We had a super fun time on this tour. Our guides, Juan and Jordan were so welcoming, accommodating, and ensured we had a safe and enjoyable time. They even stopped us at the Jaco sign as I really wanted a photo with my family. They provided info about the towns we passed and the scenery (different plants, birds, etc.). They were also really funny which is always welcomed. Highly recommend this tour. It's super easy for all ages.

We had a blast! The ride up and back was half the fun! When they say no bad backs, they mean it! The lunch was in fact delicious. I’m really glad we added this experience to our vacation, it was truly a highlight.

Our guide was awesome showing us wildlife and different plants. Great views and lunch. You don't need to take much with you.

Well, somehow our reservation was mixed up I booked it for a lunch/booze/waterfall adventure but didn’t get the booze. Thank goodness we brought our own cooler with our own alcohol. The ride was 25 minute long to the waterfall and way too short of a stay once we arrived. Waterfall was lovely but not enough time only 45 minute then we had to head to the lunch spot which was absolutely delicious with the authentic Costa Rica flavor and an amazing view of the mountains. This trip needs to be longer for more time at the waterfall and don’t feel rushed. Overall it was a fun outing indeed.

Our tour guide was great. Very friendly and kept us safe. He stopped to show us macaws, toucans, a leaf that turns red when you squish it, we saved a turtle off the road and we stopped at a bar by the river.
Why there is only 3 stars, it was not what I was expecting. We were on the road the entire time. About 45 min to the bar. Then another 30-45min to the waterfall. The waterfall was beautiful and we were able to take a swim which was nice. Then it was about 30min to the restaurant where we had lunch. Lunch was great and the staff was wonderful. Locals were a little rowdy but the guides were professional.
After lunch it was about another hour on the road back to the adventure park office.
All in all, it was nice. Just not what was expected. I wasn’t expecting to be on the road the whole time.

Hello. We are happy to see you enjoyed the majority of our tour, but very sorry to see the D- rating of it. We are in rainy season right now, so routes can change,. In this part of the year, we need to stay on the back country dirt roads for your safety.

I booked this excursion and it was changed to the ‘boozy cruise’. Which was fine but it wasn’t boozy. I was expecting a little bit of history but that fell short. The day was mostly riding around in an 4x4.

It was great experience going through Rain forest, just be ready for the real bumpy ride. Lot of greenery, small villages within forest with Papaya farms.

Friendly. Really enjoyed the waterfall, the “rope jump” was fun. The view at lunch was wonderful as was the food. I could have done with 15/20 minutes at the “Jaco Sign”, deducted from the Fall time. A little more openness on the “commute” to and fro.

We had an absolute fantastic time with Mike and JP! They were very informative about sights, culture, and any questions they had. They made our trip so much fun by pitting the 2 vehicles against each other by racing each other and splashing in the water and mud! This was definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Costa Rica and were sad when the tour came to an end! Thanks guys for an amazing time!

What: 4x4 Guide excursion
My sister came down to visit us and she wanted to have a little adventure! We're not a ziplining, rock climbing type of a family, so a guided off-road excursion seemed just the right amount of thrill. We were not disappointed!
Our guide, Juan took us up and down through the winding jungle trails. The journey afforded us lovely views and oftentimes it was just us and nature. At any point I supposed we could've careened off the side of the mountain, but Juan's expert driving kept us safely on the road. LOL
For anyone who has gone to La Fortuna or anyplace like that, the waterfall that we arrived at was not impressive. Technically, it is a waterfall...water is falling from a river, though not very far. However, it is a secluded spot and there is a place where you can jump into unknown depths. It is not truly a place for swimming, more like a place for paddling against the current or floating around like I did. That said, the water was very refreshing.
After the "waterfall" portion, we went to a little restaurant in town and had lunch. You get your choice of drink and a typical Costa Rican Casado where you can choose what type of meat that you want.
After lunch, Juan brought us back to the office, but he took us on a different path where the real off-roading began. We were bouncing along through plains, streams and rocky riverbeds. Loads of fun!
TIPS:
Bring closed toed shoes, preferably hiking boots/sandals, the walk down to the waterfall is tricky.
Bring sunglasses or something to protect your eyes from dirt and dust that gets kicked up.
Bring whatever you think you need: towels, bug spray...etc., the company doesn't provide those things.

We truly enjoyed our tour. Our guide Juan really made this a GREAT EXPERIENCE! He was on time picking us up. We felt safe and he was very knowledgeable of the Rainforest and the Jaco area. Nothing like a rainy day in the rain forest. We enjoyed the ride up the mountain, an amazing lunch, and the waterfall was the highlight of this excursion. My wife and I truly had a wonderful time, and we will definitely do it again on our next visit to Beautiful Costa Rica!

This excursion was so much fun. We had super guides with exceptional driving skills! They were kind and very informative and we enjoyed their knowledge of Costa Rica. The views were stunning and the highlight was swimming under the falls in the cool pool. The lunch was amazing and delicious! A great place to stop and enjoy the view while eating authentic local food. This is a four hour tour and worked well for seniors like us. We got to see more of the country. They took good care of us!
Just a TIP if you’re getting picked up in Jaco. The instructions say to meet at the Al Frente Subway restaurant on Pastor Diaz. Adventure Tours is actually across the street from Subway behind the gym. They need to change their instructions on the website to avoid confusion.

I didn’t give it a 5 Because the picture shows that all four of us could be in the same vehicle but when we arrived they put us in two separate vehicles which was ok but not what we expected

We had such a great time taking the ATV's to the waterfalls. So beautiful! Our hosts were super sweet and showed us an awesome bar on the mountain and delicious lunch afterward.
