It was a wonderful experience for us. The staff was really kind, very polite and helped us a lot with the Kimonos. They explained stepwise the traditional tea ceremony. It was a place of silence and relaxation. We enjoyed it very much. We are happy that we booked it at Okeiko Japan!
We can recommend the original Miyajima chocolate as well. They were delicious 🍫 😋

Such a lovely and wonderful experience! The ladies made me feel so welcome and I felt so beautiful in my kimono, the process of putting on the kimono was a big part of the experience!

We had an amazing kimono and tea ceremony experience in the morning. The temple was beautiful and we got really nice photos in the garden. Also, we learned about the four principles of tea-making in Buddhism and is a must-do for anyone looking for a traditional Japanese experience.

Lovely place in a temple to discover the proper way to put a Kimono and how to drink tea in a tea ceremony. Sweets were good and there is plenty of choices of Kimono. Very welcoming staff, I had a lovely time.

I absolutely LOVED this experience! The ladies were so kind and gentle and made me feel very comfortable! While i performed it on my own they even recorded for me and sent to me through Instagram. I ended up buying an elegant tea set ! So excited !

I visited with friends as a group of four, and we were treated so specially: dressed in full kimono, shown the art of tea ceremony and then taught how to perform the steps ourselves, and then given plenty of time to ask questions and take pictures to share.

I loved everything about it. The ladies were so friendly and it was beautiful to get dressed for the ceremony. I only wished we would have sat on the floor, but for tourists they have set up tables.

I would definitely recommend this experience if you have time during your visit in Miyajima! The entire experience is near a small temple which is off the beaten path and away from the hustle and bustle of the main business streets. It offered the tranquillity you would expect of island life and let you experience Japanese traditional culture at its finest.
The ladies here are well versed in English and super helpful in getting you dressed up in your kimonos and will help you take as many fun photos as you want! The tea ceremony itself was also amazing as they explained every step of the process and how to best enjoy your matcha, after which you get to do it all yourself!

The staff was very kind!!! They explain a lot of the tea ceremony and culture and are very interactive with guests and very knowledgeable about any questions you have.
Also, they allow you to take photos and take photos of you during the ceremony and video if you like which is perfect to share on social media or with family back home!!!
I highly recommend this for people who are visiting the Hiroshima area and want to get involved in a Japanese custom.

Such a special experience for our family. We loved dressing up in kimonos and taking pictures in the beautiful garden. The kids loved the tea ceremony! We went with another couple and 5 kids total. The ladies were so patient and kind with us! Would recommend this experience to anyone!

We had a lovely experience wearing the kimonos and having the tea experience. The chocolate we were given before tea was heavenly. The kimonos were so beautiful. The hosts were so kind and gave us a warm welcome and an once in a lifetime experience. I recommend trying it while on the island, especially if you are a foreigner that wouldn't come across this ritual on a regular basis at home.

The whole experience was excellent. The staff were the most polite and friendly you could ask for. They were very helpful, patient and were happy to assist with a few pictures etc. we were a group of six and we were in a small party with another group of six which was perfect size. We also managed to leave a bag behind and they went out of their way to contact us before we left the island. The kimonos (both male and female) were lovely fabrics and were expertly fitted to each of us. Also in a beautiful setting. Thoroughly recommend.

Amazing experience! Definitely need to put on your to do list. The ladies were so patient with our group and the English speaking translator was exceptional. Small groups so get a personalised feeling. Dressing in Kimono made it feel so real and they let us walk around the ground and take lots of photos. Believe this experience was way better than a large group in a bigger city like Kyoto.

This activity was the absolute highlight of our stay in Hiroshima/ Miyajima. I cannot recommend this highly enough if you want a truly cultural experience of Japan. The ladies who run this experience are delightful and speak excellent English. They assist you in putting on a kimono, then take you through a tea ceremony with a full demonstration, followed by your individual experience of performing your own tea ceremony. This is complimented by local chocolates. Following the ceremony there is an opportunity to take photographs in their beautiful gardens.

We were kindly welcomed into the residence, and went through a dressing process for our kimono. All of us came out looking grand in our attire. Next the various ceremonies including chocolate, tea, etc. Our host were friendly, helpful and so kind. Great experience, off the beaten track to find and worth exploring thereafter. Tremendous afternoon and highly recommended. Loved the chocolates!

I liked the way we got to choose a kimono that fit and were carefully dressed. The tea ceremony was very interesting. The staff were helpful and even came to find me before the event. The large number of pictures they took make a lovely souvenir of my visit.

We were wowed! Beautiful venue and a very intimate experience. Lovely and peaceful garden and grounds. It's just off the beaten track and easy to find. Our hosts were amazing and the tea ceremony was just perfect. The kimonos were very high quality. This experience is not like the other rent-a-kimono experiences, we had our own private space and 3 ladies helped us to dress. I was worried about wearing Kimono as I am tall and a size 18 but they were able to cater for me. Overall I could not have asked for more. Thank you to the ladies there for providing an experience we will never forget.
