Itinerary

Start your day early, with pickup from your Istanbul accommodation. From here, head straight to Istanbul Airport and board the flight destined for Izmir.

On arrival at Izmir, you’ll greet your guide in the arrivals lounge and board an air-conditioned vehicle to your first stop: Isabey Mosque, a delicate example of Selijukian architecture that dates back to the 14th century. Then, you’ll continue to the jewel in Turkey’s ancient architectural crown — Ephesus.

In the 1st century BC, Ephesus was only second to Rome in power and significance. Grand structures such as the Library of Celsus, the Theater, and the Basilica of St. John herald the former prosperity of Ephesus, which you'll discover in detail during a guided tour. See, too, the Cave of Seven Sleepers and the Church of Mary, where the Virgin Mary is said to have spend many years of her life.

Following a buffet lunch in a traditional Turkish restaurant, you’ll observe a carpet making demonstration and then visit the Temple of Artemis, one of the Seven Ancient Wonders of the World. All that remains of the temple in its original location is a grand column, since archeologists transported most of the landmark to the British Museum.

After flying back to Istanbul and being dropped off at your hotel, your tour concludes.
