Amazing experience.. Its is a long day of travelling but with plenty of stops and the views are spectacular.. We got the full tour of Ouarzazate which is a sight to behold and our guide was excellent ( he was at an extra cost but well worth it).. After lunch we all had a choice between the town or the Atlas studios, I was the only traveller who chose the studios but it was not bother to the driver and he dropped me off and collected me after an hour. The studios are amazing and I highly recommend them too.. Thank you all for such a great day.

The local guide was awful. Only notified is that we can go inside the Kasbah for a fee on out way back to the city center for lunch, we could have visited the Kasbah. He was not taking much and demanded that at the end of the tour, we will pay him 30MAD.

Please note that local guides at certain sites operate independently, and entrance to the Kasbah is optional and subject to availability, especially if there are renovation works or schedule constraints. This is a must see! Our driver today was AMAZING and we had the best time! He made our day trip really special and was very kind and accommodating for our daughter, even teaching her basic Arabic and answering lots of questions. We had a great time! I highly recommend him!!! Thank you!

On time pick up. Imad was an excellent driver, companion, and by the end of day, friend. I have a minor mobility challenge and Imad could not have been more helpful - adjusting the itinerary as appropriate and helping me in and out of the car. The tour was exactly as described - excellent - but the highlight for us was Imad’s recommendation of a restaurant overlooking the Ait Benhaddou Kasbah - great value, fantastic views and even a wee sand storm to add to the atmosphere.

Beautiful location, but very long drive

We left from Marrakesh and it took about 4 hours to drive to Ait Benhaddou. The old town is amazing, but the second we parked the driver told us our guide was coming. I thought our trip included the guide, but the guy said his services started at 200 dirhams, about $20. I felt like we didn't have a chance to decline or look for anyone else. The guide walked us through in about an hour. He had us stop at several shops - I think he was trying to get us to buy local souvenirs. We then went to the movie studio and toured it but had to pay extra for the entry and tour. Afterwards we drove into Ouarzazate but there wasn't much there. We got out to look at the old kasbah but we're surrounded by tour guides so we decided to just leave. All in all it was a beautiful part of Morocco and a cool location, but I don't think I would do it again. We spent about 8 hours in the car for about 2.5 hours of tours/sightseeing.

Day trip to Ourzazate

Aadel was a very experienced and safe driver which you appreciate on this trip! We enjoyed Ait Ben Haddon but our young guide had difficulty answering our questions due to his language proficiency. The Atlas Movie studio has tours at set times and we did not want to wait 20 min for the 1 +hour tour. It’s a long day of driving, but one highlight for us was seeing the Noor Solar array.

Unpleasant Experience

No issues with guide or vehicle. However, we were not aware the roads between Marrakech and Ouarzazate were under construction and the 10-hour round trip was torturous. Mountainous switchbacks, I got mild car sickness even though I rode in the front seat. Chewed several ginger gums the entire trip. Had to stop several times for construction work. Road conditions were hazardous, several areas of enormous rock boulders above us with no circumnavigation available if there was a land slide. Was stopped by police for inspection, one of our co-travelers in the middle seat did not have a seatbelt on. Was fined 300 dirhams ($30 US) which she had to pay. We don’t remember guide telling us seatbelts were mandatory. We only saw Ait-Ben-Haddou from a distant viewing point. It was too late to cross the bridge and hike into the structures. Atlas studio tour in Ouarzazate was fun and our guide was interesting. Overall would not do again because of the road condition and not being able to really experience Ait-Ben-Haddou. Guide told us they’ve been working on the roads for the past 4 years.
