We had a beautiful day and mild spring temperatures so we pivoted to a hike instead of a snow shoe excursion. I was impressed as the team managing the tour called the day before and prepared us for the change. It truly exceeded our expectations! My daughter and I spent 2 hours with Jeff, our guide, who I rate a 10 out of 10!! He took us to the most beautiful views and shared his vast knowledge of Lake Tahoe and the entire area. He is a rock climber and his love for the outdoors was really inspiring and contagious! He did a lot of storytelling about the lake and the history which was fascinating! He was also a great photographer and we walked away with the coolest pics and a trip we will fondly remember!! I highly recommend the tour and requesting Jeff as your guide! A most memorable and fun day!

Tahoe Outdoor Adventures provided an exceptional snowshoe tour for my family in Jan of 2026. Their service and dedication to providing an experience tailored to our needs went beyond what was advertised and expected. We booked a group and were called a day prior to get an understanding of our abilities and expectations. We told them of both my wife’s love for photography and our child’s elementary age. They split our group, one with 20’s and 30’s aged men in a group and another for my family at no extra charge. We each got a unique experience. Our guide (I cannot remember anyone’s names but their dogs Roxy and Moxie were both a joy to have along) told us about the history of Tahoe while taking us on a moderate but very doable trail giving us absolutely insane views of the lake and surrounding areas. The route had unique geology making for limited trees allowing for vista views in a rather short walk. We were comfortably and safely led to areas where we could slide through the snow, experience amazing views, and enjoy our time together as a family. Cannot recommend more, great value, exceptional service and support, fun adventures from cool local people.

You can wear tennis shoes but I would recommend boots to keep your feet warm and dry. Going at 2 was a good call was a lot warmer and beautiful.

Ryan was awesome ! He went at our pace and gave us a ton of history. The views are unbelievable and we were able to slide down at some points! A must do experience! He was also very patient with my very energetic 13 year old ! Our entire family really enjoyed it !!

Our guide, Michelle, was fantastic. She picked a beautiful off the beaten path location for us, set everything else up introduced us to the equipment and off we went! We enjoyed two hours of amazing snowshoeing, hiking, views and vistas, and Michelle took amazing pictures for us along the way. Would do this again in a heartbeat! I highly recommend it.

Ryan, Chris and Roxy were fabulous. Their knowledge of the terrain, geological insights combined with their warm, fun and hospitable personalities made the adventure a blast! We highly recommend this experience! We had a variety of ages on the trip and they gave opportunities for the older peoples to rest, and for the young go for more adventurous experiences.

I have been to so many tours, and Michelle has been the best from my experience. She clearly loves her job and is passionate in sharing her love for nature with those on her tour. She made sure we made many memories and was willing to help us take pictures. We absolutely adore Michelle and would love to come back again!

Enjoyed learning about the lake, history of the Pope and Baldwin families. Enjoyed snowshoeing as something to do since lifts were closed at heavenly.

The snowshoe tour was nice, however communication should have been better as far as the meet up location. Also, the container where the tour guide had the hot chocolate seem filthy.

My husband and I had an awesome time on this one-of-a-kind hike! Shoutout to Michelle for taking such great photos of us. We had never snowshoed before, but no experience was required to enjoy this unique tour. Highly recommend if you want to catch some breathtaking views of the Sierra Nevada range.
