Long days but fun

Siobhan_B, Feb 2025
Good aside from the fact that it’s not door to door as advertised but the workers in the desert were amazing

If you can stomach the journey to the desert, you will have a great time… but the journey to the desert is terrible!!

Evi_V, Sep 2022
I know… this will read as ‘a Karen story’ but… just wanted to warn you!! Take the trip, it is worth it, but… First advice: make sure you upgrade to the tent with private bathrooms! These tents are in a separate group and you get a bigger variation of food, drinks are included, bigger tents etc… Second advice: if the driver of the van tells you ‘no airco, open Windows’ : don’t believe him! He has airco, but they typically do not like to use it, which results in him being comfortable because he has a ventilator in front and the passengers being overheated because the wind is just hot… ours made us sit in the overheated van for the entire trip, and after we realised the airco was working, he turned it on for the last hour or so… it made all of us really mad…. The stay in itself was what I was expecting, nice people at the tents, great food, good accommodation Third advice: the drive takes 10 hours, not 6! Be prepared for that. It will make you less frustrated… i am sure! There is a lot of construction work going on on the roads, which slows down traffic. Our driver tried to make up for the lost time and drove like crazy!! He nearly got us killed, at least 5 times. People got sick in the bus due to his driving style. People got upset and started crying… not the best experience… Final advice: go for it! Make sure to force yourself up the dune in the morning to see the sun rise! It is calming and beautiful! But, this view is only possible if you book with viator (normal tents and luxury tents). If you book ‘on the streets of Marrakesh’ you will be placed in the tents on the other side of the street (no dunes in sight, no bathroom facilities, no water etc…) so pay the 5€ extra for the normal tent with viator of you want to do this… And upgrade to the better tents if you do not want to share a bathroom. Overall: the journey was terrible, but the stay at the tent was as they promised and really nice!

First of all thank you for giving us the time and leaving us your opinion on this desert tour, and for information the trip is already predefined for 8 hours and not 6 hours, you may have missed it at time of booking, and the fact that you did 10 hours you lived yourself that there is a construction site throughout the "Tiz In Tichka" pass, we apologize so much because the driver you had did not was not up to par, but promise to avoid some bad behavior from our part.

Desert Trip - AMAZING; everything else - meh

Sue_s, Dec 2019
so my sister really wanted to go on a desert trip during our trip in morocco and i stumbled upon this offer online and thought that "this should be good" since it encompassed everything she wanted to do. pick up was swell, ride to the desert was long so make sure you bring comfortable pillows - there was no AC in the van (or the driver at least didnt put it on) . including the tours, the ride to and back is 10 hours each way. the drop off though was a big hassle. the driver at the end just dropped off majority of the people at the jemaa el fnaa and told us to go our separate ways when we were guaranteed a ride back to our riad. the contact person stated it was our fault that we should have called them for a ride to our riad and then proceeded to state that our riad is unaccessible and so the driver just "dropped us off at the nearest entrance" - IT WAS A 20 MINUTE WALK THROUGH THE SQUARE WHERE IT IS FILLED WITH MEN AND THEIR HARASSEMENT. not pleasant AT ALL. at the end, the contact person FINALLY apologized and they offered to give us a free excursion but we already had plans so we just parted ways. ouzazarte tour was not good at all - the guide kept bringing us into these carpet places where the prices are sky high and the owners would not let us leave until someone bought something- the people kept harassing me to buy something when i clearly told them no (they kept saying "no need to buy. what do you want. come to the back. i tell you good price"). SUPER annoying. the lunch places they select for us super pricey and not good at all. same for the kasbah ait ben haddou tour that we went on where the tour guide asks for money at the end but the kasbah has no entrance fee so you can just go visit the kasbah by yourself (such a rip off). ANYWAYS, despite all the negatives, I saved the best for last: the DESERT TOUR!!! honestly, it felt sketchy because the driver just dropped us off in the middle of the road and told us to go with these camel drivers so they could've led us to the middle of the desert to die for all we know LOL. but its all good! we're all safe and sound. the camel ride was 1.5 hour going and 45 coming back- be prepared to be sore LOL. the desert camp (we upgraded ours and it was so worth!) was gorgeous. amazing dinner, entertainment, stars, bedroom, bath, breakfast, sunrise, sanddunes. Mohammad was great. took pics of us on the camel. the stars were beautiful. highlight of this tour for sure. despite the bad, this was well worth it!

Dear Traveler , Thank you for posting this review and we’re sorry to hear that your experience was not of the quality you expected. we are known for taking ownership and caring deeply about our customers as mentioned on many previous reviews. we are sorry for the drop off , it was a misunderstanding the driver who forget your right address he should drop you at accessible point to your accommodation , in this case you should call us to can intervene and send you other driver to drop you to the nearest point cause you accommodation in not accessible by car. for the guide in Kasbah Ait ben haddou is optional if you are interested in the history of the la kasbah you can take it and pay for 3 euros if you don't want you can do the visit by yourself. we try always to avoid the shopping in Ouarzazate shops but is out of our hand they promise us to don't push our customers to buy but noway cause there are other customers who are interested to take memories from this nice city. we are happy that you had enjoyed the camel ride and camp services . All the best

The best experience ever!

Josefina_A, Dec 2019
It was excellent! The trip is long but the vans are comfortable and have wi-fi. The driver very friendly as well as Ahmed our guide to the dromedaries. The camp was beautiful, comfortable beds, clean bathroom and delicious food! The only negative was the second restaurant they took us which seemed expensive and ugly in addition to the second guide, which was "free" but after the tour he asked us to pay him. Taking that aside the first restaurant was rich and abundant although it is not included. I recommend bringing coins to use the bathrooms during the trip!

