I had such a great time! The tour guides were amazing and taught us so much. We found sperm whales pretty quickly and they helped us identify the different ones by their tails 🤯. Great day, very well organized, very fun and would HIGHLY recommend.

Unlike all our prior experiences with Viator, this time communication was poor. Our cruise ship had to change to the commercial port instead of the main port. I notified using the app and requested confirmation to no avail and tried calling also with no success. At 9am was told pick up was to be at 9:30 as they were picking up some folks at the other port. However, the tour had a max of 8 and all 8 boarded at 9:30 from our cruise ship. The boat captain & mate were pleasant.

Great tour. The small boat was nice. When we found the sperm whales, we were able to get pretty close without disturbing them. I wish they would have let us hear the whale sounds. They told us they could, but did not. Warning for those with weaker stomachs, it can get pretty choppy, but the crew did a good job trying to minimize this. The rum punch was very good.

Amazing experience from start to finish! The crew from the Sanae boat so obviously cared about marine life. Luckily, we were able to see sperm whales the day we went. Even if you don’t, you will enjoy the ride and the beauty of where the Caribbean meets the Atlantic. This was our family of 4 favorite experience of our lovely Dominica visit.

Enjoyed our morning with Seli and Bridget. Whale watching boats coordinate when they see whales and we were lucky enough to see at least 4 sperm whales, 2 with young whales with them.
We parked up beside the river in Roseau which was just over 10 minutes away and meant we did not need to negotiate streets and cruise ship traffic in town. If self driving, leave extra time to get into Roseau in the morning. There are WCs in the ferry port but you will need to ask where they are as they are not obvious from outside.

The crew was outstanding! The seas were at 2-3 foot swells, and the boat was pounding through the waves and rocking side to side a bit. My wife is not comfortable at all in such conditions. The crew and the other passengers were TOTALLY understanding of the situation and went out of their way to return us to shore. Sadly, the weather just didn't cooperate with us that day, but we have nothing but great things to say about the tour provider and the crew involved!

What a wonderful experience! We saw several whales and got some good pictures of them fluking. A few dolphins, too! Our boat was small, only 8 passengers, and we zipped around through the rain in ponchos provided. Skipper and guide were knowledgeable and fun!

Had such an amazing experience! The weather was beautiful of course. It was so nice to be at sea. Gorgeous blue waters and to see my beautiful island of Dominica from the sea - just breathtaking views.
Britney was our main guide and her enthusiasm was evident from her introduction. She is so passionate about the whales and gave us the history to do with the whale families they have in the waters.
Our captain was also great, funny and enthusiastic (have forgotten his name)
We were given life jackets to wear the whole time.
Unfortunately the whales didn’t want to be found that day but that didn’t take away from the experience.
It was so peaceful on the waters and enjoying a cold glass of rum punch was a lovely touch! Cold bottled water was also offered.
I really liked that it was a small boat too with a smaller group.
So glad we managed to fit this into our carnival itinerary!

A most enjoyable excursion. We saw plenty of dolphins, but unfortunately no sperm whales today. Stella (sp?) and Jennifer were terrific. We only had eight on board our boat which made up close and personal viewing of the dolphins. Highly recommend this tour, you’ll enjoy it.

We had a nice time on the water. Unfortunately Nature was not on our side. No whale or dolphin showed up for us.
Nevertheless to see Dominica from the Sea is breathtaking. Thanks to the crew.

They pick you up right at the cruise port in the excursion boat. It was so convenient! They were running a bit behind for our tour, but they communicated via WhatsApp. We were able to see 2 Sperm Whales. We had to go further than what our guides expected, but it was so worth it. Be prepared to get wet from boat spray.

Very nice experience. We started a little late but guides communicated with us keeping informed of start time. We had 2 sperm whale sights. Brittany and Selos were very nice and informative guides. Dominica was beautiful and the boat ride enjoyable.

The tour boat is a smaller vessel (18-20') that holds only 8 passengers. The water can be a little choppy and it is noticible on a boat of this size. We had a fabulous time visiting a pod of mother sperm whales and their calves. The sightings were phenomenal. The owners/operators of the tour went out of their way to make the day a success, including a pier side pick-up/drop-off when it was impossible to get us in their vehicle. Overall, it was a winderful time.

After advising the customers, as we were cruising out, that spotters informed crew that all the whales had gone out into the open sea, they proceeded to bounce us over 9 ft swells for 2 hours with not even a minnow ever seen. No consideration of canceling or giving customers an option to do something else. A request to the operator and Viator for some customer consideration was summarily rejected. Very disappointing!

Brittany met us right as we departed the Wind Surf, and after a short walk we rendezvoused with our boat. We had an unforgettable day on our whale-watching excursion—Brittany and the captain were fantastic, and seeing so many of these magnificent creatures was truly special. We were so happy we chose PW Whale Excursions, especially since we were on a small boat with just six other whale-watching explorers.

Excellent opportunity to view sperm whales up close. Only 8 people, small boat, knowledgeable guide and captain. We saw 6 whales and one was a baby. Loved this!

The crew on this boat kept contact with other boats to locate animals. They could not find the larger whales, so we went north to find the melon-heads - smaller dolphins and saw several small groups swimming. A fine day on the water and we discovered something new...

This was a great small craft, intimate experience. I appreciated the knowledge and skill of the boat captain and guide. There was good communication with other small boats to share the location of the whales, which we saw up close and personal! also many dolphins. A great outing!!!
