Four us ( 2 couples) did what we normally do which was to book a private tour through Viator
We were met at the cruise terminal by our guide Rosa and taken in a modern 6 seater to the canal boat ride.
Rosa and Pablo ( guide for another party)
spotted monkeys and sloths and iguanas in the trees and gave us lots of information.
We then visited The Plantation and saw and learned about pineapple and cocoa and banana plants as well as many others.
Our final part of the trip was to have a tour of Limon and visit a hotel on the beach where we could buy lunch.
We asked Rosa if she could find us a nice local bar instead, which she did with panoramic views over Limon and the beach.
We had a lovely chat with Rosa over cold local beers .
Rosa is studying tourism and was bright and knowledgeable and very personable.
We highly recommend the tour and Rosa

We had a great day in Limon Costa Rica with jeremy and Leslie. We learned a lot about the country and city. We were able to see many places, a banana plantation, beach, canal tour. We were able to see sloths, birds, cayman, and a lot of local vegetation. We even stopped by a fruit stand to try local fruits- delicious.

Yendry and Leslie were great guides. We had a wonderful overall experience and I especially love their flexibility to accommodate a short stop to enjoy some local food! I highly recommend this tour.

We met our guide (Christian) right at the cruise port. Our group of 6 had a private tour for the day and were transported in really nice "like new" air conditioned vehicles. Our first stop was the Tortuguero Canal for some nature sightseeing where we saw several sloths, several small crocodiles, a caiman, a basilisk lizard, and a family of monkeys, along with a few hawks and many other birds. We toured a banana plantation where Christian explained the banana harvesting process and introduced us to many other plants and flowers that are found in Costa Rica. We took a scenic overview tour of the port city of Limón. We had lunch (not included in price) at a local restaurant located right on the beach where to paraphrase the song "we got our toes in the water, azz in the sand, not a worry in the world with cold beers in our hands". All said and done, this was a great tour and a nice introduction to Costa Rica, which is a place where we would definitely love to return to in the not too distant future! As they say in Costa Rica - "pura vida!"

The tour guide was great and tried so hard to see animals that we could view. Unfortunately, there was not much to see .....but we had a nice afternoon. Everything was very organized....A pleasant outing.

Outstanding tour. Vanessa met our party of six at Port Limon. Vanessa also had a driver so she was able to give us her undivided attention. We departed immediately for Tortuguero Canals. Upon arrival we boarded a boat. It was so much fun. We saw monkeys, sloths, and all kinds of birds. The boat driver was extremely knowledgeable about the animals. Next we stopped at a banana plantation and Vanessa explained to us how bananas grew and the exportation process from Costa Rica to other countries. We then went to a fruit stand and tasted the best fruit I ever had. I'll go back to Costa Rica just for the fruit. A little girl approached us and wanted to give us a butterfly tour. So we went. Amazing. The butterflies were beautiful and some of them actually landed on us. We then went to a gift shop and sampled rum and coffee and purchased souvenirs. Our last stop was at a restaurant with a gorgeous view of the beach. It was a fantastic day!

El tour con Leslie y Jen fue lo máximo!! Limón es un lugar muy verde, con mucha naturaleza, vimos mucha vegetación y animales, desde el primer momento había perezosos, monos, incluso vimos un pequeño caimán!! Después les pedimos nos llevaran a un lugar de comida típica, estuvo más que delicioso, el lugar pequeño, hogareño. La verdad son unas personas lindas, con mucho conocimiento y que nos hicieron el tour divertido y el día muy hermoso!! Mil veces lo recomiendo 🤩
