Wonderful Tour

We toured two days in Luxor with our guide, Mr. Ragab Ramadan. The tour was well planned with prompt pickup and return. Mr. Ramadan was very knowledgeable, providing historical information and answering questions. He was also very accommodating and responsive to our wishes and needs. He was quite sociable with a great sense of humor and seemed to enjoy his work. We have been to Luxor on previous occasions, and this was the best tour we have taken.

We had a great time with Hassan (great conversation and historical guide) and Ahmed the driver (bravo for driving so well) as well as Ragab organizing at the background. Our flights were changed, the team picked us up at the airport, stopped over at our hotel so we could drop bags and have a bite before we started the tour. To experience the history and monuments with a great guide will always be memorable.

We had amazing two days in Luxor with our excellent guide Ameen! West bank is amazing, we were especially looking for to see Tutankhamon's tomb. We also got to see some extra sites, like the lost golden city and Ramses III temple. East bank was very interesting as well with all the temples and Luxor museum.

An amazing two days in the Valley of the Kings and Luxor with a great guide. He was very enthusiastic and shared his wide knowledge of Egyptian history. He was on time both days to meet us and also recommended the best tombs to visit and showed us his favourite parts of Luxor Temple. King Tut's tomb and Karnak both blew our minds.

Everything was going great. Guide was offering options about things to do the next day… he told me he was going to bribe the guards… his friends.. at the entrances… so we didn’t need to show student cards. No prob. The kids are legit students … day 1 great… day 2 he and the driver pull off the highway and tell us we need to pay $400usd extra for the driver and guide and entrance fees. No prob on fees - that was part of the Viator add…That the stops they suggested were not included and so I needed to pay for the time for the car and guide. Initially I said okay… so we stopped at the mummification museum the ticket was $100 Egyptian- the guide was not allowed in and asked for $20 per person… the other stops he wanted similar $$$$ for… I felt afraid… was he going to rob us. Why now is he wanting $$$. I intend to upload the full Viator add so you can read for yourself what was included in the tour … you can judge. My kids felt afraid… and there isn’t a refund in the world to take that back. Book elsewhere

In the history of Luxor Travels we have never heard a guest complaining about not feeling safe with us. And it is astonishing to us to hear that your two teenage sons have been scared by our guide. Secondly, we wish to add some details of the event for other readers to consider. You were not going 100km an hour on the highway – you were on a road in the city center. Your driver did not pull over the car – he made a u-turn to bring you to the museum (free of charge) per your request. Your guide asked for an extra $400 for the additional services you requested. You booked a 2-day tour with us, we have taken you to all the sights that were included in your tour itinerary. However, you insisted that we take you to other sights as well, free of charge, and to have the car, driver and guide with you for the rest of the day FREE OF CHARGE. Does that seem fair? Please have another look at your Viator voucher and the tour description where it is clearly mentioned what is included and what isn’t. We look forward to seeing the Viator add uploaded as you mention. We can assure you and anyone else that your guide was not trying to rob you. Your guide is a legitimate and certified tour guide and we have received positive reviews about him to testify to that. We have tried to appease you by taking you to the museum free of charge and by giving you a refund for the airport transfer, and it seems this went unappreciated. It is impossible to argue with your feelings and to deny them, so we will not try. We are indeed saddened to hear you left with a negative impression. My tour and tour guide, Ragab, were the absolute BEST!!! Ragab is very knowledgeable on the rich Egyptian history and is great at explaining in a way that is easily understandable. His English was great. All aspects of my tour went as promised. Ragab was able to arrange a last minute hot air ballon ride for me too! Someone caught wind that Ragab was my tour and told me that he was the best guide in Egypt. I am very happy with how the tour went and Ragab! I highly recommend, well worth the money!
