Disappointing Transfer with Safety and Time Concerns

The driver was generally good, but the transfer experience was disappointing. The description stated the trip would take about 3.5 hours, but it took almost 6 hours. Before departure, Google Maps showed the west route would take just 3 hours and 11 minutes, and both the east and west routes were available. However, the driver took the east route, despite our hotels being on the west. He explained (via a translation app) that the insurance doesn’t cover the west route, while the agency claimed the west road was closed. Our hotel in Aswan denied this. We suspect the travel agency chose the east route to avoid toll fees, disregarding the extra time and effort, as this decision did not benefit the driver at all. No matter the reason behind this decision, they should have informed us of the longer duration beforehand and been honest. The driver had already worked over 12 hours that day and was visibly very tired, raising safety concerns. Additionally, unlike the transfer description, no bottled water was provided, leaving us thirsty, hungry, and exhausted upon arrival. We were deeply dissatisfied with how this transfer was handled.
