Enjoy a local lunch at a Peranakan restaurant (included if lunch option selected). Afterwards, visit Red Square (Dutch Square), and the Stadthuys, possibly the oldest Dutch building in Southeast Asia. The last stop in Melaka will be at Jonker Street where you can browse for a variety of goods.

This trip was absolutely fun! It also took out the hassle of having to make my way all the way there and all the way back, and the tour guide was very informative. I truly learnt a lot while I was there. I would personally highly recommend doing this tour.

It's a very scenic place, we went out of season so it was quite quiet but our guide had lots of things planned including visits to a mosque and Buddhist temple, a historic Portuguese church and recommendations on where to eat and drink. We also had time for a small boat tour (for a small fee) which was an added optional extra. Rajan was our guide, he was very informative and helpful, especially as the heat was so demanding.

We were very disappointed with the service today. No tour guide, no support. For the price that was charged this is a totally unacceptable service. Complete ripoff. All we received was the transport to Malacca.

I've had quite positive experiences with Viator tours in the past, but this was my worst experience for the following reasons:
1. Our guide's unsafe driving on the return trip to Kuala Lumpur included swerving across highway lanes, speeding well above posted limits, and constantly using multiple phones while driving--all of which made me fear for our safety.
2. Our guide seemed un-interested and kept going ahead at his own pace, even as we stopped to take pictures and read info plaques.
3. He kept taking regular smoke breaks (even while walking with us on the tour) and left us in the car with the engine on for a smoke break on the way back at a highway rest stop.
4. When we asked for lunch recommendations in Melaka, he seemed surprised as to why we needed a lunch break after 3 hours in the hot sun.
I cannot recommend this tour to others. To top it all off, it was certainly extremely overpriced, and we didn't end up getting a good understanding of Melaka, which has immense historical significance.

I had initial concerns because the company/driver blatantly ignored my attempts to discuss the tour with them beforehand. But, I gave them the benefit of the doubt and thought maybe they were just busy. My driver, Rayhan, was late and treated me just like a taxi driver; he made me sit in the back and he didn't talk to me for the entire 2 hour ride to Melaka. He then gave me a very fast and unenthusiastic history when we arrived and he showed me around. I felt like maybe it may get better as we spent more time interacting, but he was aloof and acted like he didn't want to be there. The drive back was the worst part: he drove like a maniac. He was holding down the horn, cutting people off, weaving in and out of traffic, gesturing at other drivers, and cursing under his breath. I honestly thought a few times that he was going to hit someone. It was TERRIBLE. Then when we got back to my building he argued with me that I didn't know how to use my own access card. He ruined for me what could have been a fun day in an interesting city. I reported my issues to Viator and they issued me a full refund after the company never responded to them after three attempts to discuss my concerns. I suggested to Viator that they remove this company from their site; I had a terrible experience and I would recommend that no one book with them.

A tour of Malacca to learn about its fascinating history is a must-do while in Malaysia. Unfortunately, we were assigned a guide, Zul, who was less invested in introducing us to Malacca and seemingly more concerned about taking us up on our offer that he join us for lunch. As a result, he pretty much cut our tour short. We were not taken to Jonker Street, not introduced to major historical buildings, and we were told to go into the museum on our own time despite that we had plenty of time to visit these places, among others. I regret that we didn’t take a firmer stance and insist we tour Malacca to the extent for which we paid $400. U.S. dollars. And yes, we learned that we were overcharged and ripped off, but that’s a whole other issue. Tour Malacca, but not with Zul.

The trip was quite an experience to see the miles of oil palm and rubber trees which demonstrates Malaysia dominance in the production of those products. As Malacca is a UNESCO heritage city visits to the church of St Paul the temple and the square filled with historical accounts was interesting.

