Perfect daytrip in the Atlas Mountains

If you are like me and like culture and nature, then tid daytour is for you. It was a lovely walk seeing Berber culture and the beautiful nature they live in. Finished with a lovely lunch it was the perfect day. Strongely recommended.

I liked the experience and the guide was amazing speaking 5 languages!! The stops are good but its not a hiking experience at all. The prices for the food are higher than expected (they say its 70dirham but the restaurant will charge you 130 plus expected tips!). Overall it was good.

good experience but a little difficult hike

this was a great experience and omar was super knowledgeable and helpful, his picture taking skills were a 10/10! i will say that as a non hiker but a generally in shape person, the hike was more difficult than i was expecting. we also weren't able to take the van to the top for lunch as it said in the description. i think multiple people in our group were confused about the severity of the hike because one couple had on jeans and casual sneakers.

Great day out

Great day out! Hassan and team were fab. Obligatory stop to see argan oil being made the traditional way with no pressure to purchase. Omar was our guide and took us up the top of the mountain for a lovely lunch and then safely back down via the waterfall. Note: steps down are challenging make sure you make wear the appropriate footwear.

A great experience

This trio was excellent. Our guide Hassan and driver Hisham were both excellent. The communication about the trio, the experience itself, in fact everything was fantastic! Hassan is born and bread in the mountains and knows the area (along with every person you’ll meet) incredibly well. His nickname (Kao Kao - I’m writing phonetically !!!) will ring in your ears as everyone greets him with a smile. You’re in safe hands - that’s for sure. Also having a fresh Tajine cooked by Hassan’s wife in the terrace was fantastic Both Hassan and Hisham were kind and considered, they looked after us well. This was an easy hike and parts of it were busy but Hassan knows all the tricks and quickly guided us away from the maddening crowds. There so much more you could do and maybe one day we’ll come back - when we do Hassan will Be our go to.

Well organised and fantastic experience

We would highly recommend this tour. A relaxed walk up to the waterfalls with a stop for mint tea, then continued across the valleys. Kamal was an excellent guide and very knowledgeable, living in the local area. Stunning views of the Atlas Mountains. Lunch was delicious - home-cooked tajine at the family home. Easy transfer, direct from the hotel - thanks to Hichame. Good communication throughout booking. Excellent value recommended for anyone wishing to have a break from the hustle and bustle of Marrakesh. Thanks again for a brilliant tour!

A Worthwhile Excursion Out of the Hubbub of Marrakesh

Guide Omar is a force of nature. Polymath, polyglot, and able to charm and joke with a multi-cultural crowd. I lucked out with a lovely mix of people from different countries, a family, a couple and their friend and teen son, and a fellow solo traveler. Everyone had great energy. The hike is not difficult but it is not American "easy". I recommend wearing some hiking shoes or old shoes just to keep the sneakers clean. The meal was tasty and healthy. My favorite part of the hike was the descent, it was quiet, natural, and fresh.

Memorable Mountain Tour

We had an exceptional experience on our mountain tour. Our guide, Hassan, was incredibly friendly and engaging, particularly with our daughters. He was knowledgeable, answering all of our questions and enriching our journey with numerous interesting facts. The drive was equally pleasant, thanks to our driver, Hichame. He ensured a safe and relaxed trip without any rush or dangerous driving. Hichame's friendly demeanor greatly enhanced our experience. Our daughters particularly enjoyed riding a donkey up the mountain and sipping fresh orange juice at the cascades—a must-try! The meal was exceptional, prepared by Hassan’s wife, who did a fantastic job. We were also fortunate to witness the preparations for a Berber wedding, adding a unique touch to our visit. Keep the names Hassan and Hichame in mind; they will ensure your journey is memorable.

A worthy trek up the High Atlas

Very impressed with this tour of Mophasa’s Berber village up in the high Atlas Mountains. It’s truly stunning. I’d say the first part of your tour is typical of a tour - going to tourist shops and a local goods manufacturer (argon oil) but the real highlight is when you reach the base of the mountain. This is a pretty moderate trek 2200 meters up. It’s definitely doable and worth it. If you get to meet his nephews you’ll be in for a real surprise as the kids are very entertaining!!