Response from Host, Dec 2019

Dear Happy Guest , Thank so much for taking the time to leave us such nice review . i'm so happy to hear that our staff and services ( transportation , foods , camp, camel ride ..) met your needs and expectations. We apologize for the second restaurant service really it was an exception ,we ensure this doesn’t happen again. All the best

Average/ Don't reccomend - WIll not be booking again

sahana s, Nov 2019
This tour was incredibly average, honestly, we will not be booking it again. The drive from Marrakesh to the desert was about 6-8 hours and the roads were horrible and windy, we had no guide with us delivering facts or information about what we were seeing we were just in a car and everyone was feeling sick. We stopped in a town for lunch, the food was expensive and bad so I recommend bringing your own lunch if you do go on this tour. Then when we finally got to the desert our group of 17 people was split off, 5 of us went to one camp about 45 minutes away by camel, 2 others went to another and the rest of the group went to a camp 20 minutes away by camel (they could see the campsite from where the camel rides started), there were no rolling sand dunes as you see in the photos ( those are only in the Sahara desert apparently). The sunset, however, was nice and the guides at the camp were lovely, they taught us hand-drumming and served us delicious food. Our campsite was fine, there was running water, but, the lights in our tent and several others did not work and they did not do anything to fix them so we were forced to be in the dark. The next day we got up, breakfast was leftover bread from the night before and boiled eggs, then we rode the camels back to the car. Then we drove again 6-8 hours back to Marrakesh, the place we stopped for lunch was okay but again, expensive and nowhere near as good as the other food we had had in Marrakesh. So all and all - we were on this tour for 2 days so about 48 hours, over half of which were spent either in a car (either feeling sick or sleeping) or in a tent sleeping. Not worth the time, if you only have a short time to see Morrocco you are better off booking a different tour where you will actually get to see more of the desert and sights, get a proper guide who will be with you the whole time and not be brought to various tourist traps. The trip was fine and it was okay for us but if we were to return to Morocco we will definitely not book this again.

Response from Host, Nov 2019

Dear Guest , Thank you for posting a review and we’re sorry to hear that your experience was not of the quality you expected. festival the long way is described in the trip details (please try to read the descriptif currently ) the way from Marrakech to Zagora takes 6 to 7 hours plus 3 hours of stops ( stop toilet , stop coffee ,then stop lunch ) . regarding the option that you have choose is " SHARED " it means " WITH A GROUP " in this option the luggage is not provided cause we have usually 17 to 18 persons in the bus from different countries ( Spain , Italy , France England , china , ..) its not possible to can make 3 or 4 guides in the same bus that's why we provide driver only. . if you don't like to go with other people there is a second option" PRIVATELY" is with a private car and a private guide . as you see for the shared trip there are 3 kinds of accommodations Basic , Middle and a luxury .. that's why when you arrive to desert its normal to separate each group depending their bookings . to your knowledge the whole group was OK nobody was sick and nobody complained . We always aim to deliver a great experience. we will use the feedback to make us more better . Thank you

Zagora desert trip

zanderm00re, Nov 2019
Amazing two day one night trip from Marrakech to Zagora! Stopped off at some historical cities along the way which were beautiful! The camel ride at sunset was the best part! In the morning you climb the mountain to watch the sunset so make sure you take your cameras! Long days travelling but definitely worth it!

Response from Host, Nov 2019

Nice trip but car drive too long

Voyager234013, Aug 2019
It was quite adventurous and beautiful. Especially sleeping under the moonlit sky was impressive! However the transport from Marrakech too 10h to get there and another 10h to get back. Time in the desert was unfortunately very limited. I'd rather recommend booking a 2- or 3-day trip since the place itself is absolutely stunning!

Response from Host, Aug 2019

esperienza consigliata

Gabriele_V, Oct 2024

Repetiria e recomendarei a amigos!

Response from Host, Sep 2019

sehr schlimme Erfahrung .......very bad experience !!!

ADHIKARI_S, Aug 2019
-------------- There were three of us (with a child, 5 years old). They told us during the booking that the trip takes only 6-7 hours. In reality, the journey took more than 13 hours (as it was unnecessarily stopped on the way to sell or withdraw money). That was like a sales tour !!!! That was very bad with a child. When we arrived around 22:30, dinner was not ready. The food was included in the offer. After several requests that we absolutely want to give something for the child to eat, this was unfortunately not considered. Around midnight 00:20, we got the food: bread and curry. On the second day you should start again at 05:00 to see the sunrise !!! This is unfortunately very bad organized. If we arrive by bus and start with the camels, the boys at the campsite could have prepared the food.

Dear ADHIKARI SATYA, your comment is really shameful, all the time you were late by 30 minutes when one of our colleagues came to pick you up in your hotel, and property without any excuse, then if you read the description of this trip is not true for 6-7 hours; Normally the departure time is already indicated at 07:30 am and the arrival time between 05:30 and 6:00 pm, so that is about 10 hours depending on the state of the road, At your arrival at desert it was around 18:30 and the chef of camp told us that you do not want to ride a camel and you asked to go to the camp by 4x4 vehicle while explaining that you are pregnant, and despite this we has fulfilled your request without any extra pennies, although you should pay more, besides if you are really pregnant it is also indicated in the description of the product that it is disadvised for you this kind of trip,

Experiencia inolvidable

Alberto_Z, Jul 2019
