A day Hue

Sam was our guide. He was wonderful. He’s from that area so he gave us a lot of information. We had a great group and saw a lot of wonderful things like the beautiful views, the citadel, imperial Palace, pagoda by the river, oyster farming, and we had a wonderful lunch

Our guide was terrific — knowledgeable with great energy. The three sites were good, especially the tomb. The problem with the tour — and this isn’t the tour’s fault — is that Hue is about 3 hours from Hoi An, so it’s a very long drive. (If you’re in Danang, the drive is two hours, which is definitely more manageable.) On the way there, you stop in two spots with beautiful views, On the way back, it’s a straight three hours without even so much as a bathroom break. Visiting the three sites is definitely a bit rushed. I don’t mind that — I move quickly — but others might feel a bit shorted. I just don’t know that two of the three sites warranted a three-hour drive. The citadel, though beautiful, is mostly rebuilt and not original. The pagoda is very pretty, but not much different than others in Vietnam. The tomb, however, was the one site that was worth the drive. The lunch stop was a highly rated restaurant in Hue with a set meal. It was solid for a tour meal, but not overly spectacular or interesting. I was glad that this tour didn’t stop anyplace where they push tourists to buy things. This was solely viewing the historical sites and two nice viewpoints. With the two viewpoints along the drive, please be aware that they may not stop along that route if the weather is bad.

Great tour of historical Hue City. The buildings visited are old and get quite hot during the summer, but the van is well air-conditioned and there is time to cool off between each stop. Good option if you are staying in Da Nang but want to visit Hue during your trip to Vietnam.

I had a blast today on the tour! The first stop really is to sell you pearls but after that it is good. You can skip the pearl presentation and get food/coffee outside or use the restroom. Loan (Pea) was such a delight and had some good jokes during the briefings. She did a great job keeping the large group together even towards the end of the day.

Long journey, but if you like history well worth the time

Journey from Hoi An took around 3 hours. We were collected in Hoi An, then did some pick ups in Da Nang, before tour started. We stopped twice on the way and no stops on way back, other than drop offs at Da Nang. Ray our tour guide was very knowledgeable and passionate on Vietnam history. He gave us lots of interesting facts to remember. First stop was in the mountains, a few minutes to take some photos of view down to a large bay. 2nd stop was in Lagoon. Where we had time for a small walk about, coffee and comfort break. We visited Hue Imperial City, The Citadel and then went for lunch at a restaurant in Hue. All included in trip, only had to pay for drinks with lunch. Went onto Thien Mu Pagoda and lastly The Mausoleum of the Emperor Khai Dinh in Hurong Thuy. Journey very long but, the visits were very interesting and beautiful. At each stop we were given some time to wonder by ourselves. Thanks to Ray and driver, who looked after us very well.

Great tour to see Hue sights

We got to see the three main Hue sights and spend plenty of time at each. Our tour guide Loan was great. She explained everything, was extremely well-organized and professional and told some interesting stories. Lunch was also terrific - a large sampling of local dishes at a historic restaurant. Overall, a very good day!

Hoi An to Hue day tour

The tour was to pick us up outside of our hotel at 7:15 however they were a half an hour late. Then we drove for another 2 hours to pick up all the other passengers. On the way back it took an additional 1-1/2 hrs. to get everyone back to their hotels. I did not think that this was what we signed up for.

On that day we pick only your group in Hội An at 7.15-7.20am on time (no one else) and on the way to Hue, we pick up some more in Da Nang ( our tour is small group not private) I am still keeping the GPS location and itinerary of our bus. We sent to viator supporter to send you. I think you confused another tour. Thank you and enjoy your holiday

Not worth going

Quick our tour guy and he was awesome. He tried his best to accommodated everyone request. We stop at few places that wasn't included because the Vietnamese speakers crew requested. Such as, stop by a dress tailor salon and a view that we had to paid extra 100.000 dong. I recommend that the tour should be split by English and Vietnamese speaker. This tour was more catering to Vietnamese speaker. Much was explained in Vietnamese and all non Vietnamese speakers had to wait until all Vietnamese speakers goes first even we the non Vietnamese speakers waited in lines first.
