(1) Extremely poor time coordination. 1 hour late in pick up at hotel. Made to board a moving bus and 3+hours to reach jetty even though we took highway. Guide claimed bus cannot go fast. Arrived in Hanoi around 930pm when we left jetty arnd 6pm. Super hungry and tired. Eat more at reststop. (2) Cramped and uncomfortable bus if u r tall and hv long legs. Guide said we have to bear with it cos we paid for a cheap tour. (3) water was given but appears to be repackaged by tour company as the cap was leaking even before opening. (4) lunch was very bad and we had to share food with others. 6 to form a table. No serving spoons n was unhygienic. Consists of cucumber salad that tasted bland with large chunks of cucumber, tiny fried springrolls, super hard fried chicken, muddy tasting fried fish, bland stir-fried veg and squids, steam prawns, mushy rice, watermelons. No water provided. Need to buy. (5) tiptov island packed w people going up to the top and on the beach. Mostly PRCs. Noisy. Climb up was steep and steps very narrow and high. Bad for ankles and knees. Not much view at the top. just packed with tourist struggling to take some pics. Waste of time. Very rushed as we were gvn only 30mins to go up n come down to return to boat. (6) bumboat ride was 10mins only. Nothing much to see! (7) limestone cave was ok but again packed with tourists. Need to climb steps too. Most opted to stay on board the boat. (8) whole bay packed with vessels. Not much natural sight left. Overall very badly coordinated tour. It was made up of tour from different tour companies to make it worth it. Very bad. DO NOT JOIN THIS TOUR.

I went to Hanoi with my mum who is an elderly and our tour guide had been very caring and kept asking if she is ok during the entire trip.

It's a very long bus ride with an hour of hotel pick ups at the start - about 7 hours on the bus overall. The guide had good English and the ferry around the bay was very enjoyable. If possible, do an overnight trip to get the most out of it

very good, but long day. picked up 8am back at 8pm.Cave visit good but needed longer to take photos, boat trip was good. kayaking good.

Tour guide was lovely, by far the best we had on all trips, cruise around halong bay was a bit touristy, and 4 hr trip either end, but worth while

Though not perfect, this trip is enjoyable. Worth a visit if you don't mind the traffic there. The guide is friendly and every is quite well planned and package-d.
