A very long trip along a winding...

A very long trip along a winding mountain pass in an uncomfortable minibus with minimal suspension! The driver dropped us away from the main bridge entering Ait Ben Haddou to be met by a guide whose sole intent seemed to be to shepherd us via friends/relatives/shops of no interest to us. His knowledge of the site seemed limited to various films who used it as a location with little history or context about the site itself. After his tour you are encouraged to use his favourite restaurant. My advice, don't bother with a guide or the rip off restaurant, do your homework before you go, it will pay dividends. If you can afford it take the trip in a Land Cruiser......
