I have spoken with the driver, and he told me that he dropped you off at the main lobby and saw you walk inside. However, as the Hoiana complex includes multiple buildings, it's possible there was some misunderstanding.

Don’t fall for the we need to charge you $5 extra and transfer you to an electric car because the car is too big. At our hotel the driveway was a constant flow of busses and large transport vehicles. I don’t like being conned, what you book is what you should get.

Thank you so much for your feedback and your appreciation for our driver. We have also noted your concerns about the additional fee for the electric car transfer to your hotel in downtown Hoi An. We understand your concerns, and we would like to provide some clarification on this matter:
The city authorities have announced restrictions on 16-seater vehicles and upper entering the city center during specific hours: from 11 AM to 1 PM and from 4 PM to 10 PM. Your hotel is located in the central area, and the drop-off time around 12 PM falls within the restricted hours. Therefore, we had to to transfer guests by using electric car and charged a fee for this service. So impressed with this transfer service from the airport to our hotel. As our schedule changed, due to flight delays, they stayed in contact and adjusted their driver to accommodate us.
Even though we were later than the agreed upon time our driver was waiting for us right as we exited baggage claim and took us straight to our hotel (with a quick stop for coffee in between!!).
