Overview
Learn everything you ever wanted to know about chocolate-making and get to try your hand at producing some yourself, with this immersive experience. You'll start with a walk through the forest, where you'll learn about local plants and animals, including cacao. You'll then be guided through the chocolate-making process, with the chance to do a bit of chocolate mixing—and tasting—yourself.

It was really fun and interesting to see the chocolate made from bean to sweets. Very interactive with the audience. We are going to try to make some chocolate ourselves at home from the knowledge gained on this tour.

DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM!!! I added where to pick me and my family up. They never came! They ignored my messages! They ignored my calls! I went to the business location on the Viator website and it was just an empty alley! Complete scam!

Was interesting to see the process from plant/seeds to cacao. Got to sample during each step to understand the whole process and how each step changes the taste.

If you are interested in learning
about how chocolate is made, then l recommend this tour. The tour covers everything from the raw ingredients to the finished product.
The tour guide provides a ton of information about each step in the process and answers your questions.
There are opportunities to taste the product during various stages and participate in making the finished product. I can safely say everyone on the tour had fun. Our tour guide made the entire tour fun as well as entertaining.

Maria was a fantastic guide. We learned about the various types of cocoa trees and then watched the process of turning the cocoa beans into chocolate, tasting the results at every stage. In the end we got to drink freshly brewed hot chocolate, eat chocolate covered fruit and taste various types of dark and milk chocolate. Even my chocoholic wife was sated! Recommend this tour!

My family and I had an unforgettable experience with Mary on this tour! We actually got to help make the chocolate that we later tasted. We learned about every step of the process. The tasting sessions included tasting the cacao fruit, fresh from the tree. We also make fresh hot chocolate.
Mary was very engaging. Her chocolate chef assistant was also fun; I wish I could remember her name. I highly recommend this tour—and make sure you request Mary as your guide! You won’t be disappointed!

When we pulled up to the site and saw that this was part of the "Adventure Park," I realized this experience wasn't quite what I thought I'd signed up for.
First, though: The tour guide, Gary, was AWESOME. Only positive things to say about Gary!
That said, the overall experience was pretty lackluster. We learned a few interesting things about chocolate making, but it all cumulated in... hot chocolate? Everyone was hot and sweaty; the last thing anyone wanted was HOT chocolate!
The excursion was advertised as including "All-you-can-eat tasting of delicious Costa Rican chocolates" and that wasn't the case at all. Just the hot chocolate and a few pieces of candy made earlier in the day. We were told we could could purchase finished product on our way out, but it was just the same Britt stuff available in every tourist shop.
Kind of disappointing and DEFINITELY not worth the price.
Gary was awesome though.
