Luis was absolutely incredible. He communicated with us before the tour to confirm and we agreed to start our tour earlier. He took us to all the must-see places at a casual pace and was extremely knowledgeable about Lucerne and its history. We felt like we were spending a couple of hours with a good friend. Highly recommend him for this tour and any other that he might lead.

Great guide. Isabella was very knowledgeable and had great recommendations for the rest of my trip as well which was a bonus. The tour is active and there are steps and hills so wear comfortable shoes and clothing.

We had a nice walk with our guide, Luis, who was very well versed in the history of the city, along with where the best restaurants were. We can’t wait to visit again and compare the chocolates of Luzern to Geneva.

Isabella was knowledgeable, friendly and happy to answer anything we asked. The tour was 2 hours and ran the whole time. We didn’t do the optional chocolate part but wished we did.
I will say this is not for anyone who can’t go up and down stairs and hills.

It's so worth it! The tour took place as i was the only customer (low season end of November). So it turned into an exclusive tour of lovely Luzern!
We started von Torbogen Luzern then taken our way down onto the Reuss. Numerous details, historical, scientifical & cultural facts (all spiced up with old photographs) to the pathway covered: the churched, the Wooden Bridge with it's significance and troubled history. We continued our walk through the city with a lot of infos on local restaurants & places of interest, shopping. We landen on panorama points on the defence wall and explore it in promising weather of sun and coming snow. Enriched by stories of medieval history & behaviour and listening to the breath of the dragon whispers coming from Pilatus .
It was an exciting journey, brilliantly guided tour into past, present, culture & civilisation of Luzern. I would recommend to my best friend. It made my visit here very special.

Isabella was a fine tour guide to see the city on foot including even the city walls. Only issue I have is that the tour was 2 hours late as I, a solo traveler, had to be grouped with next tour (of only two people mind you) with only a 20 minutes notice…as such, would *highly* not recommend to any single travelers looking for a tour of the city as you will be at the mercy of the guide company on when they will honor your purchase.

The tour started 30 minutes late. We did appreciate the fact that we were contacted! They stated that our guide would have a black jacket and a blue back-pack! Lol. Many people match that criteria! It would have helped, it they said a light blue back pack! We feel the tour guides of viator should have a flag to identify the tour. This would help immensely! Anyway, Isabella was great! She was easy to understand, and she accomplished our expectations! Thanks Isabella

This is the perfect first thing to do in Lucerne. Louis was a fabulous host showing us around his adopted home town. He has a vast knowledge of the town and offered great tips on other things to see and restaurants.

This tour was really interesting. We just did the guided walking tour with no add-ons. It ended up being a private tour for the two of us as nobody else had booked it. Saw so much of the city.

If I could give it a zero, I would. Canceled 1 hour before after I explained I had already walked to meeting area. they said they canceled due to rain. It did not rain!! said they would give a refund— still trying to make that happen!! Be VERY careful with this TO in Lucerne… lots of folks had issues over the last few days.

Dear Katie. You were informed about the cancellation right after we have received your last minute booking! The reason was a thunder storm and it was dangerous to walk around the city, we even sent you the screen shot of the warning announcement from the Swiss forecast. We canceled the tour and Viator will send you the refund, they always do. Safety is the priority in all our tours.

Well worth it if you’re in Lucerne for a day and have a little time to capture its history. Luis our guide was fantastic and knowledgeable! He was happy to answer all types of questions and give us a good sense of Swiss culture.
