If possible, we would like to leave a rating of zero stars. This is way overpriced for the services provided. We recommend you not to join for waste of both time and money. We seldom leave reviews for tours and attractions unless they are exceptionally memorable (either for how great they are or the reverse), and this unfortunately falls into the latter category. Pick-up at the hotel was fine (very punctual) and driver was generally friendly. No issue with this. The experience took place at a Thai silk workshop and started with a short introduction to the process of silk making. We did not sign up for a silk related tour but did not mind the add on. The set up for, as well as the tie dye activity, were rudimentary. There were three pots of colors (yellow, red and purple) that we may use for tye dying. We were given a piece of white cotton cloth, and were shown 4 different tying pattern. The staff was generally helpful. It took us around 45 minutes to complete the typing and dying. One of us asked to do another dye but was told that that is not allowed. This was relatively surprising given how inexpensive the material was in comparison wtih the price of this tour, plus there was nothing else for us to do after the dying was complete and the products were left to dry. To kill time (as the activity is said to last 3 hours), we were brought to an adjacent silver workshop and had to walk through a maze of display of silverware and jewelry. Thereafter, we were asked to visit another shop selling wooden products, carpets, statutes and other artisanal crafts. We made no purchase and were clearly not interested in browsing the collection. Thereafter, we were taken to a third shop back at the silk workshop that mainly sells silk products. There was very little explanation (if any, except a 1 min briefing on how to distinguish real from fake silver) in the process. In Chiangmai, at the price of 2,800 baht per head, we would expect much better services, with premium experience. Lacklustre would have been an overstatement for this experience. The tour, unless significantly revamped and improved, is a definite no go.

The experience state clearly about timing spend for activities needed. 3 hours. 1 hour pick up-drop off from hotel. D.I.Y Activity 2 hours including waiting products were left to dry. Going to Silver Wear shop is your own decision to kill the time. Price 2,800 B. we give you a chance to learn how they made the tie dye, also we give you a piece of fabric cotton-silk mixed to make your own master piece. You never get this great chance from where else. However thank you to give us the timing problem we will improve to be better.
