An amazing tour.

Adrian_L, Aug 2024
We booked this tour thinking we would be part of a bigger group (up to 15 people) however we were the only two people. Our tour guide Emily was amazing! Very knowledgeable and gave us some handy insight into the Vietnamese culture. Couldn’t have asked for a better day.

My Son

Naoko_W, Dec 2023
It was like a private guide tour because the guests were just two of us. It was slow pace. The guide Helen was very kind and thoughtful for us.

Nice place, wrong tour guide.

Alessandro_R, Mar 2023
We loved the old temples, very interesting. Unfortunately our guide was not able to communicate with us as we expected, he was rushing to show us everything, telling us how tired/busy he was instead of focusing more on history. We spent only 1 hour into nature and it comes with 2 different shows, commercial and tourist attraction (delusional) I would recommend the place but not this guide.

Good Tour

Our guide, Non, was very knowledgeable and gave us a lot of new information on the Cham-pa kingdoms and their history.

Fantastic tour and wonderful tour guide!

We had an absolutely fantastic tour to My Son sanctuary from Hoi An with our brilliant tour guide Tom! Tom made the day even better for us with his excellent knowledge and humour from start to finish. We learned so much on our tour and would recommend it to anyone. Thanks again Tom!

Wonderful Day Trip

Janna_I, Jul 2022
We really enjoyed our day trip to the My Son Sanctuary! Our guide was very knowledgeable. We decided to take the afternoon tour and it was very hot. It was nice, though, because we were the only ones there.

Poor guide

Jamie-Anne H, Aug 2019
Just driven to and dropped at there. Not real depth of explanation of anything. Shame, I bet there is lots to know about this place!

Amazing tour!

We really enjoyed the tour, service was great, very punctual and also informative. I would highly recommend it!

Enriching experience!

Husband and I booked morning tour on May 2. Was hoping to start early as planned (7.30am) but was told the night before that pick-up time was to be pushed back to 8am to accommodate 2 additional persons in the group. The ride to My Son in the last row of the MPV was very uncomfortable with very limited headroom and legroom. However, fortunately or unfortunately, because the driver drove very fast, we were able to get there in about 45 minutes. It was a hair-raising ride with quite a few near misses when the driver kept driving on the opposite direction of the road. However, our guide "Thai" saved the day. He was most attentive and professional. The trip to My Son became a very enriching experience because of his in-depth knowledge of the place and history behind the ruins. He was also an excellent communicator. He literally made history come alive for us! We highly recommend this tour. Just a tip to share: We skipped the cultural show and went to the first ruins cluster to take photos before the crowd descended on the place after the show. Our guide joined us after that to give us the guided tour.

The local tour agency is Hoi An Express. We found the guide to be informative and professional. We were picked up on time and there were a total of 8 people in the group.

Excellent and very interesting excursion! I really enjoyed it. Keep your expectations in check if you've been to Angkor Wat. It's definitely not on that scale, but still worth seeing in my estimation.

Appalling service. Collected at 7:15 in Hoi An, driven to a Da Nang hotel and then on unwanted tour of marble shop - didn't arrive at My Son til 9:45! Only saw 2/7 sites and had to leave at 11. Paid £55 for a 3.5 hour minivan ride and

Excellent tour with our guide Eric! He was very informative and engaging. It was nice to have the morning tour, before the place got too busy with other tour groups. Overall a great experience for our group!

This tour was okay. It would be better if more information about the background and history of the ruins was available at the site. The dance show is interesting and entertaining. The guide was friendly enough. Frankly, the the kids were a little bored most of the day.

The tour was great even though it was a wet day. We were picked up at our hotel on time and guide Eric was very informative on trip to My Son. At My Son Eric again had good info without going over the top with detail. Driver was excellent. Highly recommended.

Awesome trip, with a small and intimate group of 5 adults and 2 children. Our guide was chilled yet informative, and always made sure we got the best vantage points, photos and stayed away from the cruise ship crowds! 100 recommend - thank you! :

Colin C, Oct 2017
Good trip with plenty to see but unfortunately our guide was a little difficult to understand and tended to jump around the subject matter. We stayed in Hoi-an but had to pick up people in Da nang so the trip was extended somewhat. The obligatory 'shopping experience' to the marble carving centre was interesting with no real pressure to buy.

The trip was real fun. The guide spoke good English, he held high energy and was very humorous. Also, during our visit at the site, he explained to us a lot of things about the history of My Son temples. The temples are located in a very beautiful scenery filled with green. It is a highly recommended trip, even though I'd recommend it more if it wasn't as pricey. I think for the kind of the things you see, cost around 30 might have been more reasonable. But other than that there wasn't anything else not to love about!

Jessica L, Jul 2017
I did the My Son morning tour with my partner in mid July. We were picked up from our hotel about 730am on the day in a mini van, then collected another couple along the way at a hotel near ours there were only 6 ppl on our tour. We were then taken to a marble sculpture warehouse for a quick stop off then we headed off to the My Son site, about a 45 minute drive. It was a nice drive along the way through various towns, when we arrived we were dropped off at the entrance to the site gate and walked about 3 minutes to a shuttle which then drove us about 2 kms to the site. It was a fantastic tour and a great opportunity to take some photographs. The guide explained the various structures and who lived in them. Some were destroyed in the war so we weren't able to view these sites as there are virtually no remains left to see. After viewing 4 of the sites about 5 minutes walk between each we headed back to the shuttle and then the mini van for the drive back to our hotel. Our guide was very friendly and took the time to explain Vietnamese culture along the way to the site and well as the history behind the site when we were there, there was a slight language barrier so it was hard sometimes to grasp exactly what was being explained. I highly recommend this tour but one warning I felt wasn't noted anywhere was the heat!! We had been in Vietnam for over a week before this tour so we were well adjusted but being inland amongst the dense bushland the heat hit you like a wall walking to the shuttle bus. My partner and I are fit and in our late 20's, I got back in the bus and said to my partner that I had never experienced humidity and heat like that in any other travels or just life! It was hot!! There was some shade under trees but most of the ruins are out in the open with no relief, I had to walk away from the group one or two times to find some shade just for a few moments relief. I often thought about people a lot older or those who don't cope well in the heat, or those with medical conditions, I worry to think about where you would find medical help if needed. I must note the mini van had excellent air conditioning and it was heaven getting back in that bus! We even closed the air vents about half way through on the drive home as we were cold believe it or not! I suggest bringing a hat, layer on the sunscreen and bring plenty of water!! But a great experience!

The small group tour was perfect for us. We were a group on 4 adults and 3 children aged 11,8 and 3. This tour was 4.5 hours which was long enough with younger children. The tour guide was really knowledgable, he spoke good english and answered all our questions. They did keep up the pace but I was glad of this as we saw everything with enough time and before the heat set in. I would definitely recommend this.

My Son is a must see from Hoi An, its a beautiful place. Small group is definitely the way to go, a huge group arrived as we were making our way back to the bus and they just filled every part of the site. The small group moves quicker and you are so much more comfortable and get a better view of everything
