My husband and I spent an evening on a walking history tour of Melbourne with our guide Maria, and it turned out to be one of the most fun ways to explore the city. She shared the origins of Melbourne with plenty of personality, led us through colourful artwork tucked into hidden laneways, and AC/DC Lane and Hosier Lane were clear highlights. Along the way she pointed out secret speakeasy locations, walked us through the old red light district, showed historic theatres and an old-school men’s club, and kept the night moving with cocktails at several bars. After the tour they sent us maps and local tips for the rest of our time in Melbourne, which was a really nice touch. Great stories, great walk, great way to see a different side of the city — highly recommend.

We really enjoyed our tour tonight learning about Melbourne’s history and visiting some cool bars . Tom was an excellent tour guide with great knowledge of the history of the city and the city itself . He was engaging and entertaining sharing some very interesting stories about Melbourne’s history . The small group of 6 was excellent and we all ended up going to a bar for a drink after the tour . I highly recommend this tour as a great way to spend a night in Melbourne

We had such a great time on this tour! We booked it at the last minute, so we weren’t sure what to expect, but our guide, TESS, did not disappoint. She took us on a walk through the streets of Melbourne, stopping at three different cocktail bars. While we walked, she stopped at certain landmarks and laneways and told us stories and history that related to what we were seeing. It was so informative! We learned so much. We had a great group and everyone got along really nicely, the drinks were super tasty, and the cocktail bars we stopped at were incredibly cool and memorable. One of my favourite things about this tour was that we also learned so much about Australian history and Melbourne history. It wasn’t all about drinking, although Tess did manage to weave in drinking and alcohol related facts and stories into her talks. I definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Melbourne. Do it on your first day because you will see and learn about places you’ll want to go back to later, plus Tess gave us a list of additional cocktail bars we could try. The entire experience really made our visit to Melbourne extra special!

We thoroughly enjoyed this tour. Brigette, our guide, provided a wealth of information. The group consisted of six females, which naturally led to a considerable amount of conversation. The tour took us to three different bars, each with its distinct character and history, serving outstanding cocktails. We also explored several laneways and visited historic buildings with rich histories. This tour is a highly recommended experience for visitors to Melbourne.

Tom and the tour itself were wonderful! We went to some of the best places in Melbourne and everyone had a grand time. The cocktail selections were brilliant as was the commentary between stops.
