It was great to get outside the city and see the forest. The mushrooms were plentiful and gigantic, bigger than anything I’ve ever seen. The guide was great and I would highly recommend the experience.

What a fantastic day in the beautiful wild forests. Learnt so much about mushrooms, fungi and wild berries. Jeff and Christian were fabulous hosts and made it a great day. Collecting and cooking mushrooms for a yummy lunch. Not overly strenuous leaving you that comfortable glowing tiredness. Met some great new friends.

Alex is a such a great guide and we loved our mushroom hunting tour! He’s quite knowledgeable and accommodating to everyone’s needs. We hiked and hunted for mushrooms before sitting a delicious Finnish meal. It’s a small group tour, which makes it easier to meet and interact with others in the group. I highly recommend this tour!

When I first saw this tour on viatour, I thought what a unique concept when it comes to tours. So I signed up for it, not quite knowing what I was getting into. However, I will say this is one of the best tours that I've taken anywhere or with viator. This tour is run by a couple, Jeff and Kiia. Their knowledge of mushrooms and of the forest and landscapes of Finland is unquestionable. In addition to being knowledgeable, they are very friendly and make you feel at home in the environment of the forest. It was not only a wonder, but also a pleasure to listen to the explanations of the world of mushrooms. It showed us mushrooms that were edible, ones that were questionable, and definitely ones. We should not even think twice about eating. Once our hunting and selections were done, we moved to a campsite where we cooked off the mushrooms and had a wonderful lunch. It was a day that I will never forget. Coming from a crowded big city. It was almost mine blowing to be out in the country with no one else around other than our small group. I recommend this tour, rather highly recommend this tour, to anyone interested in the other than normal food or city tour. I definitely will take this tour and their other tours when I return.

This was such a wonderful experience! The guide was kind and very knowledgeable. A nice leisurely walk with so many mushrooms to see on the way. The meal was also absolutely delicious. Highly recommend!

My favorite day enjoying Finland’s nature!

I loved this tour! I went in October and it was very cold but our guide had plenty of clean thick wool hats, gloves, and scarves, and windproof pants to slip over our pants to keep us warm. The forest was stunning and learning about mushrooms and finding them was enjoyable. Our guide was intelligent, made things comfortable and enjoyable. You ride over in van and it takes over an hour to get there. You get to help prepare the mushrooms which our guide cooks over a fire. We also had tasty salmon soup, rye bread, blueberry juice, cardamom bread and tea. It was a wonderful day!

This tour was absolutely incredible. My husband and I had the best time finding mushrooms and berries and learning all about the wonderful things that grow and live in Liesjärvi National Park. Jeff was an excellent guide and I would highly recommend this excursion! You haven’t really seen Finland unless you take this tour. This was the highlight of our trip and we can’t wait to come back and do it again! Thank you Jeff and Kiia!

Nous avons passé un incroyable moment, plongé dans la forêt Finlandaise. Le guide est passionné et cela se ressent ! Nous avons découvert énormément autour des champignons, de la forêt, de la région, des oiseaux et bien d’autres. Les petits plats cuisinés sont délicieux et dégustés dans un cadre idyllique. Nous sommes repartis avec un panier entier de champignons !
