This was such a good activity in Kuala Lumpur. It was nice to get out of the city and see some nature. The highlight was seeing all of the monkeys, by the fireflies and boat ride were of course wonderful, as well. The fishing village was also really neat. Highly recommend while in Kuala Lumpur

Everything was perfect from start to finish. The whole trip was very well organized, smooth and enjoyable. The itinerary was great, timing was well managed, and the experience fully met expectations.

Pick up at my hotel was punctual and good communications beforehand. Our tour guide LG was very polite and informative.
The stopping points before the Firefly boat trip were interesting and reasonably quiet despite it being a public holiday. We enjoyed the Firefly Boat Trip despite there being less Fireflies than expected.

good experience. Simon, our driver was great and gave us bits of information through the day. He contacted the gentleman who sold monkey food to meet us around the corner so that it was less crowded when feeding the monkeys. The fireflies were interesting to see also. like a naturally lit Christmas tree.

Good value for money, with a number of stops covered. The timing could be a bit tighter. There's a bit of waiting around for others, depending on what additional activities people have booked. There could've also been more explanation from the driver - both on what's coming next, and a bit of explanation about the various stops.

Our guide LG was phenomenal. He gave us detailed explanations what we should see and the same time we had enough freetime too to explore.
The blue tears and fireflies were stunning, we met a bumch of monkeys too with the chance to feed them.

We did the Fireflies and Blue Tears together, although didn't know initially that they were separate tours to book. The trip was amazing and the tour guide was very knowledgeable and conneted with locals. It was an xperience that I'm glad I didn't mis having come from southern California (USA).

I had a great time on this tour. Selangor is only a short drive from KL (1 to 2 hours depending on traffic), and the route is lined with beautiful palm oil trees that make the trip even more scenic. I enjoyed all three stops, but the view on top of the hill was by far my favorite — absolutely breathtaking.
Our tour guide and driver, LG, was friendly, knowledgeable, and made me feel completely safe throughout the journey, which is especially important to me as a solo female traveler. He offered helpful cautions when needed, shared great suggestions, and drove very safely.
We didn’t get to see much of the blue plankton on my tour, but that’s always a bit of a gamble when it comes to nature. The fireflies, however, were magical and made the experience unforgettable.

It was a delightful magical experience to see natures gifts going about their business and extremely heart warming to hear the monkey loudly protest to the telecom engineers that they were invading on his property and he wasn’t happy

Our guide was excellent. The temple was well worth a visit. It is beautiful. Dinner on the waterfront was very good. The view was amazing as we watched the setting sun. The fireflies were wonderful. I paid extra for the blue plankton, which was underwhelming.

Guna it's very friendly and experienced your guide. The most amazing part is that he stays with us all the time, not just drop off. Feel much better and safer especially the monkey place. I'm afraid of animals. Thanks a lot Guna!

It was fun, monkeys and temple and fireflies were cool. We paid extra for the glowing plankton, and this was not worth the money and was disappointing. Our tour guy was excellent.

Very satisfying tour. You must do it when you are in Phnom Penh. The food however was not the best. Operator charges USD 6 excluding drinks.

Honestly wasn’t really impressed by the stuff. We were also brought to a temple and saw some monkeys but I wasn’t too thrilled about it. Seemed kind of randomly put together.

A very well-organised, fantastic tour.
Though the journey to Kuala Selangor is long, it was broken up very well by a bathroom break (take your own toilet tissue!), a trip to a stunning Hindu temple in a rural area, and Bukit Melawati, filled with adorable silver leaf monkeys.
Each section of the tour gave us enough time to enjoy ourselves, and our guide, LG, made sure everything ran smoothly, gave us information about the places we were visiting, and all the necessary etiquette and safety information too.
The temple was well-worth a visit, an incredible feat of artistry, and we even got to see a prayer session. The monkeys were fantastic, really sweet and gentle and they looked clean (got no flea bites so I'd say that's a win!!) Just make sure to stand a bit away if you don't want them to climb on you, as my boyfriend was up close filming me with a monkey and he got an unexpected friend on his shoulder!
The Malacca Strait is also visible from Bukit Melawati and is a stunning view of one of the most important shipping lanes in the world.
Finally, though we didn't go to a restaurant in the fishing village, there are plenty to choose from. It's primarily inhabited by Chinese people and thus Chinese cuisine, and there is one Thai restaurant too. They have seafood and chicken in the village.
The fireflies are included in the price but it's RM 50 per person extra for the blue tears. We didn't go for the blue tears but the fireflies were stunning.
I recommend going on a still, calm night or the boat ride might get a bit exciting. You travel up the river 3km in a motorboat (life jackets are given) and then drift right next to the mangrove bushes to see hundreds of blinking lights amongst them.
We went on a moonless night which is why we saw so many, also be aware that they have mating seasons so go at a time of year when this will be happening. Otherwise you may not get to see that much.
The boat driver catches some in a net and lets them fly around in the boat, and even puts them on people's hands. He more... Wiped one on my hand, and it died as a result. I wish he didn't take them from the bushes like this and just left them alone, there's no need for us to interfere with their lives.
This was kind of a one-off bit of luck, but we also got to see a fantastic Chinese parade go through the village celebrating their temple turning 100 years old, thank you LG for letting us stay a bit longer to see it!
Lastly, it's worth being aware that whilst the minivan has seatbelts, they were jammed and not usable. Hopefully these will be unjammed promptly for the safety of future tourists.

