Itinerary

After boarding an air-conditioned minivan at the Port of Las Palmas, you’ll travel to the quaint Gran Canarian village of Teror. Teror has remained virtually unchanged for centuries and offers an abundance of colonial architecture and charming churches. On a guided walking tour, you’ll see landmarks such as Basilica de la Virgen del Pino and learn of Teror’s religious heritage.

Then, return to your vehicle and travel to Bandama Caldera — a 4,000-year-old volcanic crater smothered in volcanic ash and native Gran Canaria flora. During time at leisure, capture photographs of the crater and revitalize with coffee at the neighboring golf course (own expense).

On the return journey to the Port of Las Palmas, you’ll stop at a local wine cellar to sample red and white wines accompanied by artisan cheese, and enrich your knowledge of Gran Canaria’s fertile vineyards.

Conclude your tour with drop-off at the Port of Las Palmas.

Bruno was super knowledgeable, personable and a great host for the say with a passion for his country! We saw and heard so much that we would have missed. We loved his knowledge of plants and the land. The winery was extraordinary with all the different fruit plants and vines. Even showed us a beautiful spot for lunch at the dragons tail. The real Gran Canaria

During our Canarian cruise, four of us took a private tour with Bruno in Gran Canaria to explore some of the "real" Gran Canaria. Although my husband and I had previously visited the tourist areas including hiring a car to explore by ourselves, being with Bruno opened our eyes to some of the best kept secrets of this lovely island. Tasting the delicious local produce (which unfortunately is not exported!), visiting the village of Teror where we saw the most beautiful church alter I have ever seen anywhere in the world and learning about the history of the island in an interesting way really made for a wonderful day's experience.

Our tour guide Frank was great! He took us to the volcano crater and explained about the formation of the island and the natural flora. We also went to a couple of villages that were very pretty and Frank did a good job of explaining the history of the area. We were getting hungry so he took us to his hometown and went to a local restaurant where we got to sample local food and wine. Delicious! This was one of the best tours we did on our cruise in Spain and the Canary Islands.

We had a fantastic day with an excellent driver/guide in Frank who looked after us so well. Seven in our family group in a mini bus. Just the right amount of information and plenty of stops for photos and refreshments. Certainly the best trip we have had in a long while. We chose this instead of one offered by the cruise line and were so glad that we had! Frank went out of his way to ensure we had a great day.
