university as a masters of architecture student Gaby was incredibly helpful. We were able to see anything and everything Tito and understand why this part of the city has been so important to Mexico City history this is a must do I would definitely encourage anyone, passing to the city to take time and do this tour. They are amazing and will help you with anything.

So glad i went ahead with this tour. Gaby and Martin were so excellent and friendly, their in depth knowledge of Tepito made this tour such a great experience. You feel safe at all time on this tour; they were there at the meeting point before I was (and I was early!) and they waited until I got on my Uber home. If not for this tour, would never in a million years imagine I could have the experience of going to Tepito and learning so much about it. Muchas Gracias!

I travel solo and I’ve never been the kind of person who enjoys famous tourist spots. I prefer learning more about underground, even dark local places so when I read about this tour I know I had to go. The guides are very kind and friendly locals who made me feel very welcome. I expected them to only show me a few places but I’ve seen so much and learned so much about Tepito. There’s a very strong vibe of community in this place which I don’t see in my country so it was really magical to experience it. When I come back I’ll definitely get another tour with them.

My guide was Nellie . What a wonderful person . I absolutely loved her company . She took me all over the area , we ate we drank we ate some more , she showed me so much and even got to meet Enriqueta Romero at the santa muerte shrine.
Her knowledge of the area was brilliant. I wasn't too worried about the neighbourhood as I've been to some dodgy places. Tepito I think is very underrated. I found it charming and oozed character and I loved how real it all was . Don't be talked out of it letting people tell you it's a bad thing. If your open minded do it !! One of my highlights after seeing and doing so much in my favourite city .

My tour guide was Gabriela. This experience was well worth it! At no point in time did I ever feel unsafe considering it was just her and myself. Gabriela showed me some of the best spot/stands in Tepito. Since she is from the neighborhood, her knowledgeable is extensive and she even showed me the neighborhood that she resides in. The locals were great and friendly. I’d highly recommend this for anyone interested in getting to know Tepito.

Having done the common tours in multiple areas of Mexico City, I thought I'd do this tour, of an area that I knew little about. It was amazing! It's a different side of Mexico City that most people don't see, but should. It had an amazing market (largest in North America), great food (Anthony Bourdain agrees), and a rich culture. There's even some Santa Muerte in here! Gaby and Martin were excellent hosts and guides. They were charming and explained the history and culture of the area. Gaby, who grew up there, seemed to know everyone and everyone treated her, and us, like family. If you're looking for a an extraordinary, off the beaten path experience, I highly recommend that you add this tour to your vacation.

It was a great tour. Not only did I get to see all the Tepito areas that were difficult to reach on my own, but I also got to know its history and culture in depth.
Tepito is not a dangerous area for foot traffic, and I was asked how I would deal with Tepito in the presence of people who live there and those who do. Vague fears dissipated by the end of the tour.