This was a great time! We got to see monkeys up close and the fireflies were very visible. Although the dinner is not included in the price, we still stopped at the seafood village near the water and had about an hour to buy dinner at our own expense (definitely recommend the Chinese seafood place!). I Wouldn’t recommend the blue plankton as they weren’t visible at all and definitely wouldn’t recommend if you have back problems as the boat ride can be very bumpy. But overall great tour! 10/10

The tour was well organized and comfortable. LG, the guide/driver was fantastic and highly recommend him. The tour itself is okay. The firefly was not as exciting as we thought. But the monkey park as fun. Good interaction with the monkeys. We did an addin ‘Blue Tears’ package at the last minute and that was worth the price. Overall recommend the tour.

Interesting, well organized.
However, some costs are not included: 1. The blu tears and 2. The eagles feeding, both experiences are very nice and worth doing.
The guide wasn’t very helpful, did not explain anything and did not provide instructions on how to see the blue tears, that were a bit under the expectation…
And definitely very different from the pictures shown.

We had the best experience on this trip with our lovely guide LG.On a practical level things ran very smoothly as LG communicated with us clearly beforehand and picked us up at the time and place mentioned.
He took us to a beautiful temple, a lighthouse with lots of monkeys and a great view of the Melakka Strait, to a fishing village then onto the Firefly tour. Throughout he provided useful and interesting information and happily answered any questions.He was full of knowledge. He also made sure to get us a smaller boat on the Firefly trip so we could see it better, it was lovely looked like twinkling Christmas trees.
He then dropped us off at our hotel an hour later than planned without complaints. I would recommend LG to anyone wishing to do this trip He was a safe driver and very friendly.Enjoy your trip! Thanks LG from Henk and Julie Sept 24. You turned a good trip into a great one!

I really enjoyed this! The fireflies were really cool, and I enjoyed riding in the boat along the river during sunset/night- very relaxing! I also did the blue tears, which wasn’t really worth paying extra for. We just saw a couple of specks in the water (nothing like the pictures online).

We loved the experience of the Fireflies Tour. A gentle start with a visit to a magnificent Hindu Temple, followed by a scenic outlook over the Mangrove trees and the local monkeys providing some entertainment.
The actual boat tour was fantastic. Speeding along the river with a cooling welcome breeze into the darkness was very exciting. The fireflies seemed sparse at first but soon put on an enchanting light show for us to be amazed by. Nature at her best that was a treat to our eyes seeing the glowing lights from these small creatures. We then moved on to try to see the plankton, sadly not as visually easy to enjoy as the fireflies. The speeding boats was amazing though!

Nice tour, everything as expected
The van is air conditioned, water provided
All the details about pickup were send by Whatsapp, the driver was on time
First took us to the Indian temple, told some interesting stories about it
Then - the hill with monkeys where it's possible to see and feed lots of monkeys. (I loved it!)
Then some time in the village before the start of the trip.
I have booked fireflies tour only, but all the rest in the tour were taking glowing plankton as well, I was offered a choice to wait for the group when they will go for plankton and join for fireflies part, or pay 50 ringitts extra and go to see both, I have chosen to pay extra and stay with the group. There was no pressure about buying the plankton tour, just an offer.
About the fireflies and plankton themselves - I did like it, it's an amazing experience, but please don't look at the pictures in the internet - neither fireflies no plankton are glowing this bright :) It is possible to see lots of fireflies in the bushes and plankton in the water if you touch it with a stick. But it might be disappointing if you expect it to be as bright as a christmas tree. I liked plankton more because I was not expecting it at all and I literally have seen no photoes in advance. Fireflies were a bit disappointing: I was expecting more privacy, but the river is wide, full with boats and people, and fireflies are not as bright as on pictures.
