Spend a haunting evening immersed in Melbourne’s supernatural history. Hear some of the tragic tales and ghostly legends that pepper the city’s past while your entertaining local guide leads you on a walking tour. Choose from one of three different itineraries — Old Melbourne, Williamstown or Pentridge Prison (see Itinerary below for details). With the Old Melbourne and Williamstown tours, you can opt to include dinner at a haunted historic pub.

The tour was great, even if you aren't the biggest believer in spooky stuff, the history is always really interesting. Our tour guide was particularly good at dealing with the drunk hecklers that were wondering around after the cricket. Great atmosphere overall.

Depending on the booking the group could be quite large. We thought a smaller group (e.g. maximum of 15) would have been better.
The tour we did was not actually that spooky but some gruesome details were provided so if you think you're even slightly squeamish, don't do it.
The guide was genuinely enthusiastic and did her best to get the group involved. The 'spiritual' divining rods certainly added a point of difference.
Was something a bit different so was worth doing. It pays to go in with an open mind.

Firstly do go and enjoy a meal at the Young Jackson hotel which is the meeting point for the tour it’s a great atmosphere and really nice meals.
I was lucky our tour was a small group and the tour intwines the history of Melbourne with those who do not want to leave, but have left us on this side so to speak.
Overall it was my first tour and I really recommend it

As the only thing we had time to do in Melbourne, this tour was spot on!

We really enjoyed the ghost tour. We’ve been coming to Melbourne a few times a year for 17 years and it’s good to learn more about the history of Melbourne and it’s people. The tour is a great opportunity to walk up and down the little back streets that we’ve hardly even noticed in the past.
Ash was our tour guide and she did an awesome job. The weather was great too which made the experience perfect.

More of a history tour. Much of the walk was poorly lit maybe good to have a couple more lanterns. It would have been good to go into some of the places instead of just looking at the outside of a building

Loved the tour! Most of all loved that we got to see the pics of others who have gone on the tour! I also enjoyed the stories of the prisoner's who were once celled there. I would highly recommend doing it.

Be aware that this tour is located about 30 minutes outside of the city. We took an uber, but the alternative with the train would have taken awhile. I have been on ghost tours in other parts of the world, and this was by far the creepiest. You learn about the history of the prison, but the tour also aims to create an element of fear, if you like that kind of stuff, this is for you! I found it slightly misleading that it stated it was in Melbourne, but farther out from the city center,

More history, than ghost. Need better instructions on how to meet tour guide. Maybe a sign to direct people. Guide needs to also carry sign, umbrella etc. so the tourists can follow them easily. Had trouble seeing him in the crowds of people.

A very informative tour guide who was great at setting the tone for the evening. We had a party of 9 for our daughter's 18th birthday, and everyone enjoyed the tour and all the information of the histroy we just did not realise of our city. Not really that spooky given how busy the city was, but still a lot of fun.

On our ticket it said meet at federation square it never said where to meet we got there at 5 past 8 looking everywhere for a sign or a person i doubled checked my ticket to see if i had missed something etc so we never got to go on tour which was a birthday present for my partner

Dinner at Young and Jackson was great and a good way to kick off the tour. Matt was on time and full of information. I saw parts of Melbourne that I had not seen before so that was eye-opening and the history was interesting. All in all a great way to start our weekend break in Melbourne.