Was picked up and dropped back to hotel in 8.5hrs. Had both a driver and guide. It was not too rushed, and got a glimpse of what Melaka is like. Last stop of the day was Cheng Hoon Teng Temple with it's Ming tombs up on Chinese Hill behind the temple. We were led to believe that this was an extra stop, but it is actually on the itinerary. Perhaps the guide didn't know as she also went to a lunch stop that was closed and blamed it on the pandemic. Maybe she hasn't worked this tour for a couple of years and not up to date with how it runs! I would recommend if you are time poor, otherwise try and get down there for a night or two and do the place justice.

Very disappointing. Due to our original driver having car issues, a replacement driver was found quickly but a complete communication breakdown between tour company and drivers, we ended up departing 2 hours late in a small cramped car. Christopher was our guide and he was very new, so he barely spoke and did not have much knowledge of area. We spent barely an hour sight seeing, then he dropped us at an average restaurant in an industrial area for lunch. After 2 hours waiting there with no communication from him, he finally messaged us (following messages from us) saying his car was having problems but he had now fixed it. So he came to pick us up then took us past a river cruise which was not included, so we waited another hour for one person to do the cruise, again in an area where there was nothing to see or do. Then we drove home, again in silence.
The 'tour' was very disappointing and mostly a waste of a day and not what we booked or paid for. I will be requesting a refund, which should have been given automatically.
Melaka itself is very nice and would recommend going, but not with this particular driver/guide.

Pick up was 30 min late. Maybe we misunderstood the trip, however, this was purely transport only to Melaka and not a guided tour of the city. We got dropped off with a half hearted explanation of where to get the lunch and had to be back 4 hours later. We had to seek information and what to do all by ourselves.

Really worth booking this trip as you learn a lot about Malacca through the guide.
Thank you Maran - who was basically a history teacher through this tour. Their team have been professional through entire tour.
If youre young women or elderly, please book this trip as the coach and being amongst a group felt safe and youre given 1 hour of your own time at the end of trip to explore everything in Malacca and that was a great moment for us.
Unfortunately we had a horrible experience with a private tour but Thank you Maran and his team for more than making up for it with this tour - we appreciate you guys 🙏

Raja was an excellent guide, giving us lots of information about the history of Malacca on our drive. We saw all the places we wanted to see and more as Raja wanted us to see as much as we could. We had a Baba Nyonya meal that was lovely. Thoroughly enjoyed the day and would highly recommend Raja as your guide.

Overall I don’t believe the tour was worth the money. Our guide, Steve, was knowledgeable and friendly and did tell us about the area, which was nice. However, he smoked and the car was not very comfortable and smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. We could have gone for far less in a more comfortable car using grab and just use a walking tour online that would have given us the same or similar information.

We were there at Chinese New year so all the festive decorations were outstanding.
We just enjoyed visiting the many different parts of Malacca, and finding out about it's history.

Driver was prompt and friendly but quite inexperienced and strictly a driver not a guide. Perhaps I misunderstood the description, but I expected a tour with a guide who would share the history and some details about Malacca sites, and not just drop the group off to wander around.

Overall we had a good day. Malaka is an interesting city to visit. This was not a ‘guided tour.’ We were given some information about Malaka by the driver on the ride from Kamala Lumpur, then he pointed out several places we could go, and we went around on our own in the town. Malaka is very hot, so be prepared with water, hat/umbrella, etc.
The included lunch was a miss. We arrived at the appointed time & place, but there were no available tables. After waiting about 10 minutes in the heat, we ended up leaving to have lunch at the Hard Rock Cafe to access good air conditioning, but higher price & not the local food we were looking for.

Communication prior to this trip was very good. Eugene was our driver and did a great job. He told us he was not a guide - only a driver - but went out of his was to make sure we saw the sites. So this is not really a guided tour but the narration was sufficient. The lunch was tasty and restaurant clean and authentic. Eugene arranged a tricshaw ride - the boat tour closed for afternoon prayers so we missed that. Perhaps rearranging the tour to do the boat first would have been better planned. We hit a lot of rain on the way back to Kuala Lampur and Eugene was a very cautious driver. He took many photos during the tour which he promptly sent to us. A good tour but you will need to do a bit of research on the sights on your own
