We had a great time with this tour. Charles picked us up right at the start time from our hotel and drove us to the rice terraces. We were fortunate to visit the rice terraces just a few days before the harvest, so the hills were a spectacular sea of gold, with layers and layers of rice fields.
During the trip, he knew all the logistical tricks to avoid the biggest crowds and congested areas. He was also knowledgeable and passionate about his hometown, and gave us a lot of insight about the history and culture of the area.
This tour was a wonderful experience!

This was the best tour we took in China! Charles reach out to us and pre arrange the itinerary to our preference. Then a few days prior to the tour, Charles reached out again to confirm. He’s very professional . He connects us to our tour guide, Jenny, who was pleasant, sweet, on time, and most importantly spoke very well English. She’s accommodate us to all of our needs and took really good care of my mom who needs a little help with the walk. Book this tour, you will not regret it and remember to ask for Jenny.

The price of this private tour is very good considering the distance travelled (2.5h from Guilin downtown to Longsheng, one way), plus the quality of service. Charles (who I spoke with on Viator) responds promptly.
Sandy, our guide & driver, was great - China had just opened up recently, and there are barely any English tours available, so it was a big deal that Sandy spoke English.
Sandy arrived early at our hotel for pickup (and graciously waited for us who were running late from breakfast 🙈), we dropped by all the stops mentioned in the tour description, after which we were dropped off at our hotel. We chose not to stay long at Huangluo Yao village (which was packed with domestic tourists at the time). At Longji rice terraces, we had the flexibility to wander around on our own, which was easy because there were a LOT of signs (as in one at every junction, in both English & Chinese). We also had the flexibility to have lunch whenever and wherever we wanted - there were several restaurants open, all serving the traditional bamboo chicken & rice (which was delicious). It was rainy & foggy the day we went (and we couldn't reschedule anymore given our itinerary in China), so we didn't get a clear view of the famed "dragon's back" in Longji, but there were many other incredible things to see & experience - sea of clouds rolling over the terraces, ancient villages perched on rocky mountains, the friendly locals.

We had a very nice trip to the Longji rice terraces. Our guide Jackie picked us up punctually at our hotel lobby, and was telling us a lot about the region and life in China. At the destination, we did a little hike together and got to learn more about the history of the rice fields.
Jackie was also very flexible in terms of what we wanted to see or dont see. 5/5 would book again!

to see absolutely, however it is very far and driving is very dangerous in China .Lots of traffic .I attended a dance show with minorities with long hair ,not worth the price ,moreover it was not included .The guide stops us at a visit of tea fields with a 5 minute tour of explanation with a tasting of which we feel obliged to buy tea which is at 40$ Canadian the small pot very disappointing .

La gita è bellissima perché i luoghi sono meravigliosi ma ci siamo trovati male con la guida perché ci ha fatto praticamente solo da taxi e per tutto il resto della giornata ci ha lasciati completamente da soli a girare per le risaie e senza quindi poter avere la possibilità di imparare qualcosa sul posto che stavamo visitando.
