Overview

Riding through the dunes on a camel and spending a night at a traditional desert camp is one of Morocco’s most memorable experiences. Fantastic tour! Definitely recommend, our first guide Driss was incredibly friendly and informative. The desert was the highlight and had tall, beautiful dunes. We especially enjoyed sandboarding and the camel ride. Be sure to bring a decent amount cash though because you will have to buy lunch and drinks and nowhere accepts cards. Also be prepared for the camel drivers to ask for money for pictures or try to guilt you into buying an overpriced souvenir

This tour has you driving from Fez to a small camp near the dunes. It's not near Merzouga town or Hassi Labad. The first day gets you to the dunes, the second day you have most of the day in the hotel to yourself. There are no taxis so besides walking to the dunes by yourself, there's nothing to do. I ended up playing cards with the workers at the hotel. In the winter, staying an extra day at the hotel is likely the only way to ensure you'll be at the dunes before sunset. The drive is long and by the time you're on a camel on your way to the dunes, the sun is setting. Do the three day tour in the winter to ensure sunset

trip and tent review

The overall trip was ok. The standard tent was in disrepair, lighting was very dim, shower drain was plugged and so not a good experience during the shower. transport was by minivans and none of the drivers switched on the AC as per itinerary, so the latter is really deceiving. gets really hot in the vans. This tour operator needs to check that the itinerary is being followed.

at first I was a bit afraid this tour was a scam because there were no reviews or the name of the operator, but the pick up was on time, and we did everything the itinerary suggested, its just a very long journey from fez to the desert and then the desert to marrackesh, I would recomend doing the other way around
