A beautiful evening in Kuala Selangor

Our guide was very knowledgeable. Some nights, Blue Tears is harder to see, so we did not purchase a ticket. I asked him, once we arrived, and he told us it was a good night to see them. We added on the ticket and really enjoyed seeing it.

Just take a hired car!

We had a group of four for a private tour for this trip - we were about 30 minutes late to pickup but we could not find our driver even after notifying for about 15 minutes. Eventually we found him helping another couple who apparently booked a tour with the same company and they didn’t have a driver! Unfortunately - we wouldn’t all fit in the small car we were supplied. We didn’t have much communication but we didn’t stop anywhere else on the trip and went right to the fireflies. We paid the extra $10 each to see the bioillumienscent algae and it was a really nice experience on the boat and family style dinner. Overall the experience that wasn’t associated with the tour company was nice - but could have just had a cab take us to the firefly location for the same experience! It would have likely been a more comfortable car…
