This is a truly fantastic experience! My entire family had a great time. Our guide was so kind and knowledgeable. We started at the market where we got to see first hand where the ingredients for the the meal comes from. These open markets are really a sight and should not be overlooked when visiting Vietnam. Then we took a 45 minute boat ride up the river. The boat driver let each of my children drive the boat. They thought it was great. Then we transferred to basket boats for a short ride to shore. From there we took a buffalo cart to the restaurant / cooking class location. The head chef is hilarious. All the staff are helpful and kind. My kids are 13, 10, and 9, and they got to cook their own meals just like the adults. They catered to my vegetarian children's needs and really went above and beyond to make it a fantastic day for us. It was a day full of DELICIOUS food and a lot of laughter. Definitely a must-do in Hoi An!

Was a quick walk through of the markets, probably not required as it was literally 5 minutes. There was no massage or water buffalo. We booked to include the water buffalo so there was something cool for our 7yo. Coconut boats, were super touristy, but so much fun. My husband and daughter got moved to another boat to be spun, then the guy spinning asked for 200vnd. Then we felt obliged to also give our boat guide 200vnd too. The cooking class itself was pretty good. We did 4 dishes that were all super yummy. In total the tour was only 3hrs, not 4 as advertised.

More then a cooking class

Tracey_N, Jul 2024
Great start to the tour with the walk through the market and the boat trip and the fun busker boat ride, the food was great but the cooking class itself felt rushed and a lot was done for you or by one person in the group.

Our best day in Vietnam

Susan_P, Aug 2023
The whole day was amazing. From the wonderful informative tour of the market, to the beautiful boat trip, to the fantastic massage and cooking lesson. The staff, in particular our host Hung, were out of this world. Hung, an obviously accomplished cook, was also funny, engaging and knowledgeable. The best day we had in Vietnam by far. I cannot recommend this trip enough.

Perfect day

Craig_J, Jul 2023
A perfect day spent with family, feasting and laughing. Our guide, Hung, was friendly, funny and knowledgeable. We tasted local delicacies at the market, had a leisurely cruise down the river and enjoyed a sublime foot massage all before we started cooking. Even though we had varying levels of confidence in the kitchen the team had created an experience where we were able to immerse ourselves in unique cooking techniques and create some of the tastiest food on our trip so far. Can’t recommend more highly.

Fun afternoon

Janine_W, Mar 2023
This afternoon experience was fun. Be showed us through the markets, talked about different foods & spices, then we went on an old town wood boat up the river & a short basket ride (transferred from boat to basket in the river!) & then a short walk to the restaurant. A short foot massage which was appreciated. (I wouldn’t worry about the skin scraping & Rick salt!). The massage was enough. Then we started cooking. I don’t cook, I am not a cooking person but this was made easy by Be. We had a few laughs at my lack of culinary skills but Be assisted all the way. We cooked 4 dishes. Between each dish you sit down & eat what you cooked. The food was fresh & tasty! Be even managed to get my tomato flower to look half decent! 😂 the kitchen facilities are rustic but clean. I enjoyed the open air cooking. Under roof but open air. It was a fun, enjoyable experience.

A must do in Hoi An

Chris_T, Feb 2023
We had the best day today at the Sabirama cooking class with Bé and her team. We were picked up at our hotel promptly and driven to the market in Hoi An, where we were toured by Bé and had the opportunity to smell and try some foods, as well as buy some also. We then had a boat trip to the restaurant, which included a basket boat ride, which was really fun and our first in Hoi An. Bé explained the history as we journeyed to the restaurant, which was interesting. Once we got there we got a friendly greeting from her team and had a really relaxing massage! It was great to have the opportunity to cook a few different dishes and we learnt a lot of techniques we hadn't done before. We especially liked the pork spring roll, so tasty! All the staff were really welcoming and lovely. We would definitely recommend this cooking class, you won't regret it! Thank you again to Bé and the team, we will remember this day!

This is a great experience

Anna_B, Aug 2019
Done a couple of cooking tours, but this one was even better as it had a bit of everything. We did the morning tour and after a pick up at our hotel we first walked around the markets and our guide Nhu explained everything we didn't know. We then got on a boat and did a trip up the river, then got on a bamboo boat for a quick row (and our rower and my husband tried to beat the others to shore!!). Next a quick buffalo cart ride and photos on the buffalo if you wanted. Once at Sabirama we were treated to a foot massage, then into the cooking. We did 4 courses in total, and they were all tasty and fun to make. I was very proud of my tomato rose :) . Our guide Nhu made the day lots of fun - thank you - and I would recommend this tour to anyone with half a day free in Hoi An.

This was the most interesting and fun-filled attractions and one of the best highlights of my trip to Hoi An. The host was extremely knowledgeable and explained everything in great detail. There is much more to this cooking tour than meets the eye. The market tour, the boat trip, the basket boat ride, the buffalo ride and foot massage were great fun. Had a wonderful time.

Great way to spend half a day in Hoi An. We did so much in few hours, which includes visiting Hoi An's local market, ride a boat in Thu Bon river, got onto the basket boat for a short trip, short buffalo ride, massage, learnt some cooking skills, ate lunch, made a few friends and had fun! Our guide, Ms Nhu is very friendly and fun. She gave us all the attention we needed, making sure we are okay and having fun throughout the day. It is definitely value for money for this package with their excellent services.

Highly recommend this tour. Trip to the market, boat trip, ox cart ride and foot massage even before we started the cooking class. Great value for money. Learnt how to carve flowers from vegetables and cook local dishes. Guide spoke good English and was very patient showing cooking methods

Prompt pickup from hotel. Had so much fun walking thru the market and sampling different products. Even bought delicious coconut cookies. Basket boat ride was great! Thoroughly enjoyed the buffalo cart ride. I love animals and our water buffalo was loved and well-cared for. The foot massage was a welcome treat. The hot water foot soak with lemongrass and guava leaves refreshing. The cooking class was fun. With only four people in our class, it went quickly. Each of us tried hands-on making salad, spring rolls, stir-fried chicken. Would definitely recommend this tour.

This was a really great experience. The market tour was relatively short because it was extremely hot outside, but we appreciated our guide realizing the need for this. The two boat rides and ox cart ride really were very fun additions to the day and made this experience unique. The cooking class portion was good and the food very tasty. I would recommend this trip, it really had many unique aspects that made the day special.

A jam packed experience with truly delicious food. Our 3 children 6,8,10 were able to join in as they had lovely helpers and when they tired of it they played happily nearby. There is a little bit of upselling at a few stages, but nothing major. The basket boats and river boat ride were the kids' highlights, ours was the food. If you are a small eater in hot weather...don't eat breakfast so you can fit it all in. Catered very well for the vegetarian in our group of 8. I'll definitely be making the salad when I get home when I can find a green mango!.

Our Sabirama cooking class was delightful. We enjoyed our journey to get to the cooking class and then a very pleasant time learning to make four different things. We also got to sample our culinary dishes. Our tour guide and chef were delightful to work with and very helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed this tour and would highly recommend you try it.
