Lampang Tours and Tickets

A great tour, a day trip from Chiang Mai. It is a long day with a decent amount of driving, but you are going off the beaten track to temples literally less seen by tourists. My guide, M, was excellent and knowledgeable and was open to my requests for staying longer in places or shorter in others. The trip up to the floating pagodas is a bit different! Into a songthaew then after that ride up a lot of steps but the view from the top is worth it. We had clear skies and the timing of the tour was great for having the sun in the right place for pictures. This tour was a good decision.

Our guide was Tong for this trip and it was excellent. He picked us up promptly with locally made snacks and plenty of drinks and things to make our trip very comfortable (it’s a lot of road time) he’s also very personable and delightful to spend time with. Tong was a novice Monk for a while so he was extremely informative as we toured the temples - very helpful if you’re not as familiar with Buddhism. He made us more aware and more comfortable visiting the temples (wish we had done this sooner when we were in Chiang Mai). As for the temples - these were incredible. Both are different from the ones we saw everywhere else (we visited several). It’s hard to describe them here but the second one (the sky pagoda) is unbelievable. It sits on top of a mountain and it’s the most peaceful place I’ve visited here. I would definitely recommend this trip and you’ll be lucky to have Tong as your guide - he made this all worthwhile!
