- Maximum 10 travelers — this is a small-group experience by design
- Is this tour suitable for first-time visitors? Yes — designed for both first-time and repeat visitors. You'll still see Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, and the Grand Bazaar, but through the story of what connects them rather than a simple checklist.
- How much walking is involved? Approximately 3-3.5 km (about 2 miles) across Sultanahmet's historic core, including cobblestone streets and mosque courtyards. The pace is relaxed — no rushing between stops.
- Are there any entrance fees not included? No hidden costs, but also no included tickets — every stop on this route is free to view or enter. We deliberately skip paid interiors (Hagia Sophia's mosque section, Topkapı's inner palace), so there's nothing extra to plan around.
- What is the group size? Maximum 10 guests. Small enough for real conversation and flexible pacing.
- Do we go inside Hagia Sophia or Topkapı Palace? No — we view both from the outside, intentionally. Topkapı's free outer courtyard and Hagia Sophia's exterior let us cover their full stories without ticket lines or extra cost. We do go inside Sultanahmet (Blue) Mosque, which is free.
- What's included? A licensed expert guide and insider recommendations for the Grand Bazaar. No food, drinks, or entrance tickets — this route is built entirely around free, open-access sites.
- What should I wear? Comfortable walking shoes for cobblestones, and modest clothing for the mosque visit (shoulders and knees covered — scarves available on site).
- How is this different from a typical Sultanahmet walking tour? Most Old City tours repeat the same five landmarks in the same order. This one opens at Topkapı Palace's Imperial Gate and follows objects that outlasted every empire that touched them — a Byzantine church the Ottomans never converted, a column Rome brought from Egypt, a stone that once marked the center of the known world.
- This tour/activity will have a maximum of 10 travelers
