This was a very interesting tour. Learned so much about how we get our cork purses, corks etc. The gift shop had so many cork things to choose from. It was a great day! Would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Portugal.
Melissa_B, Apr 2026
The tour was very informative. You don’t get to see any actual products being made. This factory just prepares the cork to be shipped to a production facility in northern Portugal. We still enjoyed it though.

Very informative presentation. Well worth the visit and money. Very glad we took the time to experience this.

Very worth the time and effort. A good introduction to the Cork industry. This was a delightful q and 1/2 tour with very friendly and knowledgeable staff.

Could really be an interesting tour, if they would keep it to a reasonable size group. Must have been at least 70 people crammed into a small room to watch the information video. Very warm and uncomfortable seating, people coughing and sneezing in close quarters didn't help. Unless you were in the first few rows you couldn't see the tv screen. Once the tour started with the large group you couldn't hear the guide anyway. The shop is also way too small for groups this size.

I very much enjoyed this experience. Very informative and worth while. We had to take an Uber there but pretty reasonable. And the cork product shop had lots of things to buy.
It truly was at least an hour of information and demonstration

Tour started at 11:30. They allowed people to join after it stated and unfortunately it interrupted the speaker. Very disruptive. The group was extremely large which meant it was difficult to hear the guide during the tour. The guide did the best she could considering the circumstances.

We were a bit sceptical when the Uber driver dropped us off out in the middle of nowhere- but what an experience it is once you enter the building!
The tour was very informative and interesting.
I would 100% recommend going!

A nice way to spend an hour or so. The presentation is very interesting. There are lots of cork-based souvenirs to choose from. I recommend buying before the tour as the store is very crowded at the end. Standing on the concrete floor for a long time isn't great. The workers checking the quality of the cork must be very strong.

Excellent tour of the cork factory! Very informative! There was an introductory video and then we were shown the some cork at various stages.
Val_G, Mar 2026
It was really interesting to learn about the cork industry and how long its been around. Our guide was very informative and spoke English well.

It was very informative and the instructor was well spoken. The price was reasonable . I would recommend going .

Great for understanding the cork industry. Suggesting that a microphone be used in the future so all can hear the speaker.
Roger_G, Feb 2026
Very informative on the process of cork removal from the trees to the processing the product for shipment to factories.

Really enjoyable experience and informative. Liked the live demonstration also. Have a new respect for bark!

You will learn everything about cork on this tour. Very comprehensive explanations about harvesting and processing techniques.
JoAnne_V, Oct 2025
It was an easy, pleasant drive to the factory where we had a very informative tour of the factory. Staff were onsite to provide demonstrations of cutting & grading cork plus impressive knife sharpening skills. It is a real treat to see skilled craftsman in action. There was lots of time for questions with knowledgeable staff. Supporting this small community & eco focused business was the highlight of our day.

Great tour guide, Elena. Well spoken and clearly explained the cork manufacturing process. I had previously toured the cork farm and was pleased to see the next step.
Maria_C, Oct 2025
This was such a neat tour to learn so much about the process of harvesting cork and how they process it afterwards. They have a small shop with some really cute items. We really enjoyed it.
Karen_C, Oct 2025
Unique tour. Staff were very knowledgeable and proud of their work. Amazing to see how cork is manufactured and plays a role in our lives. It could only have been better if we were able to see first hand how the cork is harvested from the tree.
Dan_S, Sep 2025
Very informative and interesting. We had no idea of the process of obtaining the bark needed for cork, and it many uses. We leave with a heightened appreciation of cork.

Then tour around premices

This was totally an indoor experience.
We enjoyed the explanation of the harvesting, grading and processing of cork.
We got to watch a worker trimming and grading large and small pieces of the cork bark. We also got to see the huge water vats where the cork is boiled and then flattened to be sold on market. We enjoyed the explanation of the various grades/quality of cork, and the different purposes for which the cork is used.
Ann_B, Jul 2025
This is a very good tour with lots of very interesting facts and info . Who knew all of the items that can be made from cork
Well worth a visit.
Very good English tour guide

It was a good little tour of a cork factory. We had a short video and a tour around the factory. It was fascinating and interesting to see how cork is processed and graded. My son got to try cutting some cork. It was short, just an hour, and I was under the assumption we’d get to go out into a cork field, but otherwise it was great. We enjoyed the little cork shop at the end.
Katherine_F, Mar 2025
Very informative place to visit. We learned quite a lot about the cork industry. Great place for families.
Roy_R, Mar 2025
There too many people and the presenter should have had a mic.
The presentation was predominantly about making stoppers. Overall, I didn't think it was good value, it would have been nice to have been offered a drink.
The premises were pretty miserable and they could have finished, taking us into a pleasant room with a drink.
Dhiman_D, Feb 2025
The factory tour experience was good, but there is no public transportation to the place. So, it caught us by surprise. The guide also explained the cork making process in detail and was open to answering the questions.
helene_W, Feb 2025
We learned a lot about the cork industry and its many facets and its importance for Portugal economy. Very good presentation and tour.
