This was an excellent adventure that included a history of cacao, the bean-to-bar process, a chocolate tasting session which included different bars from 100% to 70%, and pouring our own chocolate into molds, making our own customized treats. Angelina was the Master of Ceremonies and was AWESOME!!!

Thoroughly enjoyable and interesting way to spend a few hours, Stephanie really knows her stuff and seems happy to share her knowledge. Looking forward to eating my chocolates later.

The chocolate making part was fun - the rest was a little dry, the fact that there was a fake cocoa plant to demonstrate the process of making cocoa made it a little synthetic.

Host was very knowledgeable and was very patient with the kids. Great hands on experience for the kids. We made our own chocolates first, then three drinks from cacao beans.

Tremendous exposure to cocoa especially its processing. We spent lot of time making chocolate paste and learning of all the various applications of it. Tremendously fun and interesting.

Our guide, Anna, was really knowledgeable and personable. The activity is in an Inka market and we had 8 people in our group. Loved making our own chocolate bars and we got to mash cacao beans and make 2 drinks to try. It was a fun and simple activity to do but was a ton of fun!

Our family of four enjoyed every part of this class. Angelica lead our class (in English) and she was friendly and professional. If you are looking for a fun, quick activity to do in Lima, this is a good option. We were the only four in the class which made it even more fun and personable.

We did this for my husbands birthday with our group of friends and had an absolute blast. Very informational with a lot of hands on opportunities. The chocolate is delicious and we cannot recommend this enough!!

It was only three of us so it was very intimate and enjoyable. The young woman who ran the experience was absolutely amazing. So cool to try a bunch of different types of chocolate and learn the history behind it
10/10 would recommend doing this, especially for the price.

Steffany was absolutely brilliant. It was so fun and amazing to learn a new skill but also an industry that we don’t know a lot about. The chocolate is absolutely delicious and I loved learning about how it’s made. The venue is within the Inka market so try and look for that big red sign and it’s in the middle of a square and the lessons are covered but still outside so still warm.

This is an intimate class taught in a shaded area outside of the small ChocoMuseo location. The ChocoMuseo provides all materials. Our instructor Stefani spoke both English and Spanish, and she guided us through the history of cocoa bean and chocolate-making. Because of the setting time required, you will make your chocolate bars first, then the instructor will go back to the beginning of the process of harvesting, drying, and preparing the cocoa beans for foods and drinks. This class is a great way to involve the kids (ours were 8 and 12 and were totally onboard), and an excellent way to learn about Peru and its agricultural history.

It was absolutely wonderful. Met tons of solo travelers and was a cute activity. You even got to take home chocolates. 10/10. Also you are in the Inka Plaza so you can grab souvenirs as well.

Fun activity to spend a couple free hours if you have extra ones. It's outside so take that into account when dressing for the day (there's a roof but no windows). The lady that assisted us was very knowledgeable but her speaking voice could've been a bit higher to be able to hear her better, specially when in a loud environment (takes place at market). Loved tasting the different cacao drinks.

You will learn everything from the cacao tree to the chocolate! Very informative and dynamic! Our guide was very kind.

Awesome experience learning about the full process to make chocolate and the world's source of cocao. Plus making our own chocolate and different chocolate drinks and teas

We were two families with a mix of ages for kids, and everyone loved this experience! It was very thoughtful in teaching us all about the cacao bean and we even got to taste the pulp. The Hot Chocolate was delicious and the kids had so much fun making the bars. I would highly recommend this to anyone visiting Lima!!

We made many small pieces with different flavors. More fun to share with friends.
Our host was wonderful.

Awesome experience. Really friendly and fun instructor/host Nat. Walked away with knowledge and chocolate so can't be happier.

Our group of 3 booked this class on a quiet Wednesday afternoon, and we ended up being the only people in the class. Our instructor, Diana, was so knowledgeable and made our experience amazing. This class was way more fun than any of us were expecting, maybe due to the fact that it was a bit more of a private experience, but we would definitely recommend trying it out to make your own chocolate bars, and learning about the chocolate making process!

It was a great hands on experience. It was a pleasant suprise that the workshop was split between an informative area and the workshop space itself. Very fun activity

What an awesome experience. First you put chocolate in molds and then you learn how it’s done beans to bars.

Learned a lot about Chocolate - how it was made and the various kinds of Chocolate. It was fun to make my own chocolate bar

Insightful bean to bar chocolate knowledge. Also it is really cool to share this experience with travelers from other countries
katie_d, Jul 2025
The workshop was great about 2.5 hours long where you learn about the caco bean and get to roast and grind it. Then you make traditional coco drinks, finished by a big batch of either dark or milk chocolate that you get to take away with you. The chocolate tastes amazing and you get a big portion to take with away. The teacher was very knowledgeable and the group we had were very fun.
Denise_B, Jul 2025
Interesting and fun! Diana shared interesting facts and it was fun to create our own chocolate bars!
LaToya_L, Jul 2025
It was a neat experience. From tasting the fruit of the plant which had a slimy texture but tasted like banana. To roasting the beans, to cracking the shell off and making tea from the shells. Then grinding the beans to make powder. Which we made hot chocolate and a spicy chocolate. My favorite was making our very own personalized chocolates. The only thing that's misleading is museum, there's not a chocolate museum but a space in the middle of a shopping plaza.

I took this class on my first time traveling to Lima. And it was the perfect introduction into learning more about cacao and also having something to do as a solo female traveler here. Manuel was amazing and funny and passionate about his classes and products and just overall very inspiring and telling the history of cacao here in his country. When I got back to the states, I brought the chocolate bars with me and my friends really loved the taste of it. It was such a fun class and I really appreciate Manuel!
Margaret_M, Jul 2025
Tasty! This class was very informative and delicious. I loved being able to create my own chocolate to take home.
Sonia_S, Jul 2025
I had a phenomenal experience learned a whole lot about the cacao and Danny was a phenomenal guide and I love my candies that I made myself

When looking for it- inside a market space- set up under a tent. The staff are super friendly and kind. It was great learning about cacao and the Mayan history of chocolate making.
