Wonderfully tailored for 2 older couples!

Woodinville_W, Mar 2026
We are two couples in our 70s. We move kind of slow and our hearing is not the best. We visited on a HAL cruise ship and we knew the large bus tours would be difficult for us, and the private HAL tours were amazingly expensive. Then we found the tours on Viator, which were reasonable. We hoped this would work, and it did! Our guide Aki tailored the tour perfectly for the 4 of us. She navigated us through the numerous subway and train stations - buying us the right tickets and showing us how to use them - and knowing how to walk from the train to the subway and back to the train. And walking slow enough, and using elevators and escalators. We could have never done it alone. We did the Carpentry Museum, the gondola ride to the herb garden and touring some of the garden, a lunch (she found something for the picky eaters in the group), a Shinto Temple, and a Sake tasting. We did everything we possibly could have done in 7 hours in Kobe. And there is no way we could have done half of it without Aki's expert guidance. We learned a bit about Kobe and Japan and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. I would highly recommend this experience. Being able to take a break when needed, and having the guide repeat what they said when needed, was just what we needed.

A most wonderful day

Paul_L, Aug 2025
We had a most wonderful day. Our Guide Aki was great. She got us off to great start at the woodwork museum, which was an amazing place. So much history and such a well laid out display, in an amazing building. Next was the ropeway/cable car to the Herb Garden atop the mountain with great views over Kobe. The Herb gardens were very well displayed. Then onto Kobe for the shrine and a lunch break. A short train ride took us to the Nada sake region here we had a great Sake lesson and tasing of the sakes. A great day which was well-paced. Ari also took heaps of photos of us and sent them to us later. Ari was a great host. We would highly recommend this tour.

If in Osaka, enjoy company of good guide.

Kirit_P, Sep 2024
Our guide, Koko was very pleasant, informative and dedicated to our comfort throughout the day. Pickup was slightly problematic, as we were out of the ship early and waited on the 3rd floor, where we were told that guides meet customers. Koko followed her instructions from the tour operator exactly, but we missed the floor location: a minor issue. Koko also introduced us to train transit. Overall, we enjoyed the tour, our conversations with Koko and the sights of Osaka.

Response from Host, Sep 2024

Dear Kirit, Thank you for your review and kind words for Koko! It is our pleasure to know that you enjoyed our Kobe tour despite of the pick up problem. We hope to welcome you back again in the future! Best regards, Kyoko

Kobe port tour

GregoryS, Sep 2024
The Sake tour was great. Saw how Sake was made and then got to taste different brands. Unfortunately the Herb Garden tour and the Tool museum was closed. We also visited the local shrine.

Response from Host, Sep 2024

Dear Gregory, Thank you for your review. Sorry to hear that some places were closed, but glad that you enjoyed learning and tasting Sake and enjoyed it very much! We hope to help you again in another tour in the future. Best regards, Kyoko

Nice area, good for a walk around look around.

LUCAS_J, Apr 2024
Lovely day out. The herb garden was beautiful and the carpentry museum was very interesting, how they built their temples and houses. Recommend. Kobe is a nice area to check out.

Lots to See in Kobe

marnelgb, Mar 2024
We learned a lot about Kobe on this tour, which was our goal. The Herb Garden, located on such a steep hillside that we rode a rope line to the top and walked down, offered a beautiful, natural setting around each curve in the path. Touring the merchants’ homes in Ijinkan gave us a grasp of the importance of Kobe as an International port in the 1800’s. It was also fascinating to see the involved sake making process! Our tour had a few hiccups… different opening hours or not open at all (tool museum was closed), but our guide Etsuko was prepared to offer interesting alternatives for us to see.

Response from Host, Apr 2024

Dear Valued customer, Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We apologize for any hiccups encountered during the tour, but we're pleased that our guide, Etsuko, was able to provide interesting alternatives. We appreciate your understanding and hope to welcome you back for more enriching experiences in the future. Best regards, Mariko