Hassan is Fantastic!

This was a fantastic tour! Well organised, left on time from a very easy to spot location in the Medina. Driver was fantastic and cautious on the roads - but the real difference was made with Hassan. He was a fantastic guide, showed us around a series of villages near Imlil - and let us hike at our pace and difficulty. We ended up hiking near 3 hours across the valley passing from village to village, seeing a nice waterfall near Imlil. However, the highlights were walking the top of the valley with the views. Hassan was gracious enough to answer a TON of questions we had, and even brought us to lunch at his family home. Hassan's kindness, knowledge, and patience made the experience fantastic. If you're looking for a nice hike through beautiful mountain scenery, this tour is a great and inexpensive choice. Much less touristy than other day-trips in the region, and provides you with an experience that feels authentic!

A lovely hike up the Atlas Mountains with Hassan

The Atlas Day trip was quite smooth and lovely overall, special thanks to Hassan who was a great tour guide to us. First we were picked up in a private van, then taken to our first stop on the way to the mountains to experience the process of Argan oil making where we stopped to enjoy a hot cup of moroccan tea and bread with Amlou. We then started our hike form the base of the mountains where we met Hassan who walked us through his village, the Berber culture, the beautiful sights and finally to his house up in the mountains where his lovely family prepared a lovely meal for us (chicken tagine). We ended up doing this tour on Eid day, April 10th, we appreciated that he took the time out for us and welcomed us to his home where we were met with utmost hospitality.

The 3 of us were picked up from our hotel to the Atlas Mountains with 2 stops enroute, a beautiful Berber art shop then a woman’s cooperative. Our journey through the flat countryside then up the steep roads to the mountains was beautiful and our driver very informative. We were met by Hassan who was very polite, courteous and spoke very good English. We walked to the waterfalls then down through the valley and up to his house where his wife had made us a tasty lunch. This was eaten on his terrace with stunning views. Everyone was very friendly and we thoroughly enjoyed the day.

Def Worth A Try!

Want to get out of the city and get to know the real Morocco, then this hike is definitely worth a try. From the very prompt pickup from our Riad by 9 am to the scenic drive to the mountains, every aspect of our journey was on point. The moment we got to the mountains, the air felt so different (pure). Our mountain guide 'Omar' was very expressive and that made the hike pretty fun and interesting. We stopped by the waterfall for some pictures (actually a lot of places) and on the way up, we were able to pluck and eat some fresh cherries. On our path, we stopped by several shops to get some items like carpets, jackets, and accessories. What I loved the most about this trip was learning about their cultures while seeing how the locals interact with one another as well as the view from the top after the long climb. Definitely worth the trip.

Amazing Atlas trip with a great Tour Guide.

This tour was amazing our driver collected us on time 8.40 am so not too early, from our hotel in Marrakesh and said we need to pick up 1 other couple enroute and then our tour guide Mohammed will meet us along the way. The car was an aircon'd SUV and big enough for 6 people having a row each. The journey is 2.5 hours from Marrakesh so Mohammed gave us multiple stops to stretch our legs, take pictures and talk to us about where we are and some history about the area. Along the route he also stopped to buy us all a bottle of water which was kind. The atlas mountain is BEAUTIFUL with a snow capped mountain in the background surrounded by the sun looked amazing. The hike is short BUT steep, Mohammed said we might get cold but being from the UK and hiking in 35+ heat we decided to just go in our shorts and Tshirt which was the best, we were so hot and not cold at all. You can swim in the waterfall but this is freezing! Although really refreshing after doing a hike. The hike ends at Mohammed's family home, which is also now split in half to become a guest house. He asked if anyone was a vegetarian to ensure all dietary needs were met and we had a lovely Tagine, with salad and bread. There was no rush to leave and once we had finished we were taken on a different short 5 minute route back down to the driver, who took us back to Marrakesh and we arrived back by 4.30pm. It was a lovely day trip and great to learn about the Berbers. Thank you Mohammed
