Had a really good experience visiting Longji Rice Terraces. My driver and guide Sandy was very friendly and easy to talk to, which made the whole trip more enjoyable. I felt safe throughout the journey as his driving was steady and comfortable. He also shared some background and explanations along the way, which helped me understand the places better. The whole trip was smooth and well organised, no stress at all. Overall very enjoyable, would definitely recommend to others!

Incredible view

You are going to see remarkable view of the rice fields even in winter. Our guide Liao suggested taking the golf cart up and then walking which was a very good choice since it was a foggy day and it just cleared up when we arrived long enough to get some beautiful photos. He also preordered a wonderful lunch for us in the local restaurant.

Unsafe experience

We just completed this tour and feel it’s important to report a serious issue with the driver’s conduct. Throughout the drive, the driver was weaving in and out of traffic, making illegal moves on the road and was constantly on the phone while driving, which felt unsafe and irresponsible. In addition, the driver made several unscheduled stops that were unrelated to the tour, including stopping for gas, washing the car, and running personal errands to pick up some boxes. These interruptions significantly disrupted the tour and gave the impression that our time and safety were not being respected. Overall, the experience was highly unprofessional and fell well below what we would reasonably expect from a paid tour service. We are sharing this feedback so it can be properly addressed and to help ensure future guests do not have a similar experience.

Bad organization

The trip was okay, of course the rice fields are stunning but the organization was not the best. The guide first made a detour to a tea field, clearly owned by his friend, that took 1hour. Was interesting but not what we paid for and ended up delaying Everything. Moreover, he underestimated the amount if tourists at the rice fields, and instead of speeding things up, He took super long to do the Long hair village (which in my opinion is nothing interesting apart from the performance which you have to pay for) and we had the feeling he wanted to bring us and buy souvenirs from his friends. When we finally arrived ar the beginning of the rice field was already 2.15 pm and he did not want to stop for lunch (he was planning to have lunch again at his friends after the tour) so we had some snacks. The worst thing is that we did the tour of the rice field with the rain and fog, because he did not check the weather, while the whole morning was very sunny. Finally after the tour (5.30pm) he wanted to stop for lunch at his friends, clearly because he had free food there, forcing us to buy something while we just wanted to get back. We finally arrived at the hotel at 8pm. Overall: we suggest to do the rice field checking the weather evolution over the day and not accept any detour.

Regarding your suggestion to drive to the Longji Rice Terraces, visit the area, have lunch, take a quick look at the Longhair Village, and then drive back to the hotel—we appreciate your input. We also take into account other tourists' advice, such as stopping at the Longhair Village first, especially for those who prefer an early lunch or wish to watch the longhair show, before proceeding to the Longji Rice Terraces. Alternatively, if some tourists feel the Longhair Village is too crowded, we can skip it accordingly. As a local tour operator based in Guilin, we strive to provide the best possible experience for our guests. However, we regret that we are unable to ensure 100% satisfaction for every tourist, though we will continue to try our best. I would also like to clarify that I was at the Longji Rice Terraces from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM. The weather was foggy from 9:00 AM until 1:30 PM, and it was not sunny in the morning. The skies began to clear after 2:30 PM. Thank you again for your kindness, and we wish you all the best for the remainder of your trip in China.

We booked this experience last minute (at 3:00 am in the morning) and we couldn’t believe that they actually pulled it off. At 9:00 am our tourguide Audrey picked us up at the hotel. And she was absolutely amazing! She spoke english very well and knew so much about just almost everything regarding the region and history. And she was always open to change the itinerary to your liking. Considering the price we paid and the last minute order we placed, we basically just got gifted a vip experience. Would definitely recommend! Especially if you wanna experience everything the local way. And the rice fields were one of the most beautiful sceneries I’ve ever seen. We did a day trip from Yangshuo. We had a great guide accompanying us — Sundy. Sundy was very informative, giving us tonns of information when we asked, yet very caring, giving us privacy when we needed it. He is also amazingly positive person — you just cant have a bad time and mood with him. If you happen to be on a trip with Sundy — be sure to have amazing time! The terraces are super nice place, finally giving us some rest from the heat of Chinese September we're not used to. This place is genuine and very beautiful, at times feels like alpes. It's a shame we only had one day there — I wish we could stay a bit longer. The only thing we didn't fully liked was food — too heavy, with too much fat, but mb we weren't lucky with particular dishes we chose. Aside from that — great trip with a great guide, and the place is a must visit!

I was arriving by train in the morning so I needed pickup at the train station and drop off at the hotel and Leo immediately replied to me via Viator that it was not an issue. Leo is one of the best guides I’ve had in China. He was very responsive on the app, picked me up at the train station, drove, ensured I could see what I wanted to see and escape the other tourists, and provided great information on the sites we visited. He’s also very interesting, we had great conversations and he speaks very well English. I can’t recommend this tour and Leo enough. It was simply perfect. And the rice fields are beautiful. Leo took me to a really nice restaurant offering chicken and rice cooked inside bamboo. It was delicious. Meeting with the long-haired ladies was also an interesting experience. Great day!

Experience one of your best days in China

The day with Lee was one of our best days in China. He picked us up on time, chatted with us the whole journey (which was safe and comfortable) and we learned many interesting facts from him. He was flexible, knowledgeable and kind. We didn't have to worry about anything, Lee handled things for us. Even though we literally spent a whole day together, he was patient and even suggested extra activities. When we mentioned we could use some help getting back from a different city the next day, he arranged a driver for us, for which are very thankful (just saying that this drive was not comfortable though). Rice terraces: everything was according to the information written in the description, moreover, the weather turned out perfectly. We experienced the culture, food, learned some history and finally saw more than just a big city. Must see!
