We had an amazing time. There were kids as young as 5 and adults as old as 75. Some swimmers some not. You are taken right to the start of the river tubing and don’t have to walk there. All your belongings remain in your van. Everyone had fun. Staff was very attentive, helpful and fun. Would definitely return and highly recommend. Beautiful experience!

Pickup is done at the Visitor Information Center directly opposite the ship pier. Departure Point: Tour commences with a pick-up from cruise ship pier Dates: Daily

Itinerary

After your cruise ship dock's at Dominica's port, board your vehicle for the 30-minute ride through the lush island's interior to the launch site for your river tubing adventure.

Listen to a short safety briefing and receive your paddle, life jacket and modified inner tube. Launch your tube and follow your guide down the river, spinning gently in the current. Stop along the way to swim in the refreshing water before continuing on your adventure.

Ask your expert guide any questions on the way, including paddling pointers and anything you want to know about the local flora and fauna. Your safety and comfort is their top priority.

When you float down to the Hillsborough Reception Center, you'll pull your tube onto the banks and enjoy some rum punch and fresh local fruit.

When your tubing safari is over, enjoy transportation back to the Dominica cruise port in plenty of time to catch your departing ship.

This experience was allot of fun. The Whacky Rollers company did a fantastic job and made it fun for all of us. It was just the right length of time. The van ride to the river was good, allot to see. The company was quick to get us all on the river. The guides spent allot of time making sure everyone was having a good time. Ride back was just as good and we got dropped off in town next to the port. Went to "Pirates" afterwards for live music and drinks. This is my second time cruising through Dominica and Pirates is a great place to stop off after your excursion and have a few drinks.

This is a good trip. The crew is there at every bend of the river to keep you from getting stuck. Pick up and drop off from both of the cruise ports.

A little concerning…

Our tour was cancelled because of rough currents due to rain. Lots of tree branches and trash floating in the water. All 10 of us in the bus were planning to ask to be taken back to the ship if they didn’t cancel. All of the river tours through the ship were cancelled but Wacky Rollers insisted theirs was still happening and it’s because the ship tours were on another side of the island. Definitely won’t return.

Operation left part of the group at the port in the pouring rain. After doing so the person that gave us the history of the towns etc going through did not do it for them and acted pissed off at the group the whole time. Like it was our fault you for someone. The group of guys leading us down the river was amazing and that part of the trip was great. Bus driver not so much.

Great rafting. Left port at scheduled time at 1:00P.M. Got half way there and had to turn arround for two late passengers. Took us one hour out of our way I'm not a complainer but one of the ladies on the shuttle was. If not for the fact we made it through the river tubing and back on board in time I might have complained myself.

Though there wasn't much rain, so the river was pretty low, we still had a great time. Good mix of 'lazy river' and easy rapids, which would likely be more exhilarating later in the rainier parts of the year. The van ride was reliable, the river crew was helpful at keeping everyone together, safe and having fun, the rum punch was delicious. There was a point where we rested and same in the river, and changing areas at the end were convenient. We had a blast and would do it again.

Docked at alternate site, missed our tour

Unfortunately, we missed our tour by 10 minutes (no refund, but no hard feelings). Our ship did not dock at Roseau Cruise Ship Berth as we had anticipated, but at the Woodbridge Bay facility for cargo/passengers. Had we docked at the Roseau Cruise Ship Berth, our tour pick-up would have been RIGHT THERE, but by the time we realized what was going on and caught a shuttle to the correct location, we were too late. Intent on NOT missing the tubing adventure, we spent an additional $200 to a local driver to catch us up to another tour. Still had a great time tubing. It was the perfect storm of mishaps—wrong docking spot, me missing the phone calls from the Viator tour operator trying to find us, not enough time to rectify the situation (had we debarked 30 minutes earlier, we would have been fine). I’m just posting this as advice to others…get off your ship much earlier if you are not doing a ship-sponsored excursion to leave time for mishaps; be aware that you might dock at Woodbridge Bay instead of the Roseau Cruise Ship Berth (our cruise ship did not tell us this ahead of time), and make sure your phone is operating properly. I’m not sure if the tour operator can tell ahead if time if the ship will dock at Woodbridge Bay so they can warn you—probably not. I did contact them the day before to confirm pick-up location, but obviously neither of us knew. The instructions I was given was for the Roseau Cruise Ship Berth. Even though we missed the tour, I’m giving three stars because I don’t want to sink the ratings.

Not as easy as we expected

The kayaking started in the sea and proved quite difficult with the tide and waves. We had specifically asked about this and told it would only be a small portion of the excursion. We were extremely tired by the time we reached the more sedate river. Our guides were very good. One was an experienced kayaker but the other wasn't.

Our group of 6 friends…..all over 60…..had the best time on this tour. The guides were amazing & when we got stuck on branches along the side they would fling us back out into the rapids. It was so much fun! The guides were amazing! Go on this tour!

Wrong pick up instructions

The actual river tubing was fun but the pick up instructions were all wrong and we were forced to call there office and get corrected instructions, they act like. It is your fault for not knowing where they are. Get it together people you are confusing the hell out of your customers

This was the best tour that I have ever been on. It was just a blast! Our guides were the best. They were right there when you needed help. I got stuck on a rock and was quickly rescued. I would, definitely, take this tour again. So much fun!!
