What a fun way to spend an afternoon! Beware though, if you have trouble making decisions this can be anxiety inducing. Lots of colors and styles to choose from made for some minor second guessing. All in all I’m so happy with my choice and will always have this fantastic bag to remind me of my trip to Scotland!
Making the Islander bags was a fun and excellent experience. I highly recommend it to all. Codi and Wictoria were very helpful and explained the steps to the process clearly and patiently. We got our choice of many different bags and just paid extra if we chose one that was more expensive. There were loads of options of patterns and different straps and bases. Anyone can do this, it's not difficult other than it uses your fine motor skills.
Such a fun experience. Our host was a lot of fun and helped organize the bag making process which made it easy to do. I would highly recommend this activity.

What a great way to have fun, use your creative juices, and come away with a very fashionable souvenir of your trip to Scotland. Instructors Connor, Claire and Imogene were so helpful and encouraging in helping us through the creation of these satchels. It was so enjoyable and I was happy to walk away with a beautiful remembrance of my trip.
This was so much fun and we all love our bags. It feels a little overwhelming at first with all the choices but Imogen was great at explaining all the choices. Make sure you get your hosts to quality control your bags at each stage. The handle for my MIL's bag came apart on one side. Luckily they give you a repair kit so all is well.
Fantastic experience; fun and interesting. Claire and Koby were awesome. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking to have a fun enjoyable workshop, solo or with family/friends.
If you are a person who loves purses, or you have a loved one who loves them, this is a must do in Edinburgh. You will find these purses all over Scotland/England, but this workshop allows you to design a unique bag for basically the same price. It is easy to do, so don't be intimidated that you won't be able to follow along. The hardest part of the activity is just trying to pick from the many beautiful choices to create your unique bag! I definitely recommend doing this if you have a free hour or so after visiting Edinburgh Castle as it's within walking distance.
Very fun! Only feedback would be for the instructor to slow down a little bit when explaining things.
We didn’t know exactly what to expect. This was so much fun, choosing a satchel body and plaid. There were many color and style choices. We had a wonderful time. I would highly recommend this experience.
This was a great excursion. Both Victoria and Beth were great hosts. They helped with any questions we had. The handbag turned out lovely and worth the price of the tour. We left with a custom-made bag from Scotland. You can't beat that. They also had beautiful items for purchase which were very reasonable. I highly recommend the tour with them.
Really efficient workshop and so fun! We got to make our own custom Islander mini-satchels, easy to upgrade to other sizes, satchels, and they even have a unisex toiletries travel bag and other accessories available to purchase as well. Great way to get an authentic Scottish souvenir!
Well managed, helpful, and fun experience. Our handbag professional guru did a wonderful job of assisting the group through the process. I found his guidance entertaining and the process easy (other than the color selection process due to the plethora of options they had on hand).
My partner and I had tons of fun in this cute little workshop! We really enjoyed making our custom souvenir and we cant wait to cherish them forever! Our host was great and shared tons of information on how these handbags are made which really added to the experience

Fun and unique experience. Love my purse. So many choices and colors. Real hands on experience. Staff was very helpful.
Claire and Murray were our very friendly and helpful workshop teachers - they could not have been sweeter. I went with my daughters and we had a beautiful and original bag each to take home and a lovely memory to keep forever.
I really enjoyed this experience. I did feel a little rushed to make choices. A little more time or help with the options would be appreciated

Susie was extremely helpful -explaining the process and assisting with any questions or concerns throughout the experience. It was a BLAST, and made us much more aware of the value of the satchels and based created!!
It was fun and easily done. Complete assistance was provided through all aspects of the assembly process, both with choosing your patterns and colours, and assembly.
Really great experience but too short and not enough preparation info. It would be helpful to get a previous of the bag options and pricing, as well as a preview of the tartans and colours. This all felt super rushed when we were there and a lot of people got anxious due to time limits on the choices. Otherwise, the staff were nice and helpful and the bag options are so cute! Again, just wish there was more preparatory information so that the activity itself didn’t feel so rushed and stressful.
Very fun experience. I was slightly dreading the experience, but I ended up really enjoying the experience with my partner. I made a bag for my daughter and my partner created her own bag. It was really nice and very different than anything we have ever done.
What a great time we had. Claire and Anna where so helpful and managed the class well. This was definitely a highlight of our time in Edinburgh and will be a cherished moment for a long timr.
The Islander tweed workshop was a lot of fun. The hard part is picking your pieces from their vast selection. Instructors were knowledgeable and very helpful. Such a nice unique souvenir to take home to remember Edinburgh.

The hardest part was choosing which bag and which colours to go with! It was nice to meet people from around the world and Sarah and Coby were great hosts!
Great experience. Nice to be in Scotland and be able to do a workshop with tweed. Hosts were feat and very helpful
We paid for a class but arrived 15 minutes late and refused admittance. There was a message to notify them we might be late but unbeknownst to us, the Fringe Festival caused even more traffic. A walk, bus and Uber for 2 people with mobility issues was an effort to arrive promptly but even that was not good effort. Instructed to walk 2 blocks to obtain a takeaway saddle kit. Luckily Sky was emphatic providing help and instructions. So instead of taking class, purchase a kit and do it yourself. Well 2 Canadians had the same issue so we sat in a nearby coffee shop to help each other. This company needs to stay Lateness will not be tolerated.

Unfortunately, we’re unable to admit guests once a workshop is 15 minutes underway, as this can disrupt the experience for the other participants. We understand how disappointing this must have been after making such an effort to arrive.
