My name is Diego. I have a bachelor's degree in tourism and a master's in local economic development from the University of Guadalajara.
I created this experience to introduce travelers to Guadalajara, the city where I was born and raised.
More than a regular tour, I'd like to provide you with a thoughtful progression through the city, with an emphasis on history, architecture and socio-political movements.

We had the great fortune to have Diego as a guide on a walking/food tour of Guadalajara. He is super knowledgeable and so engaging! As a native, he shared favorite memories of growing up here. On our walk, he pointed out numerous amazing historical and architectural features, past and present. He introduced us to delicious steamed tacos for breakfast and we dined on scrumptious crunchy fish tacos and artisanal ice cream in the massive Mercado San Juan de Dios. If you need recommendations about Guadalajara and other areas just ask! You must go on a tour with Diego! You will love it!

We booked Diego through Viator for a private walking tour and it was absolutely the daytime highlight of our Guadalajara trip.
Diego’s tour expertly covers Colonia Americana, four distinct barrios, and the historic city center. His knowledge of Guadalajara’s history, architecture, and culture is extensive, and he brings it all to life with engaging storytelling.
What sets Diego apart is his personal touch. He took us to his favorite torta place from childhood where we tried torta ahogada - a true local specialty. He also guided us to a vibrant neighborhood market filled with energy and food vendors from all around. The quesabirria (quesadilla with birria) we had there was outstanding and something we never would have found on our own. The owners have been serving the same dish at the same location for over 50years!
Diego didn’t just show us tourist sites - he shared his Guadalajara. The markets, the authentic eateries, the hidden corners of each neighborhood - these experiences gave us a genuine feel for the city that goes far beyond what any guidebook could provide.
Diego says he offers about six different tour options covering various aspects of Guadalajara and the Jalisco region. We’re already planning to contact him for our next visit to explore different areas with his expert guidance.

This tour is wonderful, a must-do for any Guadalajara visitor! Diego is so knowledgeable about the history of the city and and historic sites. This tour was a highlight of my visit to Guadalajara and I only wish I'd booked more of Diego's tours. He is an excellent guide who also offers a Guadalajara food tour and a number of tours/day trips to other popular areas near Guadalajara (including Tequila). I will absolutely be booking with Diego next time I'm in town. Do yourself a favor and book this walking tour, as well as his other offerings. Just be sure to book in advance, his calendar fills up!

The tour was engaging and taught us a lot about Guadalajara’s history and Diego showed us a lot of beautiful Catholic Churches that were made hundreds and thousands of years ago. It was a very fun tour where Diego walked use 2 miles exploring Colonia Americana all the way to Centro Historico. I would highly recommend Diego’s tour to anyone who loves walking and exploring new areas and historical sites of Guadalajara.

This tour is very in depth and informative without being too heavy. The pace is relaxed. Diego is a great guide. Diego kept things interesting and answered questions when asked. Diego was more than happy to take pictures at any and all sites. As a surprise to me, Diego concluded the tour by visiting Mercado Libertad-San Juan de Dios. Diego's guidance through the mercado was amazing. A visit I might not have done on my own.

Diego does a wonderful walking tour taking you through the history of Guadalajara with an incredible knowledge and a wonderful sense of humor. We finished our tour with a one of the best meals of true local flavor in the large market. Our entire group, ranging in ages from twenties to seventies, had a fantastic time and would go off with Diego to explore any time.

Overall, I highly commend this tour without any reservation.
I'm English speaker and Diego has done excellent job explaining the history, architectures and culture as a local. He lived in US and could relate some of the city vibes to US culture.
Along the way, Diego took me to local coffee place, restaurant and shops (in the market), all of them are very authentic and reasonably priced.
Since I'm solo traveler, he is very mindful about where to help me take pictures!
After we finished the tour, Diego recommended a couple places for me to explore.

Diego is a wonderful tour guide, with a masters degree in tourism and a local of Guadalajara he is able to eloquently and comfortably take any traveler through the streets of the city. I highly recommend this tour. Even if it costs more than the others on the app, you are getting an educated and fun and safe tour of the city. Diego walked me through markets that I would’ve never gone through alone, but felt completely safe once I was there with a local. I even visited those markets several times later by myself with complete ease and comfort, because Diego had introduced me to the culture and area so well.

Diegoo our tour guide took us onto a detailed immersion in the colonial history of the city, from Colonia Americana the newest part to the most ancient part of the city from early 1500’s. Amazing tour with detailed explanations and immersion into daily life at typical markets. A must do in Guadalajara!!

The tour with Diego was excellent! He communicated with us prior to the trip to make sure we understood what we signed up for. The tour truly was like a walk through time. Diego’s passion for the city truly comes through as he talks about not only architecture, but social and cultural topics as well. When we return to Guadalajara, it would be our pleasure to take another tour with Diego. Additionally, for LGBT travelers considering tours, booking a private tour can be concerning simply because you never know how you’ll be treated. Diego made us feel completely comfortable and at ease from the beginning. I would have no hesitation in recommending him!

Diego was awesome and extremely knowledgeable about the historic sites we visited. He was extremely accommodating and at no time, did we feel pressured to move at a faster pace. During the time we were there. an issue with international cell service caused us to be "disconnected" outside of hotel WiFi. He helped us find a place to remedy the issue, so we had cell service during the rest of our stay. Diego is also excellent in keeping in touch with you.
We chose to do this tour as a couple and that was one of the best decisions we have made compared to other tours elsewhere we have taken in the past. It is well worth the extra charge. His tour was the most memorable time of our stay in Guadalajara.
We would highly suggest this tour and do it EARLY in your stay. He has great recommendations for places to see and eat. That way, you can take advantage of those to plan the rest of your stay. Had we more time, we would not have hesitated to take another of his tours to Chapala or a tequila experience. You will not be disappointed with the tour! Very highly recommended!
