It was a Good experience, you will drink a lot. But in Tequila you will spend just an hour, it would be great if we could have spent a bit more time.

Jhonatan was a fantastic guide, he kept the group lively all day whilst also explaining about all the tequila! The tequila tasting itself was fantastic and just the right amount!

Nice tour, nice insight into Tequila making. Good atmosphere among the guests, friendly and competent driver (Charlie). The only negative thing (and the reason for the rating): I booked and paid for the tour from/to my hotel. Pickup from the hotel in the morning with a taxi was fine, upon return, I was left in the city on my own, the driver stating my hotel is too far away from the city. If you are not willing to deliver pickup/drop off service to there, just don't sell it.

Tour was great, our guide Jonathon explained everything and took care of the few English speaking guests on the tour. The only negative aspect was the lunch stop at SkyView Restaurant. The was food quality and overpriced. The town of Tequila was delightful and we would have had rather had lunch in town. Also, although it was nice to have the soda available on the bus, as it was very hot having having water available on the bus is essential in our opinion. Ted and Marnie Melnyk

Bring extra pesos for hidden costs

The tour covered many different areas / sites with multiple tastings. Tour guide was fine although he mostly focused on getting us to tastings and didn't offer much in terms of explaining local history, customs or other interesting details. Online, the description said tastings were included in the price. However, it turns out we were required to pay for the shot glasses for each of the tastings!? It was a small fee and, thankfully we had pesos on us but we felt the extra cost was a little odd...

Come on! There was only 20 extra pesos in each place, that’s like 2 dollars and you keep the shot glasses!!! And it wasn’t even from us, all the tequila places will charge you for that!!! They try to get rid of plastic, but I respect your opinion and we appreciate your business with us! I’m sorry you didn’t enjoyed as you should

Blue Agave Everywhere

Our tour guide Jonathan also served as our driver. We we picked up promptly at our hotel and Jonathan narrated the beautiful blue agave landscape on our ride from Guadalajara to Tequila. We stopped at two distilleries and learned the process of making this spirit. Jonathan's driving was expert especially challenging on some rough road surfaces. We sampled Tequila at both stops. I learned two important lessons regarding myself and Tequila: I have been drinking the "wrong" all my life and I can't afford the Tequila I now prefer. Although I had a great time, I don't think the production of Tequila is particularly interesting and I didn't find the city of Tequila very interesting, either. Would I take this tour again? No. I would only recommend it for someone who is fascinated by Tequila (and likes to drink Tequila before lunch). However, our guide/driver Jonathan was first rate.

This was great fun. The mini bus arrived on time and we had tequila on the way. The drive is quite interesting looking over all of the agave fields and the tour guide is very helpful. We had 2 tours of tequila distilleries and got to try a lot. Then went for some food at a restaurant with panoramic views of tequila, followed by a mooch round the village of tequila. Very interesting and fun day!

Great experience if you know nothing about tequila.

Great party experience. Our guide was amazing! The food however at the restaurant we stopped at was not. It’s not the guides fault by any means, but having a day in tequila and being able to choose my own place to eat would have made this a 6 star review. I think it would have also been a better idea to go straight to tequila and work our way back as I was exhausted and uninterested in attending a bar at the end of my journey after sampling tequila so early in the day. I would still recommend the experience and make sure to eat before and save your energy because there’s lots of opportunity to have beverages on the bus, en route, and at each stop.

We just finished our trip to Tequila & Guadalajara MX. with GDL Tours booked thru Via Tours. Our driver/co-owner was named Pako. He was AMAZING, to say the least. Thoroughly knowledgeable about everything. He took us to several Tequila manufacturing plants where we had soooo many different types of Tequila. BTW he speaks excellent English. The next day he met us in Guadalajara & again impressed us as to his knowledge of everything. Due to the Covi 19 many of the Government facilities were closed but he did take us to Tona MX. where they have an enormous 10 block plus street market where you can buy just about anything. we also went on a tour of Guadalajara and Tlaquepaque, a upscale collection of stores and street vendors. Our guides name is PAKO, he is co owner of GDL Tours. I strongly suggest that when you book this tour that you ask for him.
